"Welcome to the NWC skill palace of Philade." The old mysterious man said.
"Come on, let's get out of here." That was Caesar transmitting his thoughts to Brian, "I don't feel comfortable around this old man."
"You know, excluding people from conversations is quite rude." The old man had somehow intercepted the thoughts that were passing through the pair's minds.
"Haha, you don't need to look so surprised, it's easy to do once you're high enough level. There is a way to hide it though, if you're wondering."
Brian finally couldn't hold it in and asked, "who the hell are you and what do you want?"
"Patience, young padawan, patience. I mean no ill. In fact, I can be called a beneficiary brought to you through fate and destiny. On that day you had set out, I already had a premonition of this time. And once you met that wolf by your side, it was ascertained. No need to act so surprised, I've already told you, a good eye can see through anything." The old man had quickly comforted the duo when he saw that they got tense when he mentioned the fact that Caesar was really a wolf.
"Just so you know," the old man continued, "I'm on your side. There is something that I want you to see, follow me!"
---
At that instant, the old man touched the jaded fang on Brian's necklace before either of the pair could react, and suddenly, a blinding flash was emitted from that fang and suddenly the three people who were once in an extravagant lounge were now in a peaceful meadow.
This meadow seemed very familiar to Brian's eyes, as if he had been here countless times, but he couldn't pinpoint this feeling clearly.
"Oh, it seems you have started to awaken some memories. Yes, you have been here before. This is not a memory, a hologram, this is a separate world." The old man sighed in relief.
One should know that creating a virtual world is extremely hard. One had to carve out world energy and then constantly supply it with more, unless one could figure out how to automatically make virtual worlds that could create world energy on its own. Not only that, the amount of money put in to design a world was immense.
Worlds appeared how their creators imagined them. Usually, people would be paid to draw out a whole world. Yes, a whole world, every single minute detail would be drawn out, from every blade of grass, to every leaf on a tree. It may seem simple and the only requirement is a lot of time, but not if one remembers how no one in the past has ever found a planet with life on it apart from Earth itself.
This is because stable ecosystems have to be established.
If there weren't any carnivores, the herbivores would rule and kill off all the plants, thereby insuring the death of everything. That was just how life worked. Balance had to be achieved. If one thing outweighed the others, it would create a catastrophe. As a wise man from the Days of Depression once said, if you try and take something out of nature, you will find that you will need to take everything else out with it. This sentence clearly displays the intricacies and connections between all life on a world.
Through all of this, one can see that a lot of resources, great minds a lot of time has to be invested into the creation of the world.
This was the reason the Caesar and Brian were extremely stunned. This old man in front of them could casually take them into a world with a touch, this showed the immense power that this mysterious man possessed. This also allowed the pair to trust this man more, as he could kill them, with this power of his, with a snap of his fingers, but chose not to.
"Haha, I''m not actually that strong, this world already existed prior to my interference. This is the world inside your fang." The old man cleared up the facts and told the truth after a while of enjoying the looks of admiration that Brian was giving, since he wanted to also create his own world.
"What? My necklace? But... But..." Brian was extremely stunned as he did not expect such a secret to be hidden in his necklace that is parents have given him. Also he found one inconsistency in this fact and the way the worlds worked. He could not supply world energy to this fang, so how could it function as a world.
As it turned out, the skill of this old man was similar to an all-seeing eye. He could sense the thoughts of others, and if he reached the familiar stage of understanding, which he did ages ago, he could manipulate the thoughts of tamed animals.
Sensing the thoughts of Brian, this old man mentioned, "Do you know how world energy works? Well, it generated through the balance of nature. Through this balance, an energy is generated through this harmony, and is what we call world energy. Therefore, theoretically, if a world was balanced perfectly enough, then it could sustain itself without the constant injection of world energy. that is what I think is happening in your fang."
This was a big secret. If anyone had found out about this, then there were only two outcomes for Brian and Caesar, joining a powerful clan or business group for protection, such as the NWC, or being killed by said business group or clan.
Sensing Brian and Caesar's thoughts, the old man answered, "That is correct. You are going to need protection, and a lot of it at that. I would advise you to not go to the NWC, as they are not what they seem, which your canine friend here has an inkling of knowledge about." The old man added the second sentence after seeing Caesar eyeing the old man, tensing up again. He truly had a bit of knowledge of the shady dealings of the NWC, and their thirst for power, but only with this old man's confirmation was he certain.
"I know you are smart, so I will tell you this. When there is a pie in the sky, there will always be a string it is dangling from. You will need to find out who is controlling that string and why. That applies to me as well. Fate and destiny brought you to me, but do you know why I did not oppose it? Do you know why fate and destiny is as it is and did not bring you to someone else? So think, what are you going to do now? And another thing to help you make your decision, I'm not with the NWC."
The pair looked at each other and started an intellectual debate. The old man was clearly satisfied with the result as the two people suddenly knelt down and shouted "Master".
