With the new items that Marcus had acquired he felt much safer now. However, he didn't want to wait an entire week before he was employed.
There were two places he passed by on his way to the weapon shop from main street. One of them was tavern that he remembered for some odd reason. It felt like his new body had an attachment to that tavern, and it only made sense to walk over the bloody steps.
When he got inside, he saw a woman crying on the floor. He cautiously went up to her and put his hand on her back.
"I'm sorry, but do you know if I can still get a drink," he asked feeling the leather dress she was wearing.
The girl sniffled not bothering to turn around. "Go away! Unless you happen to be my friend, I'm not interested…"
She wiped the snot of her face before Marcus sighed. "Well, then I'll just help myself."
He walked behind the bar where the bartender was laying either unconscious or dead. Needless to say, he wasn't too worried about paying.
He proceeded to the wine rack and picked up something that looked good. It was called the Margaret Olive brew. He sighed after pouring himself a glass. Finally, he found himself a comfy seat on the bar. He didn't pay much attention to the women crying. However, there was something strangely familiar about her voice.
"Hey, what did your friend look like? If you keep crying like that…. I won't be able to listen to you."
The girl kept tearing up before she sniffled and looked over to the man.
"Mister, my foolish guy happened to go out and fight with the resistance. I'm sorry, but I don't want to bother you with my story." She turned around and picked up her dress that was dragging on the floor.
Then she looked over and realized who she was seeing. "Marcus, you Darn Jerk! Why didn't you tell me it was you?"
The girl got up and walked over to him. "Did you hit your head when you were outside and forget that you lived here!"
Marcus laughed. "I don't remember a thing sweetie. What was your name again?"
The girl was aghast, and completely misunderstood him. She leaped over to him like a frog with a dress on. She spread her arms wide as her dark brown hair sprinkled against the light causing a beautiful shadow to spread towards Marcus's body.
Her arms wrapped around him before she smiled with glee.
"I'm your… friend. We've known each other since school remember? Now, let me check your head, and make sure no Fortuna beat me out of you."
This girls name was Eliza, and she had been with the previous Marcus for ten years. They never officially dated, however, they were so close a lot of the dead people on the floor in this room used to gossip about them.
"Hmmm, well, they must have hit me pretty hard, E-E-Eliza, right?"
She smiled before she squeezed into the seat next to him.
"Yup, the girl who's been trying to tell you she's loved you for ten years but didn't have the courage until she thought you'd died!"
She flittered her eyebrows before Marcus started laughing. "You're so funny… Eliza. I feel like I just met you. How about we wait a few more years before we try it out… I feel like I haven't explored enough yet.
Just give me a few months, and a couple more nights on the town. When I come back, I promise I'll make it up to you with a good night."

The girl Eliza, who had just confessed, immediately felt her eyes start to water.
"You… you're kidding right... Marcus! Yesterday, you bought me flowers! What exactly happened to you when you were out on the field," She sighed.
Marcus laughed before he poured back the drink. "I'm actually a different Marcus. I'm guessing your friend died, and I took over his body. Sorry to have to inform you, but at least he had a pretty girl in his life."
He waited for her reaction. She titled her head with shock before she stood up and reexamined his head.
"You're totally not the man I remember! They must have hit you really hard…" Eliza said before she took out a potion in her pocket.
Marcus sighed before he looked up at her… "She is actually really pretty. Would it be so bad if I accepted her feelings?' He started to feel torn as he watched her pull open the cork and prepare to pour it on him.
She, of course, was never going to believe what Marcus said, hence, he stopped trying to explain it to her, and after a few minutes, looked at her with a solemn expression on.
"Eliza, I'm seriously not who you remember, but if you want to come upstairs with me for one night… Perhaps I can fall in love with you."

The girl sighed before she closed the potion cap and proceeded to walk up the stairs. She looked at the dead bartender, and all of the guests who had died. 'Perhaps it wouldn't have been so bad if her Marcus died.' She thought looking down at the blood-stained floors.
"Your treasure chest is in the back. I hope to not see you here in the morning. However, If you wish to apologize, and turn back into who you were yesterday, my room in down the hall."
Marcus waved bye to her watching her ascend the stairs. He really wouldn't have been so mean to her if he wasn't getting notoriety from it. However, this must mean he gets points for doing bad things right?
There was lots of games in his other life that he had played. Thieves were usually expected to stay away from kind actions. However, truthfully, when he looked at that girl he felt a tug on his heart. It was better to cut that string now before he ended up being played by it.
"Hey, system, you wouldn't happen to know where I can get a quest would you?"
