Journey (3)

"Argggghh..."

Chang Guan woke up. As always, he felt a force attaching him to his bed, stopping him from leaving. He looked around his tent with sleepiness clearly visible in his eyes. Chang Guan truly wasn't a morning person, so he thought, `I'm tired, do I really have to get up? It's fine, I'll just keep relaxing´. And as such, he closed his eyes and continued resting.

While laying down he started to absorb more Qi and merge it with his cultivation. He was shocked to notice that already before he began cultivating, his energy level had increased. As such, he thought `I wonder if that was because of the enlightenment... AHH!´

Suddenly with that train of thought, he remembered what had happened the day before. Chang Guan wondered how he had managed to forget something so important, but what he didn't know was that since enlightenment comes with such a large amount of information, it isn't too uncommon for people to completely forget about an enlightenment for all of their lives.

This happened because your soul would be overloaded and as such your brain would seal the cause of it - the enlightenment.

Now that he had remembered all of yesterday, he began to slowly clear out his thoughts.

"Damn!"

The enlightenment yesterday was truly eye-opening for Chang Guan, and he learned many things from it. He had not only improved his cultivation, getting closer to the Green Mask stage but also strengthened his Dao heart.

Yet, despite this, that really wasn't much compared to the final thing he had gotten. With that enlightenment, he had understood a lot about Ninjutsu.

"I was this close..."

This is why Chang Guan was agitated. He had understood a lot about Ninjutsu, but he hadn't fully understood it. He felt as though if that enlightenment had lasted for just another half a second, he could have comprehended it. Trying to console himself, he thought, `Oh well, it's not like it's impossible for me to perceive it by myself.´

As far as he understood, Ninjutsu was about circulating Qi around your Dantian. This he knew before. Unfortunately, he had never understood why the colour changed for every level. Finally, he understood it, each colour change is actually an overall quality change.

The reason the colour of the Qi changes is because as it is compressed into a higher quality Qi, it will also have a more concentrated colour. Unfortunately, that was the extent of his knowledge. He still didn't know how the colour changed.

If it was merely the compression of Qi, it would just become less transparent, which means that there was some unknown force being compressed together with the Qi. As for what force... He had no clue.

After finally having sorted through his thoughts, Chang Guan continued absorbing energy until he was no longer able to.

When Chang Guan's cultivation was fully satiated, he focused on increasing his R/s. After the previous enlightenment, his R/s had increased from 65 to 67 R/s, which was approaching the barrier of the Blue Mask stage. Due to this, he felt very satisfied with his progress and was motivated to continue working hard.

He continued cultivating until 11 o' clock, when Yoshida Taiki, entered the tent. Although they slept in the same tent, Chang Guan hadn't seen him because, despite his looks, Yoshida Taiki was an early bird. Yoshida Taiki came to wake him up and to pack the tent. As he entered the tent he said,

"Hey Chang Guan, It's time for you to wake up!"

"Yeah, Yeah, I'm awake"

"Hmmm, you like sleeping don't you? You went to sleep way before me and yet I still woke up first."

Hearing this, Chang Guan replied half-jokingly,

"Yeah, shut up. I don't respect people who don't respect sleep! Insult me however you want but if you mess with sleep... Well, let's just say I've warned you"

Since he had finished joking, Chang Guan jumped out of his bed and went outside the tent. Although someone of his strength would be fine even if he missed a couple of meals, he still enjoyed eating, and as such went to eat breakfast.

The breakfast was tasteless white bread but Chang Guan ate it regardless since he enjoyed living as a mortal; eating 3 times a day and sleeping for at least 10 hours.

During breakfast, he noticed that Itou Ayaka was also eating at that exact moment. Itou Ayaka seemed like your average innocent 11-year-old girl enjoying life. Just by looking at her, he could tell that she had begun cultivating.

Based on his estimate, it might take her a few months to reach the first stage of Qi Condensation. With this in mind, he thought, `Ohhh? Looks like she actually has quite a bit of talent for cultivation´.

He finished his breakfast quite fast and decided that it couldn't hurt to try and help Yoshida Taiki to pack up everything. with this in mind, he headed back to his tent, where he met up with Yoshida Taiki. Upon meeting, Chang Guan said,

"Oi, Taiki! Looks like you could use an extra pair of hands."

"Fine I guess, just don't break anything"

"Heh, as if."

And with this short conversation, they began working. Or rather, Yoshida Taiki began working. Chang Guan observed him and learned from his work. Chang Guan actually found it surprisingly fun to do physical labor just like a mortal.

An hour later, and everything was ready. Yoshida Taiki and Chang Guan met with Itou Hachirou, who told them to wait in their carriage. It didn't take long before the journey continued.
