Returning to the Modern World.

It was an unbelievably fast three and a half years for Liu Wang Shu.

It felt like only just a few minutes ago he thought the wolves were going to eat him. Luckily, though, they only wanted to lick him. He gladly accepted their friendship and had earned many things from seventh sanctuary.

Now, however, he once again sees the blue sky.

It is a gorgeous blue, and he is one again back in the school. In fact, the lab still looks the same, and he sees the box to the seventh sanctuary on the table.

However, what is odd is that there are no lights on. He kind of remembered that this was a twenty-four-hour facility. They were supposed to be working on equipment to stop the Nefari, and it was also the most prestigious gene academy in the world. What exactly could be the reason the lights are all off?

Lui Wang Shu walks out into the hallway after pulling off some of the restricted doors. However, when he first exits he notices a bunch of dead bodies in the school. A few of them are even skeletons, and it looks like they've been devoured by something bizarre. Truthfully, he can hardly believe it and keeps walking down the hallway.

There are only a few reasons this could be happening. In the last three years, perhaps there was an epidemic? Some sort of air born disease could have taken over the planet and killed all these poor people. It also could have been the Nefari. However, they weren't supposed to be here for fifty-seven years. What exactly was it?

The sun outside was still as bright. In fact, in a way the world seemed brighter.

The buildings he remembered in the cities were all still there. However, there was a few new extremely tall buildings that were up in flames. In the last three years they must have really increased development. But it seemed, at this point, unless something akin to zombies were here the world could only be like this because of the Nefari.

On the street, Wang Shu found a dead body with some weird kind of gadget in his hands. For the last few years, he had seen many dead divine bodies, and he wasn't scared of a man in the militaries dead body, however he smelled extremely bad. His bones were starting to appear where his flesh once was. However, he was interested in the phone in the man's hand. He plucked it from the possessive skeleton, and the man's arm fell off as he looked at the phone.

May 27th , Year 2715

12:05 pm.

Wang Shu threw away the phone and laughed.

It couldn't be the year 2715. He left in the year 2645. How exactly could three years equal seventy years. It didn't make any sense. However, everyone was dead around him! Even the girls whom he once thought pretty were probably either dead or elderly.

That was of course unless they became gene saints. However, they weren't talented in anything but looking pretty! He was extremely worried for his future at this point.

Finally, he walked over towards the news stand where an old television was still flashing some news on the screen.

"The Nefari have invaded! They are here now, and we're at the scene!"

Five gene warriors were on the scene along with the extremely petrified but pretty news reporter. She was clearly terrified out of her wits! However, what was most interesting about the video was that there was hundred more saints then he remembered battling up in the sky.

Only gene saints could fly. However, as he was watching it he noticed that they were dying anyway.

They must have hide their numbers from the general population to surprise the Nefari. However, the green looking men were slaughtering the saints anyway. It was almost like they were using spells.

"Boom!"

A black light spread out from the sky as the news reporter took off into the air. Her pretty dress flailed in the wind as the camera man screamed as they both died.

"This is the last report that I will ever give..." Apparently, she was pretty sure she was going to die once she landed.

Luckily, the camera crashed before she did. So, you only saw her nearly hit the ground.

….

"Help me! Help!"

Liu Wang Shu flew through the streets as he heard a voice from about a mile away.

He landed by the location of the noise.

Two women were screaming to try and escape from the building on top of them.

One of his genetic abilities from the eggs was an ability to transform himself into a giant beast. He seemed to transform into a huge warrior as his hand plucked away the small house on top of the ladies.

The city was mostly like this.

Buildings seemed to have fallen everywhere, and he could tell by the house he picked up that its foundations were shot. Two ladies were lying in the basement with some wood on their hands. Liu Wang Shu waved his hand before all the rubble blew away.

"Thank you for saving us," A teenage girl said as she crawled out of the rubble.

She immediately noticed her savior was around her age, and couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"Sir, are you a Genetic Warrior? How is it that you're still alive?"

The humans had gone into hiding for the last 400 years, and only one stronghold truly remained. However, here was a guy wearing pristine clothes like the end of the world had somehow avoided him.

"Uhm, I was in a training facility for longer than I thought. I'm glad to see I made it in time."

The girl, Hui Yin, smiled at him. "We're truly thankful. We were running out of food. You truthfully are our benefactor. However, we really shouldn't stay outside for too long. The Nefari might find us."

The wizards, the Nefari, were from a different planet trillions of miles away.

The girl sat down on the table and explained how they got here so quick. The humans had been battling them for the last thirty years. Apparently, they were able to use some sort of portal to reach them.

"So, you're telling me 90% of the world is dead?"

The two girls whom he was with nodded their heads. Luckily, the house next door was just as deserted as the one they were just in. So, it was not a problem that they moved in. They were perhaps one of the last million people alive.

"Yes, most of the billions of men and women were captured by the Nefari for their experiments. Apparently, we make good sacrifices for their lord to grow in power. Apparently, he one time appeared before a gene saint, and killed him in a second."

Liu Wang Shu took note of that.

"I'll probably have to go join the fight in a little bit. However, I'll make sure to look out for that guy."

Hui Yin bit her lip, and seemed to become brave suddenly. "Listen, you must stay with me! I need to find a husband, and you're the strongest man I'll ever meet in my life. Can you please stay and not go out in fight."

She grabbed his hand as her young mother put down some food.

"I'm sorry, but she's right. We could both be your women if you want."

Liu Wang Shu couldn't believe what he was hearing.

What exactly happened with this world?!
