Marcus Cale woke in a Tarbean physician's recovery ward with smoke still in his lungs, four years and three months before Kvothe of the Edema-Ruh arrives at the University, inside the body of a modest textile merchant's son who had been studying sympathy with a junior Arcanum tutor. The discipline already waited for him: an Yllish braided cord in his coat pocket read him on the third morning and locked a substrate that no Commonwealth-trained sympathist has previously mapped, because no one in the Arcanum has a Stanford formal-language semantics degree. The system is called ELEVENTH CANDLE — four overlapping crafts kept separate by the saga's world for centuries: sympathy, sygaldry, Yllish knotwork, and Edema-Ruh story-craft, woven by a computational linguist's eye into a single institutional framework.
My favourit novel in the world. i hope you will do it justice. always hoped for kingkiller chronicle fanfic. i put 5 stars before even reading. i hope i will not need to chsnge the rsting.
Ngl i started this on a whim and it hooked me honestly, the attention to moral complexity makes a difference. the author clearly put thought into this. glad i gave this a shot.
