a kiss to forget

"Um..Lyn?"

Devon could feel his heart pumping a million beats per second. He was soo embarrassed to tell Lyn.

"Huh?"

Furthermore, her carefree and innocent look make him feel even worse.

"Uhh... you.. You.. I can see that you are not wearing your bra.."

After gathering all his courage to say this, the usual eloquent Devon hesitated and broke into buckets of sweat although he always gave off an icy cold aura. To hide his nervousness and embarrassment, Devon gulped down a bottle of water.

Expecting a shocked and embarrassed reaction, Devon was completely taken aback when he heard Lyn's reply

"Ah that? Oops I forgot but who cares? The weather was too hot!" Lyn answered casually like it was okay to not wear her bra.

Hearing that, Devon almost choked on the water that he was drinking.

Did..did I hear it right? She said 'who cares'?? She-she doesn't care if I see it? This! Why am I feeling so embarrassed and shameful for her when she don't even care?

Even though Devon shouldn't care, he still felt bothered by what he saw, his face almost turned red from the heat.

But moments later, Lyn seemed to realised what she had just said. She froze with horror, squirming her face till she could not see Devon's face. She squeezed her cheeks together as though she was scolding herself from embarrassment but to Devon, she was very cute at that moment.

Devon thought she would put on her bra and run away from embarrassment but instead, she was pondering about something.

Huh? She isn't gonna to wear her bra or something? Devon wondered, seemingly confused.

Just then Lyn seemed to made up her mind about something. Slowly, she walked over to Devon and pressed her lips against his.

Devon: !!!

Dumbfounded, Devon did not do anything for a second it was only after comprehending what was happening did he regain his consciousness. She.. she kissed me? Although Devon was shocked, he gave in in the end, closed his eyes and kissed her back

How sweet!

After so long, they finally kissed!

But too bad, such sweet moments never last long..

Although she don't know for sure if her curse would definitely work, one thing's for sure - Devon will definitely forget about the embarrassing incidents. Yet, it was still wrong to kiss Devon so suddenly. She is not even sure of her own feelings, much less how Devon think of her.

No, this is wrong!

Knowing that it's wrong, Lyn pulled away although her heart really don't want to.

Holding the tears that were about to stream down her face, Lyn wore her bra and left the house before Devon loses his memory and called the security to chase her out.

She knew things between them would be different after the kiss.

She'd probably lose her only close guy friend..

It was only when Lyn got back home did she remembered of her curse. Nonetheless, if time was to rewind, she will still do the same actions, no regrets.

Maybe she deserved to bear the feeling of remembering everything whilst being forgotten by Devon.

Maybe she should have insisted on changing seats. That way, she wouldn't even feel happy and became greedy to have him for herself and not change seats.

Maybe..she is really destined to be alone, forever...

No matter how Lyn tried to not think about the memories they shared, Lyn's vision still became blurry with tears that are streaming off her face one by one. She already knew she would be sad, but never did she expect herself to be THAT sad.

Upon reaching home, Lyn locked herself in her room, not even leaving for dinner. How could she eat when she don't even have an appetite? She cried for hours and hours, not even stopping once. Even when its bedtime, she couldn't sleep. Her mind was full of the times they spent together, how close they became in such a short time, yet he'd not remember a single thing. Such a happy memory , GONE!

Just like that.

Although she was also sad when her curse happened to her previous guy friends, she was not as sad as today, she could even stomach some food then.

Yet, why does her heart ache so much this time?

Was it because she chose to take the initiative and kiss him so she could blame no one for it and thus she was helpless and more sad?

Although this reason did not feel right, it was the only logical reason Lyn could think of that explains why she felt incredibly devastated, as though she went through a break up like what the TV always shows.

Since Lyn cried all night, she couldn't sleep a wink at all and her eyes were puffy red from all the crying. Still, she had to force herself to smile, to forget that Devon and her were once THAT close, to pretend that everything was alright, when in her heart, everything was falling apart.

Being two-faced was something Lyn despised, yet today, she had to do it. Moreover, to act like she was happy and all when her real feelings were contrastingly opposite was the hardest pretence. As such, she wasn't good at acting. Even she herself was disgusted by her two-faced act, how could she convince other people..especially Devon?

However now, Lyn was bent on changing seats. Even if she don't want to, she had to, at least until she finds a way to stop this curse. Only when she's sure that history won't repeat itself and that he won't suddenly remember or forget her will Lyn pursue after Devon. But who knows if she will ever be cured of her curse? Rather than hurting herself and leaving Devon confused, she'd rather end their contacts once and for all and forget about it as time goes by.

Anyway, she was contented. Considering that so much happened within a few weeks, they grown closer and even kissed! Though Devon's memories of her will probably be forgotten due to her impulsive actions, Lyn would never get the courage to kiss him if such circumstances did not occur. Since the kiss comes with a price, she is willing pay for it.
