Chapter 13: Fufu: I didn’t kill on purpose, that human was just too weak!

Rias wasn't weak. Among young devils, she was considered one of the strongest.

Especially since she inherited her mother's Bael-line destruction magic. Though not as adept as her brother, compared to these Fallen Angels, her pure-blooded devil heritage clearly put her above them.

Unfortunately, she was alone.

If Akeno were with her, their coordination would be flawless.

But now, facing three enemies and needing to protect Asia, Rias's attacks were cautious, just as Mittelt had said.

And the Fallen Angels had light-based powers, highly destructive and especially effective against devils. It was a tough fight, and Rias was just barely holding them off.

Knowing this, the Fallen Angels kept targeting Asia. They weren't worried about killing her—Rias would protect her. All they needed was one opening to snatch Asia away.

Eventually, Mittelt and the others started getting impatient.

This Rias Gremory was tougher than expected. Even burdened and outnumbered, she was still holding on. If this dragged on, her servants might show up.

They gave up on killing her. Now they just wanted to take Asia and go.

They hadn't forgotten whose territory this was. Rias wasn't the only pure-blood devil here—the Sitri heiress was in this town too.

If she showed up, they'd be in real trouble.

And then, the moment that made Mittelt grit her teeth arrived.

"Ara ara, I thought the president was in trouble, but she's just playing with Fallen Angels?"

A gentle voice, like that of a traditional Japanese beauty, drifted in.

A magic circle flared to life, and three figures emerged from the light.

Mittelt and the others turned pale.

Reinforcements had arrived!

"Damn it!"

"Take Asia and run!"

"All eyes on Asia!"

Rias smiled with relief as the magic circle rose. Mittelt and her group lunged for Asia.

"Asia—!"

Sensing the incoming light energy, Rias finally reacted.

Asia looked in terror at the claws of the Fallen Angel reaching for her.

At the same time, from the ruined chapel, a silver-haired priest stood up with a cursed spear, aiming it at Rias.

"Die, filthy devil!"

"Fou—!"

Watching the show long enough,

Fou gave a shout and launched herself from Asia's arms. Her tiny claw struck the approaching Fallen Angel.

Seeing this, the older male Fallen Angel's expression darkened. Holy light gathered in his hand, forming a spear.

The air howled. Its destructive force was overwhelming.

To him, this would crush the little creature instantly.

"Fou, no—!"

Asia screamed, rushing to protect Fou.

But then something unbelievable happened.

The moment the light spear touched Fou's claw, a deafening explosion rocked the area. Everyone was stunned.

When they came to, the ground was torn apart like a battlefield.

The ruined chapel was now rubble.

As for the Fallen Angel—gone. Not even dust remained.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh—!"

The silver-haired priest was caught in the shockwave, his body bloodied beyond recognition.

Fou landed softly, yawning like nothing happened.

She figured swatting one Fallen Angel was fine. Her master said non-humans were hers to deal with.

Humans… well, if they were annoying, she'd smack them too. But she tried not to.

She hadn't killed on purpose. The guy was just weak… and in the way.

Not her fault, right? Weak and close—what did he expect?

See? She had principles. She followed her master's words!

If Ren heard this, he'd probably laugh. What a cheeky little beast.

Rias stood frozen, mouth agape.

Mittelt and Kalawarna were shaking in midair.

Even Akeno and the others, newly arrived, were speechless.

Koneko reacted fastest, moving to Rias's side, eyes fixed on Fou.

So it was true… that Manager…

Asia stared in disbelief.

"Fou...?"

"Fou~"

With a sweet chirp, Fou jumped back into Asia's arms, like nothing had happened.

Asia held her, still dazed. Then, sensing Fou's affection, she hugged her tight with gratitude.

"Fou… did you save me? Thank you! Are you hurt?"

"Fou~ Fou~"

Fou shook her head, snuggling against Asia's cheek.

She felt she'd made the right choice. She'd been worried Asia might fear her strength.

Even Rias had been shaken by it.

It was normal to fear what one couldn't understand.

But Fou liked kind, simple people. In some ways, she was like Merlin—both loved beauty and kindness.

Rias, finally recovering, looked at Fou with lingering fear.

That paw strike… even she wouldn't have survived that…

She couldn't believe that little creature from Ren's store was this strong.

Wait… could that massive presence from before have been…?

She started piecing things together.

Kiba and Akeno moved to protect Rias, eyeing Fou cautiously.

"Fou..."

Sensing something, Fou turned toward a cluster of trees.

Without a word, she slipped from Asia's arms and padded away.

"Fou? Where are you going?"

Asia stood to follow.

Rias turned too, watching both the departing Fallen Angels with caution.

"Akeno, Kiba, Koneko—don't let those Fallen Angels escape!"

"Understood!"

The three nodded and moved to intercept.

Then came rustling, and a tall figure emerged. Fou leapt onto him.

Everyone stared in shock.

Even the Fallen Angels halted mid-air.

"Ren!"

"Raynare!"
