A friend and a smile - A hesitation

"Where am I?"

Cassey looked around in confusion. He was in a totally unknown area.

"Why didn't the GPS work properly?"

After a fine five minutes, Cassey realized his mistake.

He had muted his phone and absent-mindedly looked at the map and walked according to the one-time memory of viewing the map, which didn't go too well.

Cassey frowned and found himself near a railway station. He decided to call Christopher, but he felt thirsty after walking for a long distance and the exhaustion of travel began to hit him.

He looked around for a while.

He bought a water bottle in a convenience store near the station and sat on one of the benches outside.

His appearance attracted countless stares, like a flower attracting bees.

His eyelids slightly low, his shoulders slouching, it gave out an impression of laziness. He looked like he was posing for a shoot.

"He's handsome..."

The thought filled the minds of several people.

Ah, I should contact Chris...

Cassey opened his chatting software in his phone and sent a message to Chris:

"Send me your location"

"Did you get lost?' A reply came almost instantly.

"I was mesmerized by the city!"

"Send me your location, let's see how far are you from here!"

Cassey reluctantly sent his location.

"Woah, that is quite far! But we are brothers in thought too! I don't know where I am right now too!"

"....."

Cassey sighed and also sent the location of the hotel his friend. If there was one thing that Christopher was better than in Cassey, it would be using the GPS.

"Just go there, okay?"

"Okay!"

Cassey just sat there for an unknown amount of time. His head was full of thoughts.

"What if I don't get selected? What if Chirs doesn't? How will I explain to mom? Well, it is fine..."

Cassey had learned dancing from Chris when they were really young. Both of them joined a dancing academy and went to vocal training centers

Cassey really cared for Chris, so he accompanied him where ever he went. Cassey did not have a life of his own for several years, but whatever the older boy did, he followed and had fun.

But in all reality, Cassey just wanted to escape the education system which was too demanding.

He found learning strenuous and if he gets selected as a trainee, he can shift to a correspondence school where he doesn't need to invest a lot.

He never had a definite passion, but he surely enjoyed an audience, a noise, an applaud made for him.

No one told him what to do, he did not know what to do. To choose almost anything made his heart feel discomfort. No triggers or no callings.

He just sighed.

His eyes grew misty, covered with confusion and he drank his water he slowly as he went into a trance.

A deep voice with a domineering and brisk tone resounded.

"Young man, what is your name? I'm from CGO Entertainment company." A tall and stout man asked as he stood in front of the ethereal boy. He was a talent scout - But most of them rarely approached people.

A few seconds went on...

Cassey didn't respond. The simple act of not saying anything brought out an aura of arrogance and nobility.

The people who witnessed the scene felt that the young man didn't think it was worthy to talk to someone who clearly was mesmerized by his looks and wanted to scout him. After all, the area was quite close to the district of entertainment haven and there were a bunch of talent scouts.

"Wow so cool! He must have been recruited a bunch of times to be this indifferent!"

The observers gawked at him with glittering eyes.

But in truth, Cassey was in a deep trance, the fatigue from traveling and the overwhelming wave of thought had him in a stupor.

"Eh?" Cassey let out a low voice, as he stared at the scout.

The man was extending a card in his hands, his expression proud but a little indignant because of the boy not responding to him.

The card had a regal design to it, but the creative design was not what took Cassey by shock. His eyes widened, and he gulped.

He looked at the card to make sure of it once again and in a clandestine manner, he muttered slowly.

"CGO... Entertainment?"

The ruler of the Monopolies, the company with the most number of successful groups - CGO Entertainment. Established 30 years ago, it had experienced every single wave and turbulence of the evolving entertainment industry but stood at the top for years.
