Everyone laughed with satisfaction. Well, the Iron Pagoda has finally met its end, they thought. Indeed, the villagers hated Ma In Liang, who always helped his evil students, especially Peng Bouw, who was notorious for his arbitrary actions.
Ma In Liang crawled to his feet. Fortunately, Lian Hwa's kick hadn't hit his knee joint—that's right, otherwise the joint would have dislocated and he would have been disabled. Now he only felt the aching and pain in his shin.
He was so embarrassed that he became determined. He would rather die than endure the shame, because a champion who had made a name for himself among the martial art world had been defeated by an unknown little girl so easily and embarrassingly! With a single wink, his eyes turned red, his beard stood on end, he picked up his staff and attacked with reckless abandon.
Lian Hwa simply laughed loudly and dodged with agility. She deliberately didn't want to attack, but she wanted to toying with that reckless person. Shee jumped here and there so that Ma In Liang felt as if the girl had become several people surrounded him from the front, right rear
and left.
Peng Bouw saw his teacher being played with by someone like that became angry and shouted, "Hey guys, until when we will wait?" He drew his machete and was immediately followed by seven of his friends, all disciples of the Iron Pagoda who worked as thug of village head in that village.
Seeing the chaos, all the spectators backed away in fear and only those with a strong heart still dare to watch it from place a bit far away. Anger rose in Han Lian Hwa's heart saw the behavior of the rude people who were ganging up on her, but she was still smiling and even laughing now
roared loudly.
"Ha, shameless humans!" she snapped as he dodged away Peng Bouw's machete strike. "Nine tall men are ganging up on a little girl. Aren't you afraid of being laughed at?"
"Don't be such a jerk!" replied Iron Pagoda, hiding his embarrassment and pretending not to see his students coming to his aid.
"Okay, you're courting your own fate!" Lian Hwa shouted, and immediately the nine thugs became confused because the girl they were attacking suddenly darted out of sight.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew from behind, and one of them screamed and fell. They quickly turned around and saw the girl jumping around, swooping like a bird. With a single move of her hand or foot, one of her enemies would fall. Now, only Peng Bouw and Ma In Liang were left fighting her.
At one point, Peng Bouw swung his machete at Lian Hwa's neck with the Yellow Dragon Twisting the Body technique. His machete spun from right to left, aiming for Lian Hwa's neck. At that moment, Ma In Liang's iron staff came and struck her leg. Because Ma In Liang's movements were much faster than his disciple's, the staff arrived first. Lian Hwa leaped upwards, and before Peng Bouw's machete could even reach her, her foot swung in mid-air toward Black-Faced Horse's wrist. Furious and exasperated with Black-Faced Horse, she put all her strength into her leg. How could Peng Bouw withstand such a skillful kick? He screamed, his machete flying away, and his right arm was crushed. It turned out his wrist was broken. He groaned as he retreated.
Now only the teacher was left to fight the young lady. Cold sweat poured down her face. His eyes were dim. But he couldn't run and became reckless. His staff lashed out, now aiming at Lian Hwa's waist. The girl jumped high again, but Iron Pagoda's staff chased her and struck her leg.
That girl is really very skilful. She is agile, light and brave. In the air she saw the tip of the staff coming she deliberately stepped on it with the sole of her foot. So her foot hit the tip of the stick, her body rose again and she Somerset on the air, so that now the head is under her feet above floated down. Her right hand moves towards her opponent's shoulder quickly and strongly.
There was a "cracking" sound and the Iron Pagoda screamed in pain, his staff slipped from his grip and he collapsed unconscious. His shoulder joints were broken and crushed. Lian Hwa
deliberately gave a severe beating and since then the surnamed Ma becoming a useless person and a cripple for life, impossible for him to use his martial arts skills to bullying others who are weaker.
Seeing the nine thugs lying there, groaning helplessly, and the girl standing there smiling and yanking her dust-covered clothes, the men didn't dare approach her again, staring in awe and astonishment. But at the same time, they were worried about the girl's fate.
