Who Dared To Save Her...

High in the sky hung a full moon and under its silver glow, the bustling night life of the city seemed to gain some extra fervor.

At the top of the forty two story Medical Science and Research building, sitting on the guard rails with her back toward the city view and her face turned toward the sky as tears streamed down her face, Chen Ming Yun wore an infinitely beautiful smile that could outshine the moon itself.

Chen Ming Yun was a name that was known far and wide, all across the globe as the genius doctor of the next century. If Yama called for you at 6:00, once she was present, you would definitely live to 6:01. She was the highly acclaimed Godly Doctor and yet, she had just stood by, only minutes ago and watched her younger brother die when all it would have took to save him were a few silver needles.

Her brother wasn't sick, nor was he injured and he was even more of a genius in the fields of medicine and science than she could ever hope to be. So how had such a person died? Because he chose to of course.

On his own accord, he had willingly drank the poison handed to him to put a stop to the impending doom hanging over their family due to the ignorance and arrogance of several fools who didn't know their limits and couldn't control their tongues. She had to stand by and watch her baby brother give up his life and it was for people who didn't even care.

Recalling the apathetic look that woman had directed at her brother when he had been practically begging for her affection and approval on his final breath, Ming Yun's pair of seductive, cinnabar red lip parted as she smiled devilishly at the moon.

Her silky, ink black hair was tied in a high ponytail, her white doctor's coat billowing behind her in the wind and a distance away, lying on the ground, her pair of frameless glasses glinted in the moonlight.

"Fuck the world and everyone in it. Ah, they should all just burn!"

Now that her brother was dead, with all those empty talents and people who only knew how to boast and squander money, the family would certainly be looking toward her to keep their prestige afloat.

Even if she were to make her hatred for them known to the world, as long as she was alive, just the fact that they were the God Doctor's relatives would be enough to fluff those bastards' to high heaven. But, what if she was no longer alive?

Letting loose a small, depreciating laugh, Ming Yun released her grip on the rails under her and tumbled down—down, and down towards the pavement below.

"Xiao Feng..."

Looking at the moon through blurry, tear filled eyes, the smile on Ming Yun's lips suddenly crumbled and her expression turned into one of bitter resentment as she released a heart wrenching scream full of anger hate and deep, deep pain. She was about to hit the pavement.

Chen Ming Yun closed her eyes and waited for death to take her. However, even after waiting a long time, there was nothing. There was no impact, no pain and she certainly didn't feel like she was dead. It couldn't be that her death had been foiled, right?

Snapping her eyes open to see who dared to save her, Chen Ming Yun was stunned when all she saw before her eyes was a world of white mist.

"What?!"

Where was this? How did she get here?

Looking left and looking right, Chen Ming Yun couldn't see a thing and even when she reached out with her A Level soul power, it was like she was trapped in a glass box and her soul perception was being bounced off the walls around her making her feel disoriented.

Irritated, Chen Ming Yun wanted to walk over and peek over the side of the bridge to see what was below there but her feet remained firmly rooted to the ground.

"What now?! I can't even walk?"

Ming Yun tried to go left, she tried to go right and she even tried going back but her feet wouldn't budge as if she had been glued in place.

Why was this happening to her? She had only wanted to die okay! Was that such a bad thing?

Standing in place with her arms folded defiantly, Chen Ming Yun looked at the bridge in front of her where she couldn't see beyond a meter in front of her own face. She didn't know what was hidden in that mist and she didn't know what kind of place this was. It was the twenty fifth century, all kinds of weird virtual technology and spirit arts abounded. How could she know that she wasn't trapped in some weird array and going forward wouldn't lead to her soul dispersing.

Standing around for another ten or so minutes, Chen Ming Yun finally couldn't take the deafening silence around her anymore and with a grumble under her breath raised her feet to move forward. Yes, she was able to move forward. No matter how you thought about it, this seemed like a trap.

The dissonant sound of her shoes against the white stone bridge that echoed and soon disappeared into the mist was able to keep Ming Yun's mind clear as she walked for what felt like hours before she finally spotted the outline of what seemed to be another person through the mist.

Huzzah! A living being!

At this point, Ming Yun could no longer care if this was a trap or not. She just wanted to quickly get out of here so she could return to dying to screw the Chen family over and meet up with her brother sooner on the other side.

However, as her pace increased and she got closer, the figure in the mist became clearer and the clearer it became the more Chen Ming Yun slowed her steps because... because, the reason was... over there... wasn't that her?!

What the hell is going on here?!
