Sneaking into the Dream

The answer from Old Time Tea was rather puzzling to the other elfins. Everyone could see that Zhang Zian was sound asleep. It did not need to state the obvious to them.

"According to my analysis, he does not have any physical problems. He is merely asleep, although...this kind of sleep is very abnormal. Sihwa's voice is so loud that he should have been awoken by it a long time ago."

Old Time Tea explained while using his claws to open his eyelids again. "You see, his eye is moving quickly. Humans have given this kind of sleep a name. It is called 'rapid eye movement sleep,' which means he is dreaming some sort of lifelike dream... The problem is that it is a rather shallow type of sleep. He should have already woken up."

"So why didn't he wake up?" Fina suppressed her anger. "Is this possible that he's deliberately pretending to be asleep when, in fact, he is already awake?"
