Training Begins

From that day forward, Lance's training began.

He was first given a day to adjust and get used to the chamber. His laziness came back though, as he spent the whole day on the bed watching TV. It was a wall length TV with the highest clarity he had ever seen. There was a strange software which, after pressing a button, immediately understood which TV show he wanted to watch. This only worked when he was actively thinking about the show though. Its catalogue seemed to span from around the 1900s up until present day. As a child, he had always loved Charlie Chaplin so the whole day was gone binge watching it while taking an occasional break for dinner.

The dining room was simply a table with a button on it. All he needed to do was press the button and think of the food he wanted and it appeared. Lance played around with this quite a lot, materializing everything from his favorite lamb chops to cotton candy.

There were opaque windows both in the living area and the dojo. The light that shined through dictated whether it was morning or night. Besides, since breaking through, he had had a higher understanding of his body. Thus, he could more or less estimate the time from his body clock.

The night was spent cultivating. His personal stuff had already been teleported in his room and included was the cultivation manual. According to the manual, at every level the goal of absorbing energy is to make the energy construct stronger.

Since breaking through, his energy construct was barely holding together, with faint mists swirling inside the transparent foundation. Now, the goal was to make the foundation completely solid.

The barrier of breaking through to stage-2 initiate was to cross the mid and advanced stage-1 initiate state by making the 2-D construct in his dantian completely solid.

Thus, the goal now was the constantly feed the construct with energy and eliminate the mists.

Lance noticed something peculiar while cultivating. The wishroot which had seldom interacted before now took a fraction of the energy that was entering his dantian. It seemed to be a bottomless hole which could absorb all of the energy present. The only consolation was that that fraction seemed to be a constant. He decided to ask the Castellan about it the next day.

In terms of the concentration of energy, his living area seemed to almost double the energy that had been there in his dorm. Lance reveled in the feeling of being in such an area of high energy. It was similar to a city residents first breath in a lush and verdant countryside.

The night went on peacefully.

Lance was awoken from his cultivation by a loud and piercing cock-a-doodle.

Massaging his ears, he woke up and freshened himself.

Feeling the training uniform tightening around him again, he felt a rush of excitement in his veins. It was the first day of training.

""Power" IN, here I come!", he thought, as he opened the door to see the waiting Castellan.
