"The first curse was not born from hate. It was born from memory."
—Spiral Cult Manuscript Fragment No. 0
Underground Pathways – Mount Hiei
So, yeah. Picture darkness so thick it's practically chewing on your skin—like, funeral shroud level. Smells like something crawled in here hundreds of years ago and died twice—sulfur, coppery tang, the works. And here our protogonist, out front, arms glowing with these gold runes that flicker in and out, like he's got GPS for haunted tunnels or something.
Megumi sniffs, grimacing. "This place reeks of… something old," he mutters, his shadow dogs sticking close, hackles up.
Nobara, never one to back down, rolls her shoulders, hammer already in hand. "More like a battlefield that's been on pause," she says. I mean, it's fair.
Yuji glanced at Akashi, who's all silent and tense, dragon glyph burning hot under his shirt. Whole vibe says 'don't ask,' but Yuji does anyway. "You good, man?"
Akashi doesn't even blink. "No I'm fine. But we're close. And whatever's waiting… it's not letting us just walk out."
Inner Sanctum — Shrine of First Memory
And then—boom. They step into a massive room, everything carved from black glass, like obsidian ate the place. Walls are just dragons and spirals, tangled up in some endless fight. Center stage? Throne built from bones, vines, and what it looks like the dragon scales are glued together by some lunatic.
Then afar Sitting there: The Spiral Warden. Masked like a mirror, spirals etched deep, face blank as a dead star.
"Heir of the Spiral Dragon. You are standing before your origin."
Akashi freezes. Behind the throne someone trapped in the cursed crystal maybe a woman. Even through the fog, you can tell: That's his mother. She looks barely there, eyes shut, mouth open in a scream nobody hears.
The Warden stands, all drama.
"She sang the First Codex to save you. By doing it, she made the Spiral Requiem."
Confrontation
Akashi's voice? Wrecked. "You did this to her?"
"No," says the Warden, voice flat. "You did. The night she died, her cursed song kept you around. You are still breathing because she suffered."
Akashi's got no time for that. "Liar!" And he's off, fist wrapped in dragonfire, smashing into the Warden's shield and cracked it right away. The Warden swings back, spiral spear dripping with that nasty red-black curse.
Everything goes to hell.
Yuji shouted, "Split up!"
Megumi's shadows flying. Nobara with her nails, but honestly, the whole room just orbits around the Akashi and the Warden—two storms, nothing else matters.
Revelation of the Codex
Warden twisted his hand, and—crack—the crystal fractured. Suddenly, The memories hit like a truck kun:
—A woman, Akashi's mother, are chanting over a baby.
—Cultists are all bowing, all devotion and horror.
—Blood on a forbidden scroll.
—A dragon-shaped curse, coiled tight around the child.
"You weren't just picked," the Warden sneers. "You were manufactured."
Akashi's whole body shaked,"No…"
"You are the Codex's final passage."
The Breaking Point
Nobara screamed and her resonance just can't take it, splintering under that much pain. Yuji grabbed her, and shielded her with his own cursed energy.
"Akashi! End this!"
But Akashi's stucked. His cursed energy is a lightshow—wild, flickering, about to fly apart.
"She died for me. And I was just a cage…"
The Warden started moving in, slow and cold. "Accept the Spiral. Or lose everything."
Then a little glimmer from Nobara's pocket. That charm Akashi made her, frayed and ugly but real, started glowing.
Akashi blinked, the focus snapping back.
"No," he says, voice rough. "I was her son. That's all she wanted."
His aura erupts, wild and bright.
"Domain Expansion—Abyssal Severance: Palace of Endless Sin!"
Ryoiki tenkai — Abyssal Severance
The chamber warped suddenly, now they're standing in a palace with no end, gold and black spirals twisting everywhere. Gates of thorns, dragons bleeding across the void. The Warden's got caughted, nowhere to run.
Akashi's attacks hit hard with the fists, kicks, fire, raw cursed energy. He moves like he's been waiting for this forever. Every blow's personal.
1."This is for her."
2."This is for me."
3."This is for every kid you broke."
And finally One last punch, clean through the Warden's chest.
The Domain shattered. The Warden's laugh is just dust and regret.
"You're not the end. You're just the start."
The throne falls apart. The crystal is gone. Akashi's mother faded with it. Her lips moved, barely a whisper:
"Live, Akashi."
And then—nothing. She's gone.
Akashi dropped to his knees. And then Just silence.
