The enemy of the Gods

"So you really turned into a human... This is a first time I see something like this." while the man's words made it sound like he was interested, his tone was the opposite.

Keita remained silent in response. There was no reason to hide in this man's eye that could see as deep as the soul.

"You are one to talk. What's with that appearance?" Keita responded.

The man wore no clothes. While his appearance was that of a human, he could not be called that. The aura surrounding him felt deep, like that of a king. An existence that stood above everything. He had long black hair, almost touching the ground and a slender but sturdy body. One of his eyes was closed permanently but his face was as beautiful as a maiden's of legend. He was a naked man in the middle of a mountain but anyone who saw him would be compelled to prostrate him or herself in front of him.

"And besides what's with that greeting? It doesn't sound like you at all." Keita seemed a bit agitated but he was just nitpicking.

"I guess that's right. It hasn't been that long. Since that peace meeting or something, correct? I just thought to imitate your kind." the man responded, calm as ever.

"I guess so. That meeting... A millennium ago I think." Keita said.

"Hmm... A millennium... It truly hasn't been that long then." the one eyed man said.

It has been more than a millennium since Keita saw that man. Elves, Demons and Lordes were the three major immortal races of this world, untouched by the passage of time and disease. Even for those three though, a thousand years was a very long time. There was only one race that had a completely different sense of time. Creatures that stood at the top of everything. And this, was a man that stood even further.

"Is that fun?" the man asked.

"What? The hot spring? There are some of you that go into volcanoes right? It's something like that. Why don't you get in? It's tiring to look up to you." Keita responded.

The man with no further words, got in to the water and sat directly opposite to Keita.

"I don't understand it." the man said.

"I don't either. But the heat feels good for some reason."

"Hmm..."

They remained silent for a while. Keita just gazed at the stars, leaving the man to his thoughts for a while.

Silence was something normal for the naked man. These words were already more than he ever talked as long as Keita remembered in their two meetings.

"I still don't understand." he said after a while.

"I guess it's not hot enough for you then? How about you try getting into a volcano?" Keita asked.

"I did once. It didn't feel any different."

"I wonder if there is something that can be called hot in your eyes."

"Alcohol. It feels hot."

"You drink?"

The man nodded with a smile.

"Humans aren't good for much but they made good alcohol when others were drinking muddy water. I'm glad I didn't destroy them." the man's speech was awkward to say the least. As if he wasn't used to talking. He could talk of things like the annihilation of a race as normally as his preference in alcohol as well as things that happened in the beginning of the world itself.

Silence again.

"Do you have any?" the man suddenly asked.

"Alcohol? No, I don't drink." Keita responded.

"I see..." the said man with his face down.

"Say Welzour, what are you here for?" Keita asked.

"What do you think?" Welzour the Dread smiled mischievously.

Keita pretend to think for a while, to match his slow speech.

"Well, to kill me of course." he responded after a while.

"You don't seem very worried."

"I guess so."

The atmosphere changed rapidly. The man begun to show his true colors, his rage. The water started to boil around him and his hair floated in the air, as he released a fraction of his magic power.

"Can you possibly think I can't do it? Pride of the Seven Deadly Sins." he said.

"No, if you wished me dead, you could do it in one strike. And it's not Pride. My name is Keita Raigon now." Keita calmly responded in this unbearable heat radiating from Welzour's body.

Welzour's rage, retracted. He stayed silent once again.

"I guess you already know then." he eventually said.

"How could I not? I know you better than anyone."

Welzour the Dread and Pride of the Seven Deadly Sins. The two have been once called the two strongest. Their battle which crowned Pride the strongest existence in the world has passed through legend. The two have only met once more, in a peace meeting between Dragonborn and Demons. They did not exchange any words at that time, as they both have been present as guards. Not that either of them would ever admit being placed bellow a king or a Demon Lord. But as existences with no other equal, they both understood each other better than most. It wasn't something like they understood each other through combat but because of their strength itself.

"I am not worthy to be your opponent. If you killed me now, it would be the same as killing me before I got strong enough to be a threat. No different than admitting defeat. Isn't that why you came in that form?" Keita asked.

Welzour nodded.

"I thought this way it would be easier to talk."

Polymorph, was a Spell only belonging to the Dragons. They could take the appearance of other races and walk among them. It stood out from Shape-sifters though. They could only take one form from each of the races. They didn't change their appearance but their species. Many Dragons thought of the Spell as taboo, since being a Dragon was a pride. But then again, Dragons disliked breeding among their selves so the Spell was mainly used to relief themselves with the other races. Some even stayed in their polymorphed state and lived among the Dragonborn as deities. The fact that Welzour took the from of a human to talk to Keita was supposed to be an honor like no other but neither Keita nor Welzour cared about such things.

"So, you just came to talk then?" Keita asked.

It wasn't like these two were friends. If anything, they should be called enemies. Keita even took one of Welzour's eyes as Pride. But he held no grudge. The only thing in their minds was deciding who was stronger.

"No, I was asked to kill you. But after seeing you, I decided not to." Welzour responded after a brief silence.

"That's surprising. I thought of you more of a free spirit. To come all this way on someone's behest. Who is it I wonder that commands Welzour the Dread?" Keita teased.

Welzour, smiled instead. Mocking Keita for his confident teasing.

"Dragons have no God. But they have someone they call king. The one who stands in command of those you worship. Ogath, the Dragon. Pride, you seem to have made an enemy of all the gods!" Welzour laughed.
