Chapter 146: Know you better 1

Meanwhile, at Jun Liu and NaNa's side:-

NaNa entered the black Lexus, but her eyes were still on Yi Fei and Bai Jing Ting.

"Ah Jun, wait for a moment okay? Just a little while, after Yi Fei and Brother Ting are done, then we can go. I need to spy…" NaNa looked at Jun Liu. "Not spying, I mean I need to see if Yi Fei needs help…" NaNa laughed awkwardly.

Of course, she couldn't tell Jun Liu about her plan. In case, he got turned off by her nosy action, and NaNa couldn't risk destroying her reputation in front of Jun Liu. NaNa needed to act like a little angel; pure and kind when she was with Jun Liu.

But then again, Jun Liu knew about the gossiper NaNa long ago even before he fell in love with her. He had no problem with NaNa being a cute little gossiper, but at the moment, he was hungry. And when he was hungry, he got slightly colder than he used to be.

"She'll be fine. Let's go" Jun Liu refused to tolerate NaNa's pleading look.

So, NaNa had to say goodbye to her scandalous news with a heavy look because her boyfriend couldn't understand her feeling of gossip.

The black Lexus moved straightaway to the direction of NaNa's house so NaNa couldn't help but ask. "Ah Jun, there's nothing in my house. Yi Fei and I haven't go to the supermarket yet."

The fridge in her house was empty. It has been empty for quite some time now. Since her brother and Yi Fei got together, her brother had been stealing her housemate almost every dinner. NaNa had to be content with takeout food every night.

"You have microwave oven right?" Jun Liu did not even look at NaNa when he asked her. NaNa told him that they have a microwave oven, but when NaNa asked him about it, Jun Liu didn't answer her.

Even though NaNa was used to the cold Jun Liu, she hoped that Jun Liu could at least answer her one or two of her questions sometimes. After all, she is his girlfriend.

"Why should we eat dinner at my house? Can't we just eat dinner in a restaurant or something?" NaNa was a bit sulky because Jun Liu didn't tell her anything about his plan for dinner except for that they are going to have dinner in her house.

Jun Liu did not speak, so NaNa thought that Jun Liu is going to ignore her like he always did. So, she pulled off the 'I-am-looking-outside-the-window-because-I-am-sulking' move. NaNa turned her head to look outside the window. She's protesting silently because Jun Liu ignored her.

Jun Liu took a glance at NaNa who was looking outside the window. How could he not understand what NaNa was trying to do? Ying Yue always behaves like that when she was sulking or when she was upset.

To be honest, Jun Liu didn't know whether he should tell NaNa the real reason why he wanted to have dinner with her at her home. It's just that; he doesn't want to appear as the domineering or overly attached boyfriend.

Back in City K, Ying Yue always tell him about the recent movies or anime that she watched, and every time she did that, Ying Yue will rant on how much she hated such possessive characters. According to Ying Yue, those kinds of characters will make her life miserable.

Based on that, Jun Liu concluded that NaNa might hate that kind of characters too. It's not as if Jun Liu was possessive for nothing. NaNa is his girlfriend so, of course, he would be a bit possessive about her. Especially when a random ex-boyfriend came knocking in her life for god knows what reason.

Seeing that NaNa has no interest in continuing the conversation, Jun Liu felt as if something was missing. Usually, he won't feel lonely because NaNa will talk the whole ride. Now that NaNa was sulking and she was quiet, Jun Liu felt lonely.

"I'm worried about you being alone in the house" Of course Jun Liu was not worried about that. He was worried that the ex-boyfriend next door might try something since NaNa is alone.

NaNa didn't respond, as if she didn't hear anything about it. She continued looking outside the window. Then, she felt that someone tapped on her shoulder followed by a deep sigh.

"I don't want to be like those overly attached boyfriends or what. But I don't think it would be safe for you to stay alone in the house when someone who acts like a stalker moved next door."

NaNa finally turned her head to face Jun Liu. Her heart warmed when Jun Liu was honest. She smiled and started talking about random things. Jun Liu was glad that NaNa turned back to normal. So, it is true then – that honesty is the best policy.

When they reached NaNa's apartment complex, NaNa dashed out of the car because she said 'I need to check something.' In reality, NaNa remembered about their messy living room and their dirty kitchen. NaNa could not let Jun Liu sees how messy the house is, so she needs to hide everything, so everything is spotless.

