Gao Yang was very pleased with Eileen's situation and her attitude, but he was still quite surprised when he found out Eileen didn't come from Delta, as he had thought, but from the German KSK instead.


The surprise was brief, and after a little thought, he understood. The process of forming Germany's KSK was quite interesting; among the world-renowned Special Forces, KSK probably had the shortest history.


The historically older German Special Forces, GSG9, were strictly speaking a police force, so although Germany had a strong force, the military still lacked a directly controlled Special Forces unit. In 1994, during the Rwandan genocide, eleven Germans were taken hostage and the helpless German National Defense Forces could only seek help from Belgium, which sent Special Forces to rescue the hostages.
