🟢 Chapter Three: A New Presence

Two weeks later

Kyle and Wally walked out of class together, heading toward the cafeteria, chatting as usual. As they entered, they immediately spotted Jon standing next to a boy their age with thick black hair and sharp eyes that carried a hint of arrogance.

Jon smiled at them and said, "Hey, guys!"

Wally glanced at the new boy and asked, "And who's your new friend?"

Jon answered confidently, "This is Damian Wayne. We've known each other for a long time... And what you might not know is—he's the current Robin, Batman's sidekick."

Damian turned to Jon sharply, his tone cold: "I don't recall giving you permission to reveal my secret identity."

Jon calmly replied, "They already know... That's Novarion—son of Ben Tennyson and Supergirl. And that's Wally West, Flash's successor. I don't see a reason for secrets between us."

Wally chuckled, "So, you're Batman's sidekick? Jon's told me a lot about you... and your 'fun' little adventures."

Kyle laughed too, but Damian didn't respond. He simply stared at Jon with a blank expression.

Jon grinned playfully and said, "I never said they were funny adventures."

Trying to break the tension, he added, "Anyway... what brings you here?"

Damian replied coldly, "You don't need to know."

Jon laughed, "There he goes again—the mysterious ninja act."

🔁 Flashback – One day earlier

In the dim silence of the Batcave, Damian stood before his father, who was studying a strange energy map displayed on a massive screen.

Batman spoke in a serious tone, "A strange energy signature was detected recently at Metropolis High School. The Justice League's sensors picked it up. I need you to enroll as a student... and observe anything unusual."

Damian scoffed, "So you're sending me to hang out with annoying teenagers now? Is this my punishment for finishing the Gotham mission early?"

Batman shot him a stern look. "You're a teenager too, Damian. This is a covert mission... We don't want to cause a stir."

Damian sighed but finally agreed. As he turned to leave, Batman added with a faint smile, "There are a few people there you might recognize... Maybe it won't be so boring."

Damian paused. "Who?"

But his question was met with only a mysterious grin.

He left the cave, not entirely thrilled. As he disappeared into the shadows, Alfred approached from behind, smiling.

Alfred said, "A wise decision, sir. Perhaps young Master Damian needs friends his own age... instead of chasing criminals every night."

Batman, without turning, replied, "Villains don't wait, Alfred... And I don't have the luxury of rest."

Alfred shook his head. "As always… hopeless."

⏪ Back to the present

Damian sat silently at a cafeteria table, ignoring the noise around him. He was analyzing the data he had gathered since his arrival: new teachers, students, strange incidents... but nothing stood out. Still, he had decided to focus on a few individuals who had appeared around the time the strange energy did—Kyle being the prime suspect.

His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Kyle's voice, joking: "Does his face always look like that when he eats? Like he's planning to kill someone!"

Wally burst into laughter, and Jon joined in—but Damian remained silent. He finished his meal quietly, stood up, and left without a word, leaving their chuckles echoing behind him.

Note:I'm merging some events from several stories, so don't be surprised by the appearance of characters in the comics who are not the same age as those in the comics, such as Raven, John, and Damian.