Jun Liu let out a laugh when NaNa dashed from the car. He had an idea of what NaNa was trying to check, but he needed to pretend as if he doesn't know anything. At least, he should give some face to NaNa. Jun Liu took his time to park the car and to get the food from the back seat. He should provide NaNa a few minutes to 'check' whatever she needed to check.

When NaNa arrived at the doorstep of her house, she was trying to find her keys. Since she was in a hurry, she couldn't find her keys and then she got panic. NaNa knew that she did not forget her keys this time. Yi Fei put the keys personally inside her handbag this afternoon.

As if knowing that NaNa was home, the door next door opened to reveal a sharp looking Zi Yi who looked dashing enough to make everyone falls in love at first sight with him. Thank God that the spell doesn't work on NaNa anymore. She only looked at him once and continued rummaging her handbag.

A laugh could be heard from the next door and footsteps approached NaNa. NaNa stiffened when the familiar cologne of attacked her sense of smell. The man smelled like a sweet woody fragrance with notes of petit grain, cardamom, lemon, orange, and fir. NaNa doesn't even have to look up to know who that person is.

She used to love the smell of the cologne, but since she got dumped by Zi Yi, she hated that smell more than anything. NaNa looked up to see a smiling Zi Yi. Isn't this too much of a coincidence? And why the hell would the timing be so accurate? Also, can't Zi Yi just get the hint that she doesn't want to talk to him?

For god sake, NaNa looked down and ignored Zi Yi because she didn't want to talk or to have any interaction with the guy, but the guy just didn't take the hint now, did he?

"You must forget your keys? You are still careless" Zi Yi spoke with a happy tone. NaNa was annoyed. Why the hell would Zi Yi felt so pleased when she misplaced her keys?

"It must be at the bottom of your handbag" Out of the blue, Zi Yi offered his opinion without being asked. NaNa looked annoyed. As if sensing that NaNa was not happy with his suggestion, Zi Yi spoke again. "After all these time, I am still the one who understands you the most. Go on; check at the bottom of your handbag. It must be there."

NaNa doesn't feel like checking. She was afraid that she'd find her keys at the bottom of her handbag like Zi Yi told her. She doesn't want to give the satisfaction to Zi Yi if he was right.

"I thought you have something to check inside your house. Why are you doing outside?"

Jun Liu appeared from behind them with a takeout bag on each of his hands. Zi Yi was slightly surprised to see Jun Liu appeared in the apartment complex.

"I couldn't find the keys. I know I have it with me. Yi Fei put the keys inside my bag personally." NaNa moved closer to Jun Liu and acted like a little kid who was asking for him to coax her because she couldn't find her things.

Before Jun Liu could say anything, Zi Yi spoke again. "Why don't you check at the bottom of your handbag? You always put your key there" Zi Yi was talking as if he wanted to show off that he knew NaNa the best.

"Why don't you check one of the little pockets inside your handbag? It should be there" Jun Liu suggested NaNa. Jun Liu didn't know NaNa's habit of putting the keys inside her bag, but he saw how Yi Fei would put her keys inside the little pockets in her handbag during one of their dinners together.

NaNa checked the pockets according to what Jun Liu told her. Then she had an excited expression on her face. Indeed, like what Jun Liu told her, the keys are there. NaNa did not bother to check the little pockets because it was not her habit to put keys inside the pocket. No wonder she couldn't find it.

Zi Yi had a bitter expression on his face. He was sure that he is the only one who knows NaNa the best.

NaNa entered the house to 'check' what she needed to check and Jun Liu volunteered to stay outside until she was done. The lovebirds ignored Zi Yi who was standing like a minor side character at the moment.

"You're just lucky this time. I am still the one who knows her better" Zi Yi spoke out of anger, but he kept his voice down and calmed as if he was not angry, but a trace of anger could not be hidden.

"Aren't you too full of yourself? Feeling changed." Jun Liu didn't want to talk with Zi Yi, but since he was spitting fire first, Jun Liu couldn't just stay still and get burn.

From inside, both of the men heard that NaNa said 'all clear. You can come in". Both of them knew who NaNa meant by 'you.' Zi Yi clenched his fist, apparently angry at the invitation directed to another guy and not him.

Jun Liu was about to enter the house, but he stopped. He looked at Zi Yi. "If you look closely, NaNa has a ring on her finger. I gave her that ring."

Jun Liu smirked and closed the door to Zi Yi's face.
