While Trevon thought about his painting teacher. Somewhere in Heavenly Phoenix.
"Hwehwehwe. Move your body a little higher." A small bald old man laughed. He held a brush in his left hand.
"This high?" A female voice was heard. A beautiful lady was posed for the small bald old man. She looked like on fever. Her face was reddish and she was breathing heavily.
"Good! Keep your expression!" Grand Master Vale continued to wipe his brush on the painting while adding spiritual energy on the movement.
[Good.] The bald old man believed this painting would be another masterpiece. He accidentally went to this small village on his way to the capital and found the perfect model.
[That prince could wait for me. Painting a man is not fun. Hwehwehwe.] He decided. More than money, the most important for him was his Byeontae collection.
The Grand Master had no problem with money. At the end of the day, He could just sell a normal Heaven level spiritual painting if he needed some money. There were more demands than the sellers for spirit treasures.
"Hachi..." Suddenly he felt cold. "What happened?" He thought.
"Do you want to wear some clothes, Grand Master?" The lady asked.
"No need! I must show my solidarity with you, Beautiful Fairy." Grand Master Vale smiled before continued his painting.
If Trevon knew this, the newbie painter would admit that the Grand Master was on a different level than him. His teacher would never envy him. He was a Grand Master. The Superstar.
At the same time in Redwood. Trevon opened his bedroom's door.
"What is this grandmother?" Trevon tried to act naively.
"Hmph... Elder Sister. Grandmother makes me felt old. It has been a long time since we have a pillow talk." Issabella said. "Our last pillow talk was when you were only seven years old."
[Do not think that way!] Trevon believed most Celestial Readers would misunderstand this situation. He knew Master Rabbink would write his thought on the novel. [Her pillow talk is only two people shared stories before sleeping.] Trevon continued to explain to prevent misunderstanding.
While Trevon had to admit that his grandmother was very beautiful, she was his grandmother.
Issabella visited Trevon with only her pillow. She wore a silk ivory colored sleeping robe which floated on her curved body. The robe hid some curves on her body.
Sleeping robe in Heavenly Phoenix was usually a one-colored robe made from a silk. Which was similar to the usual inner robe wore during the day. The sleeping robe was softer, thinner, and had better air circulation. Cultivators often preferred to use an expensive silk made from a spiritual silkworm demon beast.
"What? Do you want to reject your elder sister?" Issabella asked Trevon. "Do this young boy mesmerized by this elder sister's body?" Issabella teased Trevon. She pressed the robe to her body. It was a visual nuclear destruction for Trevon. He couldn't accept it.
"Glup..." Trevon couldn't control his action. He felt his head was turned warmer.
"What a naughty boy! I am your ancestor!" Issabella stopped her teasing and controlled ice element in the air to cool the room. She directly entered Trevon's room, while closing the door.
"Come! Talk about your life stories!" She grabbed Trevon's hand and brought him to the bed.
While Issabella was an over eight hundred years old lady, she loved to act like a young lady. Her life was a free one. She did the things that she wanted. Issabella was the Free Phoenix of McArthur, the princess of McArthur, and a main chosen of her generation.
One's power could dictate one's control of his or her own life decision.
Trevon laid next to his grandmother in his bed. Master Rabbink had managed to hide its tablet. It was forbidden to share a more advanced technology to undeveloped culture. Its apprentice was an exception.
"Tell me! Does my grandson already have a lover?" She asked. Some young masters would hide one or two lovers from his family. The girls would appear later after they had been already married. They would be suddenly selected as a concubine or perhaps a second wife, the young masters' real love. Young ladies also did the same.
This was a difficult question for Trevon. He was very famous in Bluestar for his debaucheries. Yet, he had never felt what love was or had any lover. As a member of a great cultivator family, his wife would be selected to build a connection. This was especially since he was no longer a family chosen.
"Grandma..."
"Elder Sister."
"Elder Sister, I truly don't have any lover." Trevon had to admit. While he loved to have fun with Margareth or Cecillia, it was only a fun relationship for him. He only enjoyed being closer to another gender and having a pleasant pleasure while discovering the difference between gender.
