Han Jin slowly picked up the fire element magic crystal on the table, and after some contemplation, he put it into his mouth. The energy of the magic crystal was very unstable, and with a little guidance, it streamed out like a flood. Han Jin had made sufficient preparation for this and his willpower had been improved after his basis construction. Now his body was like a piece of sponge that could never be saturated and was absorbing all the available energy without much trouble.
This magic crystal contained almost ninety Yuan worth of energy, while the remaining part was the purest form of fire element. Since Han Jin had his lesson last time with the dark elements, he was very cautious this time. But just as he was about to expel the elements of fire from his body by using expiration and inspiration, an idea flashed in his mind: were the fire elements really useless?
His hand turned red and even started glittering. He immediately pushed all the fire elements to his Laogong point, then took out a piece of white paper, and started drawing something on it carefully.
The fire elements turned into numerous faint sparks and fell down on the surface of the paper, creating a charm that had never been created before. Han Jin checked it carefully for a while and nodded his head in satisfaction. He got down from the bed and walked to the side of the window and pushed it open. The world outside was strange to him, and he did not know if the same laws of nature applied here as in his last world. If he wanted to know the true power of the charm, he had to experiment himself.
Patience was not the only thing required to unblock the small heavenly circuitand; time was also a vital part. The light of dawn had started shining in the distance by the time Han Jin finished the process, but the street outside was still empty. Han Jin set his sight on a decently sized rock on the street and threw the paper charm at it. The charm instantly turned into a ball of dazzling and fervent flame, streaking toward the rock with a sharp, whistling sound.
"Boom..." A loud bang followed. Amid the splattering flame, the stone had exploded into pieces. The power of a simple charm of fire was far beyond what Han Jin had expected. He was left dazed for a long time before he came to his senses. He hurriedly closed the window before he jumped out of his bed.
"What's going on?" Came the voice of Sunier.
"Was that magic? Why didn't I sense any fluctuation of magic?" Cessacioun said in a confused voice.
"It came from there, let's go downstairs and have a look!" Sunier found the target of the magic and shouted.
Han Jin was lying motionless in bed with a smile on his face. He finally regained some of his confidence. If a simple fire charm could be this powerful, what would happen if he manage to create the Three True Fire, the Five True Fire, the Red Lotus Fire, the Sky-Burning Hellfire, and everything else? And these were just fire charms, what about the thunder charms?!
Maybe because he successfully finished the intermediate stage of basis construction, or because of the hope that Han Jin had seen, he had a very peaceful and restful sleep that morning and didn't wake up until noon.
When he walked downstairs, Moxinke, Sunier and the others were talking about something. They greeted Han Jin with a smile except Michelle, whose joyful face turned blue immediately as he saw him approaching. He stood up and very knowingly walked toward the kitchen. It was just a small hotel and Michelle was both the owner and the waiter, thus he was bound to have to do some hard labor sometime.
"What are you talking about?" Han Jin asked with a smile.
"Young master, some treefolk attacked the town yesterday. It was an eighth grade holy animal! I heard it killed quite a few people before a group of mercenaries and the law enforcement team slayed it."
"An eighth grade holy animal? Where is the magic crystal??" Han Jin asked immediately without much thinking. Nowadays, as soon as someone mentioned holy animals in front of him, the first thing he would think of was their magic crystals.
"What does the magic crystal have to do with us? It's not like we were involved in killing the beast." Moxinke laughed.
Just then, the street became increasingly bustling. Steelberg ran out to have a look and then waved to Han Jin, "Young Master, come and look, that is the treefolk. They are dragging the treefolk here."
"They just want to drag it to the edge of the town as a warning to the other holy animals." Cessacioun frowned: "It's strange that this many holy animals left the Tarasha mountains and attacked the villages. The dozen of human-faced eagles we encountered, the earth bear and now this? This is quite strange."
Han Jin went to the gate and lost his interest after a look at the treefolk. It was a wooden creature that looked very hard to be swallowed. Moreover, his current appetite was already scaring the others. If he started to gnaw on a piece of wood...It was embarrassing to even think about!"
What's more, the meat of holy animals was very tough. Even the human-faced eagle's meat was still as hard as stone even after a long time of roasting, let alone an eighth-grade treefolk. The little amount of energy he could absorb was probably not worth it considering he would destroy his teeth in the process!
Han Jin shook his head and walked back. But just after a few steps, he suddenly stopped and had a feeling that he was missing something.
He then turned around very slowly and stared at the body of the treefolk with his unblinking eyes. After a few seconds, he suddenly took out three golden coins, which was all he had left, with his trembling hand and said, "Moxinke, please, go and buy that treefolk for me."
"Puff..." Moxinke spat out the water he was drinking. He exclaimed with his eyes wide open, "Are you kidding? Don't tell me you want to eat a treefolk too!!"
The others all turned toward Han Jin with a strange expression on their faces as well.
"Stop talking, just go! I need it to do something important!!" Han Jin said in an urgent tone.
Moxinke looked at Han Jin's face for a moment, then stood up silently. He took the coins from Han Jin's hand and strode outside.
The magic crystal of the treefolk had been taken out already, and the dead body was worth close to nothing. Thus, with some bargaining, Moxinke managed to but it with only ten silver coins.
He dragged it into the hotel and stood aside, then started to stare at Han Jin curiously. Meanwhile, Han Jin simply rubbed his hands in anticipation as he circled the treefolk excitedly. Combined with the glitter in his eyes, it was obvious that he was extremely happy.
Han Jin did have ample reason to be excited. The wood from treefolk emitted a faint scent that indicated it was an extremely good material. It might even match the quality of thousand year old peach woods! The might of an army calling charm was, to a large extent, dependent on the material that made it. Thus, a giant made from paper charm was as weak as a wisp of smoke, but if one managed to create one from the ancient peach wood, its would be a hundred times more powerful!
"Lend me your sword!" Han Jin held out his hand.
Moxinke took out his sword and passed it to Han Jin silently. Han Jin stamped on the body of the treefolk a few times, then swun down the sword with all his strength.
"Bang!" Despite the sound, the body of the treefolk was somehow unharmed. On the contrary, it was the sword in Han Jin's hands that bounced back a fair distance. However, that only made Han Jin more excited. He exclaimed, "Nice! The tougher the wood is, the more powerful the charm will be!"
"What are you planning?" Moxinke finally shouted.
Han Jin didn't reply. He started to continuously hack at the treefolk, but even after five or six strikes, he only left a few white marks on the wood.
"My sword..." Moxinke couldn't bear it anymore and grabbed his sword, "My dear Young Lord, whatever you want, please just tell me so I can do it for you! But can you please stop torturing my sword???"
"I want wooden bricks about this long and this wide." Han Jin gestured.
"You want to make puppets??" Sunier suddenly stood up.
