The underground passage was an uneven stone staircase descending deeper than expected.
Liu Ming walked for about the time it took to eat a meal before reaching the end of the staircase. Then, before his eyes, a brightened space appeared—an underground cavern spanning several acres.
Deeper within the cavern, a narrow grey stone path about three feet wide could faintly be seen, its destination unknown. The walls on either side of the cave were littered with rocks and several red plants of varying heights.
Oddly, the cavern overhead was shrouded in patches of pale green luminescence, casting the entire floor of the cavern in a dazzling and mottled light. If not for the journey through the deep stone corridor beforehand, it would have been impossible to feel that this was hundreds of feet below ground.
After a moment's thought, Liu Ming continued towards the grey stone path ahead.
