The first thing Marcus noticed was that there was a gigantic lock on it. He sighed before he looked at his knife and returned it into his satchel. However, then he realized he could just take the entire cage. He jumped down nimbly before he lightly touched onto the floor.
A moment later, he walked over towards a table as he looked at the sleeping bird.
There, by chance, happened to still be a light on, but he didn't think much of it.
He left the cage on the table before he checked his inventory for something he could use to open the cage. A moment later, he discovered that one of the swords he took might be an effective bar to pry the cage open. He sort of wished he had a lockpicking skill like a lot of thieves did. However, he just improvised and broke out the feathered bird using a sword.
A few minutes after he arrived, he had the peacock in his hand as he walked out the door right over towards the owner who was standing across the street.

Marcus smiled as he held up the bird. Somehow, it stayed asleep through the entire process.
The lights were still on in the shop, and Sam grinned before he opened the door.
"I think I've finally found someone to help me out some jobs. Would you like to come inside for a drink? That waitress you were talking to earlier is still here…"
"Ah, I thought she needed her rest. Does she sleep here or something?" He walked inside the room and handed the snoring peacock over towards Sam.

"She actually lives upstairs. I hope you don't mind, but she isn't in her uniform…" Sam guided him towards the back room. He pushed open the doors before he saw the waitress in a bathrobe. She was sinking her teeth into an apple with her legs crossed.
"So, you have the peacock I see!" She laughed before she ran over to it.
It was strange, but the thing never did wake up. He handed it to her before she waddled off towards a stairway.
"Heh, she's quite beautiful, isn't she," Zack said handing him the other half of his envelop. "However, I just wanted to let you know she has a lot of friends who are very protective of her." He laughed before he walked over towards the bar. His footsteps sounded heavy and he seemed to have a limp.
Marcus smiled at him. "I just arrived and don't really intend on bothering her. All I want is a few jobs, so I can buy a place for myself."
"Well, you're welcome to stay next to Lucila's room as long as you're working for me. However, I just gave you enough money to stay at the inn down the block for two months."
Marcus laughed before he realized it would be better if he stayed at the inn. He shook off the offer before they began talking for a few minutes.
Zack smiled and looked up at the ceiling trying to hide his joy.
"I'm glad I found someone who finally got me that damn Peacock, and now I hope you can do something a little bit more daring. Would you mind if I spilled the beans to you?"
Marcus nodded his head and laughed. "As long as I'm getting paid, I'll do anything short of murder."
Zack had been having to hold what he was about to say in for a long time. Truthfully, he'd been wanting to see Sam's wife since the night they got married. However, after two years she never left the guy, and he was hoping she'd come if his goons were put to sleep.
"Well, you know that man Sam you just met? He's really possessive of his wife, and I'm hoping you can let her break out… Once she is here, he'll leave her alone, however, he has a couple of body guards..."
Sam and Zack both loved the same girl since they were children. For her, they both opened restaurants because she liked to eat food.
Basically, Sam was richer, and asked for her hand in marriage before Zack. He lost her because Sam bought her a house. However, Zack frankly didn't didn't care that much that she chose him. He would've done the same thing if he was a girl in this day. However, she always sent him letters saying she loved him, and asked her to save her from the 'wretch'. Hence, he was hoping to break her free.
"Ha, I'll do it!"

"Uhm, well, that would be great! She'll finally be free of that man and me and her can finally be together! Ha, he's going to be so sad, he'll probably close up shop…"
Marcus smiled before he started remembering something.
When he was in his last life, didn't something happen to his girlfriend? He couldn't really remember, but he knew that it would come to him eventually.
"Great! Well, why don't you leave out the backdoor just in case. I'll see you with his wife!" The both stopped talking at the door.
…..
Marcus walked into the streets and head over towards the inn.
He almost didn't notice it because it was right across the street. He walked inside past a few flaming lamp poles, and saw a man standing at the desk.
He walked over to him and got a room.
It seemed like a moment passed and it was already the next day.
He turned over towards his side and almost thought he saw someone.
What was her name again?
