In an instant, the entire hall fell silent.
"Agent, are you making a mistake?"
Percival fiercely shielded Calista behind him, glaring at the aggressive agents.
"I'll say it again, Mr. Tremaine. We don't make arrests without evidence!"
"Put your hands up and come with us to the station!"
Percival looked at Calista, who was on the verge of tears, and quickly softened his tone.
"Alright, alright, we'll go with you. I just have one request—don't scare Calista!"
"She's never been through anything like this. I'm afraid this will traumatize her."
Hearing this, I let out a bitter laugh.
So even at a critical moment like this, Percival's first thought was to protect his Calista.
In that case, was my death well-deserved?
I silently floated beside the police car, my heart bleeding as I watched Percival whisper sweet nothings to Calista.
"Percy, I'm so scared. Why are they arresting us?"
"We didn't hurt Liliana. Are they going to try and frame us?"
