Chapter 570: Flood Dragon (4)

When we describe a person's mental state, we often use the word "spirited."

We see a proud and solitary pine tree, clinging to the precipitous cliffs; or a majestic, unparalleled tiger, and we feel, "So spirited!"

"Spirited" refers to the pure inner life force of living beings as well as the outward expression of an auric field that blends with the environment. All things in the world have their own spirit, although some are dazzlingly bright while others are dim and lackluster.

The Tao evolves all things in the universe, with heaven and earth among them, and even heaven and earth have their own spirit. This spirit is often exaggerated and adorned with a series of lofty terms: such as the Mechanism of the Great Tao, and the Destiny of Mountains and Rivers, etc.

In fact, it's simple. Comparing heaven and earth to a person and all things in the world to knowledge, cultivation, wisdom... When these things reach a certain height, the spirit of a person naturally manifests itself.
