Liu Meili

When we arrived at the Liu manor, I had finished digesting all of the memories the previous Lin Ye had left me. It was quite a refreshing feeling, to live a life of cultivation with all the best pills and treasures available. There was only one thorn in the side.

My younger brother. To call him talented, would simply be an understatement!

In this world of martial cultivation practitioners aren't divided into complicatedly named ranks. They are simply called 1st step practitioner, 2nd step practitioner and so forth with the higher step being more powerful.

At the tender age of 9, when most children had barely started their cultivation, my younger brother Lin Shanyuan was already a 5th step practitioner!

One was considered talented to reach the 5th step before 20, and he was only 9! The current me had only entered the 6th step a few months ago, and I was 19! He was only 17 at this time but already a 7th step practitioner!

God damn it! Why wasn't I reborn as him?!?! I could get so much more karma by simply walking around acting humble!

Well it was still fine, atleast I had a fiancé that was a useless cripple who had been oppressed her entire life and up till this point, her sisters were clearly favored by the old Lin Ye and he would totally have married one of them since they were more talented. Oh wait… shit!

A useless cripple, who had probably been oppressed her entire life for having second rate looks, a dead mother, inability to cultivate and was surprisingly not dead yet… THE MAIN CHARACTER FOR A FEMALE XIANXIA NOVEL!

I suddenly remembered the name of the body I was supposed to get… Liu Meili! And it was the same name as my fiancé! Wait… if I was supposed to get her body but didn't, and no one has come to me saying she died… then who the hell is in her body?!?! WHOEVER STOLE MY OPPORTUNITY TO BE THE MAIN CHARACTER COME OUT NOW!!!!

However, my anger quickly subsided as I realized that I could still earn karma points by turning a hopeless girls life into one of extreme luxury. The only thing I needed to do now was to get to her before my dear brother.

Chances like these didn't jump out at anyone, I was really fortunate to have found such a treasure. Besides, I wanted to know what this person who was supposed to be was like. Since I was supposed to be reborn as Liu Meili, but someone else got the spot, or maybe Yama was actually giving me a hint of where I could get myself more karma for the next life!

Our arrival at the Liu manor was openly welcomed. General Liu's eldest son was my age and when our carriage arrived in front of his home he gave us a waist deep bow before inviting us into the main hall.

"It is my pleasure to welcome your majesty, Crown prince and the young princess to our general's manor," Liu Zhen, general Liu's eldest son greeted.

"Enough chit-chat. I hate these formalities, just take me to see that person who was betrothed to me yesterday. If he is not up to par this princess will have to train him," my sister called out with a snort. Oh, I should probably tell you my sister's name. She is called Lin Changying. This little brat's real attitude is a far cry from her name though. If I were to describe her in one word, it would be DESTRUCTIVE!

"Liu Zhen, I think it best you escort my sister around. I no longer have the face to see your second brother," I sighed.

However Liu Zhen's eyes widened till the point only the white was visible. Did… Did the prince really just… speak like a human being!!!!

Indeed. The sad truth was that the previous Lin Ye spoke like a tree. All upright and formal with a lofty attitude that couldn't be disturbed by a volcanic eruption. I was hell bound to change this perception of him.

"Oh, by the way where would my fiancé be?" I asked casually.

"Reporting to your highness. It is not that this one didn't ask younger sister Meili to come and greet you, it is only that she feels her presence would be a disgrace and didn't want to…"

Hearing his prepared excuses I wanted stuff his mouth with cotton. So I raised my hand to silence him.

"I do not care why she didn't come to greet me. I just want to know where she is".

This statement of mine shocked him again. Apparently this was the first time he had heard me referring to myself as "I" and not "This prince". Well, he should get used to it pretty quickly. Oh, and he was probably also shocked about how I actually cared about my fiancé, but when I thought about how the plotline of a typical novel would have the main character meet the main hero soon after entering her new body meant that my brother was here in the manor and soon to meet and steal my fiancé away from me.

"Reporting to your highness, my younger sister is in her courtyard."

"That would be the one in the west correct." I stated while pointing to the most shoddy part of the mansion.

"Yes… how did your highness know?" Liu Zhen was confused.

"Obviously, my fiancé needs to harden her very soul. So it is only natural for her to live in the most unkept and shoddiest part of the mansion. Otherwise, she would never suffer bullying in her life would she?" I nonchalantly explained. Wow, I really like this word. From now on, imagine everything I say to be nonchalant and cool! "_^

But not like, pretentious or something. Just nonchalant like, a kind of super humble indifference. Actually, just cancel that because it made no sense to my editor.

Liu Zhen on the other hand was not feeling nearly as happy as I am now that I have a word to describe my expressions.

To him, it was like being stabbed repeatedly. I had just indirectly called him out for disrespect, for "bullying" my fiancé, and making her live in the poorest conditions.

"Well, you take my sister around. I would like to have a one on one chat with my future wife," I had already begun walking in that direction before Liu Zhen could mutter up a response. He was probably thinking something was wrong in my head.

Well which stupid idiot wouldn't marry someone like this. I thought I would have to go into the countryside to find someone living in hell and being tortured by the local government in one of their cellars to get a substantial amount of karma points.

However Yama was truly playing favorites for me as he made the situation so easy. My fiancé was actually born into nobility but suffered a life worse than commoners. She was even the main character of a novel! I almost drooled thinking about how much karma I could earn by marrying such a woman! My excitement was absolutely uncontainable!