An old man approached Lian Hwa and said,
"Miss Warrior is truly amazing. But I'm worried about your safety. You know, miss, these people are the local village head's thugs, and if he find out about this, they'll definitely come soon with their guards to arrest you. And you can't possibly go against the rulers of the country. So, run before it's too late!"
Han Lian Hwa was grateful for the advice. She smiled sweetly and saluted. "Thank you, uncle. I don't want to be a coward, daring to do something but not daring to take responsibility. And I don't want to be a fugitive.
Please show me where the village head's building is?"
People around didn't understand what the lady's wishes were, however
they immediately showed chief village Lie house which is located not far from that place. With steady and light actions Han Lian Hwa headed towards the village head building.
Like most dignitaries and officials civil servants big and small at that time, every village head is a small king in his village. Village head Lie no exception. He collected wealth by blackmailing his people and to be able to control the people of his village, besides the guards who defended him, he also gathered Ma In Liang and his students became his thugs so that the village people can be completely conquered.
On that day, the village head Lie was vacant and chatting with his wife in the park behind of his house which he maintains well. At that time spring was long past so the flower gardens were full
flowers of various colors. The village head Lie is someone who has gone to school and likes to compose poetry. At that time he was happy, looking at the beautiful flowers and, drink fragrant wine served by his young and beautiful wife, he scribbled on a his wife folding fan.
"Look, my poetry this time on your folding fan is really good," he said and then he read the verse aloud proudly,
"Spring comes and goes anyway,
Leaving beauty in our flowers garden
My life is happy like flowers,
Long live your beautiful wife,
Many derivatives, many treasures!
Life is once this good,
What else are you looking for?"
Suddenly a loud, melodious voice was heard continuing the poetry,
"But it's all pointless.
Without good deeds, you will go to hell!"
The village head Lie was shocked and angry, he immediately looked, and so did his wife. In astonishment they looked a girl dressed in simple medium red clothes walked over to them. I don't know where the girl came from, and somehow she was able to enter the garden the one with the high fence and well guarded!
"Hey, who are you?" Village head Lie scolded.
Han Lian Hwa answered sharply. "A people who doesn't like injustice happening in your village!"
"What do you mean, insolent child?" snapped the village head Lie.
"Village head Lie, you just happen and lucky to be the head of this village. But it turns out you have acted arbitrarily oppress the people, raise bastards for bullying the villagers, while you are alone live a luxurious life and have fun. Where is your humanity? You know, I've beaten all your people now, lying helpless in front of the wine shop. Do not move!" she snapped when she saw the village head Lie open his mouth wanted to call his guards.
Lian Hwa leaped in front of the village head, swinging both fists. She spread the fingers of her left hand and with a single tap, the table in front of Village Head Lie appeared riddled with five holes, as if punctured with a needle! The village head was shocked, his body shivering, and his wife immediately knelt down.
"Now, look. If you keep acting up, I'll use your head as a hammer. Let me see if your head is harder than the wood of this table," she threatened.
"Have mercy, Miss," said village head Lie, his voice whimpering with anxiety. "Is it your will to come here? If you want money, I'll provide it immediately!"
"You're ridiculous! Who wants your money, stained with the blood and sweat of the villagers? I only want your dog's soul!"
"Forgive me, miss, forgive me..." and his wife joined in begging for mercy.
"Okay, I'll forgive you this time. But you must follow my instructions. You must prosecute all nine of your thugs who are now helplessly wandering around the courtyard of the wine store for torturing the villagers. Be careful, they must be imprisoned and their cases brought before the proper authorities. And you must change your ways. Don't exploit your people. Remember that you became the village head because there are people in this village. If they weren't there, what would you be? This park must be made into a public park so that every villager can enjoy it. Don't live alone, understand?"
Village Head Lie nodded his head like a bird eating grain, muttering, "Okay...
Okay, Miss..."
"Well, I'm leaving now. But I'm not going far, and if you don't do all of that..." Her hand quickly drew her sword. The light flashed, and a "sing!" flashed, and suddenly the village head's cap fell off, along with the hair inside.
