Morgan sent Simon, and Simon gathered a lot of people, spending a long time and plenty of money in Ukraine looking for that gun, but found nothing—not even a clue. It wasn't until the situation in Ukraine began to rapidly deteriorate that Simon withdrew his search team from Ukraine.


Actually, the deteriorating situation in Ukraine was one of the reasons Morgan gave up the search, but it wasn't the main reason. They gave up mainly because there was no hope in sight, which forced Morgan to abandon the effort.
