My calm had returned as my killing intent settled with the death of Dazkieht. He had forced me to my limit and left me much more complete as a warrior.

'I would have to thank him for that, but my way of saying thanks isn't much appreciated.'

I looked at my status which now had Lightning Step, I clicked the technique and got a description.

The Lightning Sword Code did not truly command lightning, instead, it was mimicking lightning using the body. The speed, precision, and accuracy of a Kirin is the essence of the technique. As such taking flight in an instant and defying the heavens was the nature of the Lightning Code.

Lightning Step- As you master the mysteries of forces, you can use your will to overwrite standard physics. When you experience a force in any direction depending on the mastery of the Lightning Sword Code. You can convert the force into a force in any specified direction. You can now command 15% of all forces you experience, you must channel your Lightning intent to do so. It will cause a mental strain and some physical strain to complete.

'That is no lie it seems.' I said as I massaged my stressed temples, my eyes and head were pounding in pain. The adrenaline wore off so I could feel the pain of my mangled arm.

I hadn't noticed earlier but my shoulder was also dislocated, with my knowledge of anatomy and iron will. I forced it back into place while gritting my teeth.

I spit out all the accumulated blood in my mouth and stretched out for a bit, before collapsing on the ground and relaxing.

'Drrak you kept track of the situation correct?' I asked as I closed my eyes enjoying the calm

'Yes.' Drrak had constantly warned me to keep my cool, but as he got used to me he realized my calm is never compromised. It only evolves under stress into a more powerful version.

'Give me a report.' I said as I looked at the blue sky

'The hobgoblins were killed by the goblins, Pektog sufficiently dealt with the threat, and Carol was teleported out. It went all according to your calculations with only 3 deviations.' Drrak reported

'List the deviations.' I said unfazed

'The first was timing, you overestimated Raynard and Carol. The second was Raynard dying, which happened because you overestimated. The last is Pektog experiencing the death Qi of the ghoul sword.' Drrak continued

'Wait what death Qi?' I said in shock

'Yes the death Qi of a ghoul, it is a blessed demon of Lodite's.' Drrak said displeased at my interruption.

'The Lord of the underworld?' I couldn't help but smile wryly, I have some shit luck.

'Death Qi is an aspect of Lodite's, he controls fire and death. Fire is granted to mortals, and death to his dealers. They spread his power of death through demonic deals.' Drrak explained

'What does that mean for Pektog.' I asked

'It means that the ghoul chose to infect him with the Qi, but for his level it is dormant, but for you, it means a key.' Drrak said playfully

'A key to demons sounds rather useful. How would I extract it from him.' I asked expectantly

'Just use your saber Qi to cut it off and let it infect you. I'll guard you against invasion, and later you can seal it. Sadly for Raynard, that means his weapon will lose all spirituality.' Drrak said jokingly

'I have no problem with that, especially since I never showed my face. They won't even suspect me, from what Dazkieht told me. I am for all intensive purposes a human, they won't suspect me.' I chuckled thinking about how successful my plan was.

'My one problem would be if it could be recognized. Wouldn't people call me a demon and try to kill me?' I said inquisitively

'Indeed that happens if they see the death Qi, but that's where I come in I can contain it inside your shadow. Unless they are a death Qi user, and they have seen death Qi before. They would be able to see the death Qi on you but what are the odds of that.' Drrak said

'They can see me, but can I see them?' I asked

'You don't even need to, I can see it for you.' Drrak said with a chuckle

'Alright what about the teleportation, what did you figure out?' I asked Drrak

'Like you said the commoners fled but they didn't know about the escape method. The nobles guarded the superior nobles until the end.' Drrak said reaffirming my ideas.

'But their knowledge of the escape method is questionable. It could very well be they knew there was no escape, and would rather brown nose the superior nobles with their deaths flee. Even if they did know they would most likely not have access to the escape method.' Drrak analyzed

'The intent of the regular nobles isn't very important, I'll just let spread a rumor that Carol and Raynard escaped with a secret method. The best scenario would be that nobody knows that an escape method exists except the superior nobles.' I thought to myself

'What did you figure out about the escape method?' I asked

'It's like a homing beacon, then someone manually removes them.'

'So is someone monitoring the formation in secret?' I asked nervously, if there is I am in danger.