"Well, if you don't obey, I'll come again, but I'll aim my sword lower, right at the base of your neck!"
Then the girl with the red lotus in her hair flashed and vanished from before them! Village Head Lie, nervous and confused, immediately shouted for his guards. They came rushing in like ants smelling sugar.
"Hey, what are you doing? Stupid, stupid! Quickly, quickly arrest those crazy people!"
"Which crazy person, Sir?" asked the Guards Leader.
"Stupid! It's Ma In Liang and his students. Arrest them and put them in detention."
"But, but..."
"But what! Come on, hurry up, they dare to insult and torturing my people! Catch them. And make a party in this park tonight, invite all the villagers to attend. Quickly!"
"Fine... fine!" The guards scattered around noisily for carrying out strange and uncommon orders.
Meanwhile, Han Lian Hwa returned to the wine shop and reassured the villagers that this time the village chief of Lie would definitely change his attitude towards them!
Then she asked where Bok-lun-san Hill was, as she intended to look for her senior brother, Hwat Khong Monk at the Ban-hok-thong temple. A traveling vendor told her that the hill was hundreds of miles away.
"If Miss going there by walk, it would take at least half a month to get there. Riding would be faster, perhaps four days," the man explained.
Han Lian Hwa thought that by using her sprinting skills, she would definitely get there even faster. But she didn't need to rush, as she still wanted to explore the world she had just entered.
When people asked her name, she simply smiled and waved, then in a flash disappeared from sight. Everyone was amazed, and because the strange girl wore red pearl-studded flowers in her hair, everyone in the village called her "The Red Lotus Warrior."
One evening, Han Lian Hwa entered the bustling village of Liok-keecung. This village was somewhat larger than the neighboring villages, as it produced a large fish catch from the Cin-leng-kiang River, a branch of the famous Huang-ho River. There were many shops and wine stalls, as well as many drug stores with big-name brands.
Han Lian Hwa stopped in front of the "Bin Lok" hotel and was immediately greeted by a friendly old waiter.
"Please come in, miss. Do you need accommodations?"
Han Lian Hwa smiled and nodded in agreement. "What a coincidence, miss. There's still an empty room at the back. The other rooms are all full, because a group of cargo carrier from the Yellow Snake Shipping Company has arrived."
Guided by the waiter, Han Lian Hwa entered the hotel room. In the middle of the wide room, she saw several men dressed as Yellow Snake Shipping Company sitting around a round table. A small flag depicting a yellow snake was planted on the table. They were the carrier from the Yellow Snake Shipping Company. At the head of the table sat a tall, thin, white-haired old man. They all looked troubled and curious.
When Lian Hwa passed by, they paused their conversation and glanced at her sharply and suspiciously. Lian Hwa ignored them but immediately followed the maid to her room in the back room.
After finding her room and the maid was about to leave, she stopped her. "Hey, wait a minute! Are those people the carrier from Yellow Snake Shipping Company?" she asked carelessly.
"Yes, miss. That old man is Ong Mo Lin, the Yellow Snake himself."
"They seem to be having a hard time, why?"
The servant looked at the girl sharply and glanced at the scabbard of the Sian-kong-kiam sword hanging from her waist, then said, "Hmm, you're a shrewd young lady, you can tell at a glance that they're in trouble."
"Ah, don't assume anything. I'm just guessing."
"It's like this, young lady. A week ago, four carriers from Yellow Snake Shipping Company passed through here, delivering goods worth tens of thousands of taels. But they were unlucky, because on Mount Kong-lun-san not far from here, they encountered robbers and their goods were stolen. The four carriers were injured in the battle. So now Ong Mo Lin, the Yellow Snake himself has come with his disciples to reclaim the goods."
Han Lian Hwa nodded and said slowly,
"I didn't know there was such a big deal." She then entered the room and closed the door.
That evening, when she went out to order the servants to buy food, she saw the carriers still discussing around the round table. Suddenly, she heard the Yellow Snake bang the table and shout, "That bastard, the Black Wasp!"
