After she had witnessed the death of their strongest hunter, Gale, she knew she didn't have a winning chance against Alice. Yet, she had mustered up the courage to stand up against this silver haired warrior thanks to the courageous act of her brother.
"Ever since you saved my life, I vowed to be your protector" ." she thought.
A scene flashes through her mind...
["Papa!... Papa!… Papa!… Where are you Papa?" Christy shouted out while she was searching for her father. She recalled a scene when she was 7 years old and Amon was 15 years old. Her father had gone into the forest to hunt for food. It had been 2 days and Christy was anxiously waiting for her father to return. It was broad daylight and she couldn't wait for another day. "Hold on Christy." she heard Amon yelling at her before she disappeared into the forest.
Inside the forest, Christy searched for an hour and was at the brink of giving up.
She called out for her father one last time and suddenly heard a squeal behind her, "OOOAARRHH." It sounded like a growling stomach.
"Papa?" said Christy as she turned her head and discovered a feral hog. "BOREEEAHH," yelled the wild hog as it begun to charge at Christy. Her body was frozen."PAPA, SAVE ME," she shouted out in fear.
A figure rushed out from the bushes and pushed Christy out of harm's way. The two tumbled to the side, barely dodging the hog's attack. "That was close..." Amon sighed in relief. "I barely made it in time."
The feral hog turned it's body and prepared itself for another charge. "Get behind me Christy, brother will protect you."]
Christy eyes were tearing after she recalled the memories of her flashback. Her brother was willing to sacrifice his own life in order to protect her, she thought. She brought herself back to the present moment and thought of her next action.
Before Alice could make a move, Christy initiated a sneak attack. She grabbed the concealed tusk dagger she had hidden in her rear satchel and slashed it towards her enemy's neck. The attack was quick. It sounded like it could cut through the wind.
A loud "clank" was made from the impact of the attack. Alice quickly reacted to the tusk dagger by stopping it with the vamp braces protecting her arm. She was shocked by the courage of the small child. Nonetheless, it didn't matter what Christy did, her actions were futile. "No need to be so feisty, kitty cat," Alice whispered.
Alice knocked the dagger away from Christy's hand. She grabbed her arm and threw her off to the side. "Get out of my way shrimp," she yelled out as she snarled at Christy.
Amon watched Christy fall to the ground. "Christy!" Amon shouted. "Don't hurt my sister, you monster," he yelled at Alice.
Amon looked back towards Christy and exclaimed, "RUN! Get as far away from here as you can! You can't defeat her!"
Alice attention was now focused on Amon. She looked at Amon and noticed his inability to move. "He hasn't moved much from this spot," she thought. She stood him up to test her theory. Amon instantly fell to the ground as soon as Alice released him. He was already weak due to his health condition, but had also suffered from a wild hog attack at the age of 15. Ever since then, he had been paralyzed from the waist down. "You're limp," she sighed in disappointment. "In that case, you have no use for Lady Grace," she said as she walked to pick up the tusk dagger.
Off to the side, Christy was in a daze from the impact of being thrown. She was slowly coming together and barely regained her consciousness. When she regained her composure, she could hear her brother yelling at her to run. She looked around for her dagger, only to see that Alice had just grabbed it. She realized the impending danger her brother was about to face.
With the dagger in her hand, Alice propelled towards Amon. "tonight you dine in hell!" she said as she charged for Amon's heart.
Amon was scared, but he had already accepted his fate. He closed his eyes and spread his arms out. He had not experienced much in life, but he felt fulfillment from his accomplishments. He recalled a past memory where he had once stood his ground against a wild hog in order to protect his younger sister…
[He remembered chasing after Christy into the forest and having a hard time catching up to her. He had been born with a rare muscle condition that caused him to spontaneously experience muscle weakness. This weakness made it impossible to hunt, so their father had to bear the full load of supporting the family.
Amon vividly remembers the words of his father before he had disappeared into the forest, "I've had enough of this useless family…" His father had overworked himself for years and could no longer withstand the pressure of supporting his family. The day their father disappeared, their parents were in a heated argument. Two days after, Christy went searching in the forest for her father.
Regardless of his condition, Amon followed Christy into the forest. He felt he played a large role in causing their father to abandon them. After finally catching up with his younger sister, we was once again faced with misfortune. She had run into a feral hog.
Amon rushed to save her and was barely able to push her aside in time. The hog turned it's body and prepared itself to charge. He grabbed a nearby tree branch that had fallen from the surrounding trees to use as a spear. It was short, but the tips were sharp enough to do some damage. "Get behind me Christy, brother will protect you," he shouted.
The hog charged once again, "BORREEEAHH!"
Amon knew he didn't have a chance, but it was still worth a shot. He held on tightly to the short branch and braced himself for the impact of the hog. "RUN," he shouted to Christy.
The hog jetted towards Amon and blasted him 10 feet into the air. "Crackle, POW," could be heard in the background as Amon's body was stopped by the surrounding tree. He was unconscious, but still alive. The hogs tusk pierced his leg and the impact had knocked him out cold. His lower limbs were broken beyond repair.
The hog took a step toward Christy and it let out a loud yell, "RAAAAAAAH." It abruptly fell on it's side and started heaving. The short branch that Amon was holding had lodged itself into the heart of the beast. Amon had slayed the beast]
Amon finishes his recollection of the memory and thinks to himself, "Here I am 8 years later still facing the tusk that once threatened my life." The tusk of the hog had been recreated into a dagger to honor his courageous efforts. It was soon gifted to Christy as a charm to keep her safe.
Alice followed through with her strike. Her speed was much slower compared to her attack with Gale. Her opponent was disabled and unarmed. There was no need for her to use full force.
"AHHHHHHHHH," a loud scream echoed throughout the village. Amon opened his eyes. To his surprise, he did not feel any pain. Neither was he the one to scream out in agony.
