In a remote jungle nestled between Chu City and Whitewater City within the Da  Xuan Country, a thin and frail figure was leaning against a thick tree trunk.  Both of his legs were spread apart in a relaxed manner. 

This figure belonged to a thirteen or fourteen-year-old teenager. 

Aside from his unusually pale face, the boy had fairly common facial features.  His clothes were loose-fitting and a bright shining steel sword was carelessly thrown by his side.

"Oh, so you set an ambush right at the entrance of the cave, aiming to rob newcomers who passed by, engaging in these murderous and larcenous acts?" Liu Ming said with a smirk, idly playing with the bone knife that had originally belonged to the other man.


"Fellow Daoist, please forgive me! I simply didn't recognize Mount Tai. If I had known that your strength was so formidable, I wouldn't have dared to offend by even running away. The main issue is that it's near the end of the month, and I haven't mined many ores. After exchanging for the antidote, I'm left with next to nothing, so I waited near the cave entrance hoping to try my luck and see if I could encounter some newcomers and snatch some spiritual items to exchange for food," the gaunt man explained hastily, fluttering his skinny arms as he spoke.


"From what you've said, it seems that there aren't many new miners coming to this place?" Liu Ming inquired, ignoring the man's pleas for mercy.
