She acted just like a child sometimes.
"You're unbelievable, Cute Shizuka," Qin Yumoe muttered with a helpless smile."You've got the body of a full-grown woman, but the personality of a child."
Shizuka Hiratsuka puffed out her cheeks and placed her hands on her hips."Yumoe, don't you think it's a bit rude to speak to your elder sister like that?"
A light blush spread across her face as she lowered her gaze toward her—assets—which proudly blocked the view of her own toes. Embarrassment flickered in her eyes.
"Here."
Ignoring her pout, Yumoe casually poured a small glass of sake with precision and handed it over.
Shizuka's expression changed instantly as she accepted the glass. Taking small sips, she grumbled under her breath, "How pitiful. Back in the day, I used to down more than this in a single gulp."
Yumoe tilted his head and suggested, "Then I guess I'll just take it back."
"Nooope!" Shizuka quickly hid the glass behind her back and looked up at him with pleading eyes.
"Yumoe~," she cooed in a voice dripping with sweetness.
He sighed again. "You really are Cute Shizuka."
Yumoe placed the opened can of sake back in the fridge and let her keep the drink.
"Hehehe~" Shizuka grinned triumphantly and continued sipping.
Throughout dinner, Yumoe skillfully picked up large, perfectly seared chunks of meat with his chopsticks and fed them to her one by one. The whole meal was mostly meat-based. What could he do? His older "sister" was a devoted carnivore.
"Ahhh~ I'm so full. That hit the spot~," Shizuka moaned with satisfaction, patting her slightly rounded stomach.
"Yumoe, I swear I've gained weight. What if I become a chubby old maid who can't get married?"
Yumoe paused, then said seriously, "Guess I'll just have to take you in and marry you myself."
Shizuka's face turned beet red. "Yumoe! Don't get ahead of yourself!"
SMACK!
She landed a "justice punch" right to his chest, and Yumoe obediently collapsed onto the floor, groaning in mock agony. Emotional value: maximized.
Grinning victoriously, Shizuka began unbuttoning her blouse as she headed toward the bedroom. Her creamy skin flashed beneath the warm lights—completely unbothered by Yumoe's presence.
Well, he was blind, after all.
Freeing herself from all restrictions, she glanced at her gravity-defying assets in the mirror and smiled. Still as perky as ever. No sagging in sight.
Satisfied, she stepped into the bathroom. The sound of running water soon echoed through the apartment. Behind the wall, Shizuka hummed an old pop tune as she bathed.
By the time she emerged, wrapped in a towel, the entire kitchen and dining area were spotless—even the sink sparkled.
Shizuka, who was notoriously bad at housework, was overjoyed.
Leaving chores to someone like her was basically a disaster. But now that Yumoe was around? Life was simply wonderful.
The Next Morning
"Morning, Cute Shizuka," Yumoe said with a soft smile.
"Mornin', Yumoe…" she yawned sleepily, clinging to his arm.
Yumoe stared at his arm—fully consumed in her soft embrace—and silently mourned its fate for three seconds.
Somewhere along the way, they had gone from sleeping in separate rooms… to sharing one. And neither of them had ever brought up changing it back.
It just felt natural now.
After brushing his teeth and making breakfast, Yumoe watched as Shizuka finally emerged, still yawning. She slipped off her thin nightgown, put on a bra, then her ever-familiar button-up shirt and tight black slacks. A look that screamed "mature office lady."
She ate like a queen. Once satisfied, she slipped on her low black heels. At 170 cm, she didn't need anything taller—and truthfully, she didn't want to tower over Yumoe either.
Not that she'd admit that.
"It's time to go, Yumoe."
"Mm."
As always, they walked hand-in-hand—Shizuka beaming the entire way—toward Soubu High.
Ever since Yumoe had started attending school, this short walk had become her favorite part of the day. Even if it meant waking up earlier, it was worth it.
At the school gate, a girl with long, waist-length purple hair brightened the moment she saw him.
"…Shizuka Hiratsuka-sensei?"
She whispered softly, then turned away without approaching.
Yumoe suddenly tilted his head. Though his eyes were covered in black cloth, he instinctively turned toward the girl's back as she walked away.
"What is it?" Shizuka asked curiously.
Yumoe smiled gently and shook his head. "Nothing."
Being a blind transfer student, Yumoe hadn't really blended in. Despite his good looks, he remained a loner. Not that he minded.
Smiling to please others? Trying to fit into some cliquey friend group? No thanks.
Japan's school culture was… weird.Wanna fit in? You'd better become someone's tool.Respect for upperclassmen? More like oppression.
Gross.
"Hmm?"
Yumoe stopped walking. A calm, steady breath had halted directly in front of him.
It was the girl from yesterday—the one from the alley.
"Can I help you?" Yumoe asked politely, flashing a warm smile. "Do you need something?"
"I want to talk to you," the purple-haired girl said, her voice low and serious.
"Sure," Yumoe nodded. "Where to?"
It's not like he could refuse a pretty girl, especially since he had roughed up those delinquents yesterday. Maybe she wanted him to admit it? It's not like anyone would believe a blind kid beat up two thugs.
"Come with me."
She boldly wrapped her arms around his and began walking. Gasps erupted from nearby students.
Yumoe blinked in surprise. Second meeting and I'm already getting arm service?
He sighed for the third time that morning, mourning his arm once more.
Still, he allowed her to guide him, matching her pace with calm precision. No stumbles. No hesitations.
Originally, he had planned to find Yukino today. Just being near her made him stronger. Sleeping near her boosted his physical foundation.
But now, he had a new plan—this girl could make him stronger too.
"Cute Shizuka. Yukinoshita Yukino…"
"So who's this new heroine?" Yumoe wondered silently.
At first, he'd assumed this was just the world of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU when he realized he was taken in by Shizuka.
But with time, and the names he'd overheard at school—Yukino, Kasumigaoka Utaha, Eriri—he realized this wasn't just one world.
It was a slice-of-life anime multiverse.
Wonderful.
And lucky for him, just getting close to these heroines made him stronger.
This new girl? If she had the same effect, she had to be a main heroine too.
Rooftop.
It was quiet. The breeze was gentle, and from here, you could see the whole campus. No one came up here much. The perfect place for a conversation.
Creak.
The door shut behind them.
Yumoe stood quietly, feeling the wind and the faint scent of the girl beside him. Peaceful.
She said nothing at first, just stared at him.
"…Are you really blind?" she asked finally, voice uncertain.
After all, he had walked perfectly, dodged every obstacle, and kept pace like he could see everything.
Yumoe chuckled softly. "Wanna find out?"
He was used to this reaction. People couldn't understand him. But that was fine.
After all… he wasn't just any blind guy.
He was the kind of blind guy who could do what no other blind man could do.
A "Divine Blind," if you will.
"…Can I?"
