Over 70% of the population vanished, transforming into monstrous beings. The wealthy and fortunate managed to escape to the Sky-Ark, leaving billions behind on the ravaged Earth. A century later, under a perpetually overcast sky, the remaining humans are enslaved, forced to live in ruins and the Undercity, serving three dominant monster factions: The Silent Rot (former humans now absorbing memories), The Vitae Dominion (graceful yet cruel vital energy predators), and The Feral Collective (bestial beings transformed by mutated lunar cycles).

Kaelen Vance, a young man from the Undercity, grows up with a fierce determination to uncover the truth behind the Great Rift—not just to escape a life of servitude, but to find a way to end the disaster plaguing Earth. A week before he is forced to join one of the monster factions, Kaelen embarks on his secret mission. However, his plans shatter when an accident in an ancient ruined laboratory traps him in an explosion of residual energy that fuses the genetic essences of all three monster factions within him.

Kaelen not only survives; he transforms into The Apex Chimera, a hybrid being wielding powers from Thralls, Crimson Eidolons, and Lunar Strikers. He is now capable of absorbing memories, moving with shadow-like speed, and partially transforming into a beast.
