The Gift of Motivation.

Desmond was unsuitable in the eyes of most of the students in the classroom. He was being granted the rites of passage by one of the most powerful teachers in the entire citadel. Such a thing, even to Jasmine, seemed incomprehensibly impossible to someone so below their ranking. A lot of the students in here were of notable background and had parents that were also in the military.

"So, do you care to tell the class what you are experiencing Desmond?" Professor Angelus said as he began casting a dharmic spell. This was one of the most famous spells for the rites of passage. It was a bond that brought two souls together and created a link between their dantians.

Yet, as the teachers voice entered Desmond's ears, it was lost in a sea of information. Inside his dantian was his soul palace, which was not to far from his spiritual roots. Basically, inside that palace the information from Angelus's long history flooded inside and illuminated him with the mysteries of the world. Desmond couldn't believe what he was learning.

One of the first things his mind was able to grasp from the information was that there was three realms all together. This was the first realm, and it was at war like the two other realms.

He, also felt rare information about cultivation techniques entering into his consciousness. There was also insights into different races, and even the names of high ranking officials in other worlds passing through his awareness. He even found out stuff about his principle, and the other teachers.

Normally, this information was usaully classified for students. However, it was all entering his consciousness along with theories behind alchemy, blacksmithing, and the secrets of this landscape around the Citadel.

"I'm experiencing a second life…" Desmond said loudly, "It's like the entire universe is at my finger ti--"

Professor Angelus laughed before he let go of him, and all that information seemed to be shut off.

"Ha, well that was well put, Desmond. The boy just received my full blessing, and rites class. He is now just as ample a teacher, comparable to me, and I suggest you all respect him. Perhaps even try your best to suck up to him. If I were you, I would do that and more. You might even beg for forgiveness. I've seen Desmond's memories, by the way, and I am ashamed to say you're all going to need to really plead for his help."

Regardless, professor Angelus gently pushed Desmond and pointed him towards a seat in the front of the class.

"By the way class, he will be your new assistant professor. If you have any questions at any time, feel free to go up to him and bother him. He will need you'll to be his army in this school, so girls don't be afraid to go over to the boy's dorm and bother him if you have any late night questions as well." The professor smiled before he pat Desmond on the back.

At this moment, Desmond was currently dizzy, and just nodded his head. It was like he drunk something intoxicating and felt giddy enough to challenge the world! However, as he was walking over towards the chair the teacher suggested he fell.

"Plop!"

He fell right in between a pretty girl's dress, and nearly felt his consciousness slipping. Yet, before he could even get up and apologize the girl was bending down to pick him up.

"Oh, are you alright assistant professor… I'm sorry if my skirt was in your way."

He nodded before another hand landed against his arm. It was Jasmine, of all people, and she immediately glared at the girl grabbing Desmond.

"Well, Mona, why don't you sit down while I take Desmond over towards his chair… We wouldn't want you to have to touch 'the poor boy' now would we?"

The students in the class all gasped. Especially the boys when they realized these two beauties were going head to head.

A few of the students wanted to start placing wagers over who would win in a battle. However, before they could the professor had already taken Desmond to his chair. He sighed as he put Desmond on the chair.

"Students, unfortunately, Desmond is experiencing a minor side effect from the transfer. Mona, I'm sorry that he fell on you, and got a chance to see something he shouldn't have seen. However, now he will have no choice but to give you a free lesson. Isn't that right, Desmond?"

Desmond, unfortunately, was almost knocked out at this moment from all the changes in his body. He didn't even remember what he saw beneath Mona's dress. Yet, interestingly, this would give the girl some leverage for later when she needed help from him. He had hundreds of thousands of years of information present inside of his head.

Regardless, Desmond felt himself falling asleep on the extremely comfortable chair. He never imagined he would fall asleep in class. It was the most important day of his life, and he couldn't stay awake after the rites of passage was granted to him!

Usually, teachers would be extraordinarily peeved if you fell asleep in their class room. However, there was really nothing he could do about it.

His entire body, right now, was going through a tremendous change. Abilities that he only once dreamed of were spreading through his veins. This even included one thing professor Angelus could've never expected. He had a sort of clairvoyance, after all, yet the transfer of such a skill was exceptionally rare. He put his hand against Desmond's back before the boy woke up and looked around.

"Desmond, what do you see," Professor Angelus asked after feeling a jolt from the boy's body.

Desmond, confused, opened his eyes and looked around. The lights that were once shinning seemed dim, and no students were in the room. It took him just a moment to realize that this meant he fell asleep. His worst dream, no his nightmare, had just happened!

'Uhm, just apologize, and it will all be fine,' Desmond thought as a smile spread across his face. It was a smile filled with guilt, and a touch of worry.