Lian Hwa glanced and saw the cups and candles on the table had shot more than a foot off the table, and all four legs had sunk about an inch. It turned out that in his rage, the carrier leader had used his considerable strength.
The next day, the group of seven carriers set off. Han Lian Hwa quietly followed them after paying the rent for the inn. The group headed to a forested hill. Suddenly, the roar of arrows was heard, followed by the striking of an arrow that had lodged in a tree trunk in front of them.
Ong Mo Lin the Yellow Snake looked around then shouted, "Hey, bastard Black Wasp! Don't be a coward and like a child. Come out and try your best!"
The challenge was greeted by the sound of uproarious laughter and from behind the group of trees three people jumped out. Two of them are tall and big but the other is small and short. The short little guy was Black Wasp himself. His clothes were all black and hanging from his waist was a thick black bamboo staff. Even though his body is small, his voice is big and loud as he laughed and said,
"Aha, Ong Mo Lin the Yellow Snake himself came to here. As it happens. It's been a long time since I heard your great name and now there's a chance for me to prove the truth of the news."
"Hm, hm, Black Wasp! You really don't look me in the eye. Is that how a brave man from Liok-lim behaves? If you want to try, just say so. Don't lower yourself by bothering my Shipping Company."
"Who would bother to try you? This is my territory, and everyone who passes through here has to pay me. I've already taken your belongings; if you have any sense, take them back!"
"Good, man surname Bu. Let's try to test our strength, don't talk too much like a woman!"
The Black Wasp Bu Kiat laughed loudly again. "Aha, you are very brave. Perhaps the seven of you want to fight the three of us? Gang up or one on one?"
"I'm not a coward. There's no need to gang up against someone like you," replied the Yellow Snake angrily, drawing his special weapon: the Yellow Snake Machete, which weighed one hundred catties.
But at that moment, one of his most skilled students, Khong Sin, who often represented his master in teaching other students. Khong Sin was renowned for his skill with the pair of swords, stepped forward, holding his master and saying, "Master, let the me beat this ignorant person."
Meanwhile, a friend of the Black Wasp, Poan Sit, leaped forward.
"Do you have any value in competing with Big Brother Bu?" he snapped, drawing his machetes. "I am your master, Poan Sit, am strong enough to meet your two swords. Come on!"
Khong Sin, without hesitation, attacked with his pair of swords using the Black Dragon Wrapped Around a Pole technique. His two swords spun rapidly and struck at the enemy's neck and stomach.
The Poan man exclaimed, "Good!" and swung his machete, simultaneously blocking the two swords. Because his power was greater, Khong Sin's two swords were knocked away.
He immediately countered with a fierce attack using the White Langur Offering Fruit technique. His machete struck his opponent's chest but was blocked by Khong Sin's swords. Poan Sit took a step forward and swung his leg, kicking his opponent's stomach, which he skillfully dodged.
They attacked fiercely, using deadly tricks against each other. After over fifty moves, Khong Sin was clearly outmatched and outmatched. His two swords were trapped and intermittently bounced off. His teacher began to worry, and just as Ong Mo Lin was about to order his student to retreat, his opponent's machete struck Khong Sin squarely in the shoulder, who immediately collapsed in a pool of blood. Fortunately, he managed to dodge, and only the tip of the machete grazed his shoulder.
His friends rushed to his aid.
"Ha, ha. Your skills aren't that great," Poan Sit mocked.
On the carrier side, there were only two other people whose skills surpassed Khong Sin's: the Yellow Snake himself and his son, Ong Bu, who was quite skilled with the staff. Before his father came forward, Ong Bu already jumped forward and without another word immediately
attack Poan Sit with the Cloud Dragon Shows Itself. Poan Sit raised his machete parry and counter attack.
After more than ten moves, Ong Bu changed how to do martial arts. His staff grabbed wildly.
This is a skill he has ever learned from a nomadic monk. Soon Poan Sit was pressed greatly and hastily jumped back from the circle battle.
