After Lucica told the child what Gao Yang had said, the child was not satisfied. He shook his head and pointed at the pistol on Gao Yang's waist, babbling away.
"He doesn't want money; he wants your pistol," Lucica explained.
Surprised by Lucica's words, Gao Yang responded, "What a joke, I can't give him my gun. Nobody would give him a gun."
Gao Yang's reply seemed to disappoint the child, but he did not give up. He pointed at the grenades hanging on Cui Bo's chest and began to speak, clearly implying that if not a gun, then a grenade would do.
Gao Yang, slightly bemused, said, "Tell him if he tells me where Teodulo is, I'll give him a hundred US dollars. If he doesn't want to talk, then forget it, what's a child doing with a grenade?"
