A Reason to Brag

Even the Maka Soma and the younger daughter of the head elder Misa Soma also had their mouths stuffed while their eyes had clear question marks in them.

Before anyone else could ask any more questions, June himself continued

"If you really want it, I could give you these four bowls of spices that I have prepared with those herbs that I had found, and it would be even better if I could just exchange these spices for some couple of clothes and other basic necessities after all I am just a stranger with nothing else at hand that I could urgently trade for"

After completing his sentence, June picked up one of the plates containing the grilled fish and with the help of the knife he started to dissect it into smaller pieces. At the same time giving them enough time to consider his own situation.

When the fish had been cut into smaller pieces, he placed the wooden plate in front of the little Tinum and only after that he picked up another wooden plate with the grilled fish and started to eat his meal.

Then he looked towards the direction of the head elder who nodded back towards June with a smile while saying "That would be a pleasure."

And while looking at the other three people, and their accepting expressions, June knew that he could proceed further.

Since the very early time, the best way to create a comfortable but still trusting relationship with not just humans but any other creature alive is through food.

While eating, any creature would become unconsciously vulnerable. That is the reason why even all of the animals preferred to eat in peace where no one would disturb them.

That is also the reason why a small child or a baby would become peaceful and quiet when given something delicious to eat, like a simple ice cream or even a simple bottle of milk.

As June started to eat his plate of the grilled fish, he raised his head and suddenly said "Also one more thing, as a traveler one thing I have understood is that every place no matter how small would always have a story attached to it."

"And what could be a better time for a story than right now when every one is comfortably eating with warmth in front of this fire"

As the basic mentality goes, any normal person would put up a proud stance of their place of origin in front of an outsider, and let's not even mention the village people, who have lived in the same lands for many of their generations of ancestors.

In the places where there are no pen and paper to write any kind of records, knowledge is transferred in a very interestingly unique manner.

This way of transferring knowledge is one of the oldest methods that human beings have used in order to pass their understandings through many generations of their grand children.

This method was the common and simple 'word of mouth' which very interestingly took the form of the folk stories or folk songs.

Under a normal situation in our daily lives, all of the elderly people that we can see would love to brag about their past exploits and events that had most influence on them, and after some time their bragging would become kind of boring to listen.

But when we think carefully about this whole situation while looking at the basic history of the human behavior and their inherited natural tendencies or habits, then there is actually much more to it than just simple bragging.

Humans have a very unique way of passing on the knowledge to their young ones and that is whenever they are close to any other person, who they think would have less experience than them, automatically they would start to brag about their own past experiences.

This habit is actually out of anyone's control, it's just that some stories are interesting when we are younger while the rest of them sound like a drag when we are older, totally depending upon the oratory skills of the speaker.

This is a natural tendency to share knowledge, and this habit is embedded within the human genes and had now almost become a natural instinct that we normally ignore most of the time in our daily lives.

This simple instinctual habit that most of the people now a days have started to hate, is actually one of the most important reasons that had allowed the humans to be still alive in this cruel nature while still being better than the other animals at survival.
