As Roland alighted his car, he looked through the window, searching for the other party. When he laid eyes on her sitting at her table, a dazzling smile surfaced on his face.
He left the car to his driver and made his way inside. In the future, Carter would be the one escorting and driving him around, but such duties had yet to start as he needed to settle in first.
As soon as he opened the door to the restaurant, a greeter stepped forward to welcome him.
"Good evening, sir. Welcome to—"
However, Roland completely ignored him as he strode toward the table with the young woman. Despite dressing modestly, she was still the center of attention in the restaurant; looking at her, it was like everything else nearby was a blur and she was the only fixed point. She emanated a certain confident charisma which was impossible to ignore.
Roland watched the people around her sneaking glances at her and couldn't help but smile at the sight. She was simply reading through a menu without paying any heed to it, unaware of the effect she had on people.
At that moment, she looked up and saw Roland. Instantly, a humungous smile appeared on her youthful face, and she leaped up to give him a hug.
"Roland!" she cheered. Then she suddenly pouted.
"Why are you late? Was it a girl?" she asked as she narrowed her eyes at him.
Roland could only chuckle. "There was an issue of sorts at work."
"Of sorts?"
"I'll tell you about it over dinner."
She nodded.
They sat down at the table under the gazes of everyone in the surroundings. Before Roland had arrived, the table had already attracted everyone's attention. However, now that there were two people there with silver hair and a powerful presence, no one could look away.
"So, Tilly, how have you been?"
"I'm doing well. I'll finish college soon, and I can start working with you then."
"Are you sure you want to leave college and work for your brother straight away? Wouldn't it be better to get some real-world experience?"
"As long as you don't give me a job that's too easy, I believe I'll be able to learn and grow there."
"Well, you need to get your degree first. Ha ha… This feels like it's turned into a job interview. Let's put aside work this evening. How's everything else going? Do you have a boyfriend?"
"You know what I say about getting a boyfriend, they need to at least match up to you."
Roland chuckled and said jokingly, "There's your problem. If you have the perfect brother, how will you ever find someone?"
"That's exactly it," she replied, downcast. "I still haven't found anyone who meets my standards."
Roland didn't know how to respond and encouraged, "Worry not, I'm sure you'll meet someone."
He paused for a second and then continued, "Just look at me, I'm finally dating someone."
Tilly immediately looked up and stared at him blankly, shock apparent on her face.
"Who?"
