In a remote jungle nestled between Chu City and Whitewater City within the Da  Xuan Country, a thin and frail figure was leaning against a thick tree trunk.  Both of his legs were spread apart in a relaxed manner. 

This figure belonged to a thirteen or fourteen-year-old teenager. 

Aside from his unusually pale face, the boy had fairly common facial features.  His clothes were loose-fitting and a bright shining steel sword was carelessly thrown by his side.

"Since both Senior Brothers have rewarded you, I, as your master, will not disappoint you either. Here is a talisman I used in the past. Take it for your protection," the Daoist nun surnamed Zhong said with a pleased expression. After thinking for a moment, she also produced a pale yellow object from her sleeve and handed it to Liu Ming with a smile.


"Thank you, Master, eh, this is..." Liu Ming took the object and examined it carefully, and couldn't help being somewhat astonished.


The so-called talisman was actually a simple inner armor, woven from strips of yellow bamboo, and its entire body was sewn together with some kind of unknown silver thread.


Each bamboo strip was densely inscribed with five-colored spirit patterns, but the colors were so dim and blurred that they could hardly be detected without close observation.