'No it seems that isn't allowed, no one can interfere with the gods. They don't monitor the formation but, most likely they monitor the medallions you receive.' Drrak retorted

'Did you figure out the way out?' I asked

'After observing it, I have an idea it would most likely work.' Drrak confidently said

'Alright, that will be all.' I said calmly

'Don't you want to figure out, ways to improve on your plan?' Drrak asked with a hopeful tone.

'No point the loss in goblins doesn't matter to me, nor do the deviations when all of them are useful. Especially Raynard dying but not Carol that will work great. What could be better than a method of causing more splintering to this group?' I thought as I laughed a little manically

There is a certain pleasure when it comes to causing chaos and manipulating people. It's a privilege of the strong, and capable so I felt no remorse for doing so. If they hadn't all gotten in my way, I would have let them live in peace for a little while.

My body had recovered fairly fast as the pain started to numb, I had experienced much more pain from the Sun Saffron. The fighting had just reduced my endurance and pain tolerance. With my recovered endurance, the pain had disappeared after a while. I decided to seek out Pektog, I jumped on the trees and went to the gathered goblins

The goblins were fairly injured most with shattered armor and weapons. A few corpses that were recovering, and at least 4-5 that had missing limbs. Pektog had bandaged up his wounds using the wrapping from his light armor. Although he still had a powerful presence and vitality. He had a small layer of death Qi on him that was hard to notice.

He was seated in the center of the goblins, quietly contemplating until I entered. I was covered in green blood and red blood but had an injured arm. But I still manifested my arrogance and commanding presence as I approached Pektog.

"Dazkieht is dead," I said stone-faced

"You wouldn't be alive if Dazkieht wasn't dead. I thank you for all your help.' Pektog said solemnly as he cupped his fist to me

"You helped me, so we are even but in the future, the benefits will increase. So I hope to continue this partnership." I said as I put my hand out for a handshake.

Pektog looked at my hand for a moment hesitating as he decided decisively to shake my hand.

'Hesitation huh, am I that devilish, hehe?' I thought as I held back my urge to laugh at Pektog's insecurity

I looked at Pektog carefully and used my magic eyes. My elemental brandings burned onto my skin, as my eyes gained a runic pattern and a violet in exchange for the previous blue.

'Here kid I'll change your vision a bit.' As Drrak spoke the spell circle on my head gained a hint of black. As my irises also darkened and the world changed.

The small blue flow on Pektog changed and was now entwined with a blackish red energy, it was even larger than before. The black was predominant with a hint of blue around it.

I looked at myself and saw a huge vortex of blue energy, entwined with a white, pure black, and combined with all of them was a purple energy. The purple energy was like a corruption but each strand was endowed with the power to crush mountains and overturn seas. Though it was interesting I had more important matters to deal with so I focused on Pektog.

'Was it always like this Drrak?'

'Your magic eyes don't allow you to see the power of the gods. He had a small amount of death Qi, but it was so miniscule I didn't bother to tell you. It could be he always had it or he received it from this formation since all the gods cooperated in creating these. I am unsure as to what created the death Qi on him.' Drrak said

"Pektog were you at all infected by that undead ghoul weapon?" I said feigning concern

"Yes, how did you know?" Pektog said surprised

"It left a death Qi on you, it is currently consuming your vitality." I made that up to trick Pektog, it wasn't doing anything right now

Pektog thought for a moment he didn't fully trust me, but he didn't trust the death Qi of a ghoul more so he spoke.

"How do I remove the Qi?" He said hesitatingly

"Simple I'll just remove it if you'd like that." I offered with no expression on my face.

"Yes I trust you, you can remove it." He said

I unsheathed the void sword and channeled the sword intent into it. It generated Saber Qis as they dispersed from the sword. I directed them to cut the black flow.

Drrak in my shadow manifested using the shadow and jumped at the black flow. He consumed the black energy and my shadow returned to its normal size.

Pektog looked on in shock as Drrak appeared and quickly disappeared. Then he left a lightness like a burden was removed from him.

"Thank you honored one." He said

"No problem, I will now be leaving. I won't be returning for a while but do prepare for my return." I jumped at into the treetops and ran forward with augmented motion.

Then when I was out of sight, Drrak manifested from my shadow again. Becoming a 3-meter dragon that consumed my form and then Drrak and I disappeared.