"Do not lie to me!"
"I am not. Truly!" Trevon hooked his middle finger into his index finger, a sign of true words.
"What about my elder sister? Who is elder sister's real love?" Trevon tried to change the conversation subject.
"My real love." Issabella was a bit surprised. "Hm..." She looked into the windows.
"My real love is for cultivation." She proudly said. Cultivation was the goal and life of many cultivators. It was even more important than their spouse, sons, and daughters. Becoming stronger was their fights and their goal. Some even discarded their family for cultivation.
"I mean the most loved opposite gender?" Trevon changed his question.
Issabella looked into Trevon. "Hm... I think you are a bit older now. As a member of cultivation family, you have to realize, you have a responsibility for things that you enjoyed so far."
Trevon nodded. As much as he didn't want some responsibility, he had to admit the family had given him many resources and protections.
"This elder sister is a family child." Issabella started her answer. "I knew I will be tasked to give another generation of family's child."
Trevon knew. His grandmother and his grandfather were both family children. They were genius children specially born between two geniuses of the family. Alvaro, his father, was also another family child.
"Since I was young, I have always checked other genius family children around my age." She laughed. "I start to find the potential partners since young. At that time, the family have two geniuses that caught my eyes."
"Who are they, Elder Sister?" Trevon changed his sleeping position, he looked into his grandmother. he had heard the stories from other people, but it was better to hear from the person directly.
"They were your grandfather Douglas and a senior who was the same generation as your grandfather, Audermar."
"Is that First Grandpa Audemar?" Trevon was surprised. He never knew that his first grandfather from Issabella's side was a family child. Audemar wasn't a brilliant cultivator and only a Rank 2 elder. This first grandfather was even a member of Issabella's harem.
"Yes." Issabella said. "I was beautiful since I was young. Many young masters from inside and outside the family had requested my hand in marriage. Even bigger families from other continents had tried to ask my parents. Yet, they didn't know that our McArthur family would never give any family children to other families."
Trevon knew about this. Each family child was the pillar of the family. The family children were the people who would ensure McArthur family could last this long. It was even longer than some imperial families in the continent.
"However, I had my eyes on these two young warriors." Issabella admitted. "Your grandfather, Douglas, was a valiant hero since he was young. While he came from a branch family, he was reckless, brave, and charismatic. Whenever a dungeon opened, he would be the first one to register. No matter what happened, he would be the lucky one." Issabella showed a hint of admiration.
[That is a main character's trait.] Trevon thought. There were so many main characters in his family. He also believed his father was the same. His father couldn't be defeated with whatever danger, somehow always survived on a thin line.
"Your first grandpa, Audermar was also another shining genius in the family. The Perfect Audermar was what everybody called him. He was once the main chosen of his generation. Your grandpa, Douglas couldn't defeat him in the family tournament." Issabella told another new information to Trevon.
"A main chosen?"
"Yes, he is a diligent warrior. Different from your grandfather, he was a person with high calculation. He prepared a lot before doing a mission. His preparations were the best in several generations. He studied every demon beast, every competitor, and every possible trap. His plan could handle everything and he was unbeatable. Any situation, he would have the solution. From the very dangerous situation, he would rise and win. The Perfect Genius." Issabella showed a trace of redness.
"He is my first husband. Your elder sister always had what I want." She proudly said that.
"Why did you pick first grandfather Audermar?"
"Why didn't I pick Douglas?" Issabella smiled.
Trevon knew his grandmother teased him again. He wanted to know more gossips about his own ancestors.
"Douglas is a perverted womanizer." Issabella harrumphed.
Trevon couldn't deny this. Most people had said that Trevon inherited his unreasonable behavior from his grandmother and his perverted behavior from his grandfather.
"And, You! Why did you follow that stinky old man's way?" Issabella pulled Trevon's ear.