"Professor, I didn't mean to fall asleep. It's just the rites of passage were tiring and exhausting." He laughed and stood up preparing to run to the door. However, as he was exciting he noticed some interesting information entering his consciousness.

Professor Angelus Abernathy

Motives

- Wants to ensure his new student is feeling alright

- Is hungry from waiting around for a few hours for his student to wake up.

- Is here because he's curious about Desmond's ability. Did he gain the ability of clairvoyance?

- Is excited to hear the answer.

Desmond scratched his head after the information somehow passed into his inner world. "Uhm, professor, I have a feeling that you wanted to make sure I was alright. Is that correct?"

His professor clapped before a gigantic smile appeared on his face.

"Yes, you've unlocked an angel-saint's clairvoyance! Congratulations, Desmond. And, also, you don't need to worry about falling asleep in class. If you had enough time to read up on the school manual, you would've seen the section on the rites of passage. Basically, you can sleep in class after the rites are given. Hence, you have nothing to worry about."

Desmond nodded as he looked at the teacher. "Thank you for telling me about that professor… I didn't mean to fall asleep regardless and fought it to the best of my ability. However, can you now tell me about this clairvoyance. What exactly does it do?"

His teacher floated up into the air before he seemed to arc and land. He dropped down to the seat next to Desmond and pulled out a book from his bag.

"Here, takes a look at this and see what memories pop up Desmond. You shouldn't even have to read it because I read it already. This will explain the answer you are probably looking for."

Basically, there was as strong teacher student bond between these two, and since Desmond already had seen many of the events his Professor had experienced, there was certain advantages that other students didn't get to experience. For example, when he stared at a book his professor had read before, it would be found in his soul palace and then somehow enter into his awareness. As long as he was able to handle the information, this would allow him to grow tremendously in strength. All he had to do lets say visit a library or a dojo.

"Saints Clairvoyance," Desmond read aloud the title of the book,

As he did, a slew of information seemed to enter into his mind.

[Allows the user to perceive motivations, gifts, and flaws.]

[Usually, granted at birth and requires father to be past the saint rank]

[Considered one of the top ten divinity secret techniques]

….

Desmond smiled as the information floated into his consciousness. "Professor, It seems I already understand this book! Not only that, it' saying that I can even notice gifts and flaws in other people! However, why can I only see motives when I look at your name?"

The professor pat Desmond on the back before he smiled at him. "Desmond, it's because not everyone is able to use Clairvoyance at all times. Perhaps you might only be able to see motives. However, do you realize how powerful this will make you Desmond! I'm so glad the United Human Federation will have another capable leader for the war!"

Desmond confusedly looked at him.

He knew that the war was between the United Human Federation, and the Demons and Devil beasts of this planet.

This world was a minor world that was a part of a much larger structure currently at war. He, a few minutes ago, didn't realize how long this war had lasted. Yet, after the ritual was completed, he realized this war was much bigger then he thought. Yet, unfortunately, he couldn't truly grasp it. It was like he needed some sort of support to activate that information.

"Well, that's great! However, don't I have to be exceptionally strong to do that. It seems almost impossible for me to be ready for the great battle. Isn't that promised day supposed to be in just fifty years. What can I possible do when I'm put in a field of saints, and gods?"

The world had many ranks, and saints and gods were much stronger than all the students in the school. However, he didn't have time to go over the ranking system in his head. The teacher was laughing and it was distracting his thoughts.

"You're misunderstanding what I've given you Desmond. You'll be able to create pills to strengthen your cultivation with the information I gave you. Not only that, you have the best cultivation manuals that most students would kill for in your consciousness. If you think about the greatest warriors, some of them have only been around for two hundred years. And, besides, I said we need a leader. We don't need you fighting and dying."

Desmond nodded his head, and then glanced up at his teacher.

"Well, thank you for choosing me… I will try my best to get stronger by then, and make sure I turn into a good general!"

Desmond felt a pride he had never experienced before as the teacher stood up and prepared to leave the class.

"Well, that's really good boy. Now, please don't mind me and make your way back to your dorm. If I'm not mistaken, your dorm might have been upgraded."

The professor laughed before he through over some keys to Desmond.

"And, also, don't worry about your mom either! I happened to drop by and gift her a few purple shells. She should be good until you graduate!"

The professor nodded his head with a bright smile on his face. Right after that, he waved Desmond good bye. Next, right after that he was gone, Desmond was the only one in the abandoned classroom.

He walked out into the hallway as the lights flickered revealing the amber moon glimmering in the sky. The entire world seemed more precious and beautiful to experience.

It took him just ten minutes to get to his dorm because of his new memories of the school. All it took was one look at the map to find his way. Finally, he turned the key into the gorgeous doorway blocking his entrance to his new life. He opened it and could barely believe this new life was happening.