"Ouch... I am only a fifteen-year-old boy, Elder Sister. It is normal to feel interested in the other gender. I read it was natural in the book." Trevon wanted to cry. His grandmother pulled using spiritual energy, he couldn't release himself.
"You should follow your father, Alvaro. He is a very family man. I always proud of him."
"Yes... Elder Sister. So, what is the story? I don't think that is the only reason for a marriage." Trevon didn't want to promise. His dream was a harem dream. He had to change the topic again.
[Sigh... I should not allow Alvaro to raise him near Douglas.] Issabella knew it was futile. She continued her story after lecturing Trevon.
"Other family's children also had a similar thought as me. The girls looked around the boys while the boys looked around the girls. Lots boys looked for my hand in marriage. Your first grandfather Audermar was the one who pursued me the longest."
"Oh?" Trevon didn't know this gossip.
"Actually, I was like other foolish young ladies at that time. Rather than the calculated and diligent Audermar, the brave and valiant Douglas was the dream of every young lady in the family." Issabella showed another glint in her eyes.
"Both of them created one success and another. They conquered many inheritance dungeons. In that generation, our family conquered every inheritance." Issabella showed a proud smile on her taintless face.
Trevon could imagine his family prowess, two genius in a generation were a nightmare for other families. This was especially since those two were McArthur geniuses.
"I was a few generations younger and could only walk behind them. However, life was strange. The perfect Audermar suddenly made a big mistake. He competed with another family top genius at that time for an inheritance. He returned injured and defeated."
Trevon had never heard this story. "What happened after that?"
"His injury was too great and his foundation was destroyed. It was a dangerous inheritance dungeon. Only the winner would return safely. Most participants lost their lives. He was lucky that he managed to return. If he wasn't Audermar, he might never return."
Trevon saw a tinge regret on his grandmother's eyes.
"You first grandpa, Audermar was removed as a main chosen. He even lost his chosen position. Since that time, Douglas became the main chosen of his generation. Douglas even defeated the winner who crippled Audermar in another dungeon. Douglas reclaimed the family prestige and walked a flower road after that."
"That's would be hurt mentally." Trevon knew this. He used to be a chosen. It was a position with numerous benefits. Other members of the family would respect and fear those chosens. After he intentionally lost that position, he received less benefits.
"Yes. He didn't come to me after that time." Issabella looked into the ceiling. "I felt I lost someone who was close to me. He often visited me in the past, so the young me decided to return the favor and visited him one day. He was broken. Out of all things, he lost his confidence. At that time, I felt that I wanted to help him recover. I want him to be the old Audermar that covered the continent on his plan and strategy."
"That's the reason you married him?"
"No. I was closer to Douglas at that time. Yet, as I have said, he was a womanizer. You could count his girlfriends from Redwood to Bluestar. Hmph..." Issabella started to vent on Trevon again.
"Ouch! I am not my grandpa." Trevon complained. Issabella just pinched at his waist. [She is a Rank 3 warrior. A Peak one!!!] Trevon screamed in his heart.
"I don't want to become a somebody's harem member. I want to lead my own life free and unchained. Your first grandfather, Audermar, promised me that. We spent some of our time together and somehow, we ended in a marriage. Both of our parents and the family didn't reject it. Your first grandpa was also a family child. They believed our sons and daughters would still have some potential even when Audermar could never reach Rank 3 in his life." Issabella continued.
"But life was strange..." Issabella stopped for a while. She seemed to remember things that she didn't want. "After we married, we had some fights. I felt being controlled. We are young and therefore ended with a divorce."
"You and First Grandfather had a divorce?" Trevon was surprised. It was a rare thing in the world.
"I am a rising genius at that time, the elder didn't dare to antagonize me. Besides, we are different. I and Audermar hurt each other, so it was the best decision." Issabella said. "He wasn't the Audermar that I imagined."
"Why is he still your husband?" Trevon asked.
"He begged me to take him back, but I had decided only to love cultivation. I took some husbands instead when I want male and female relationship."
"I am Issabella McArthur, a genius of my generation. I have passed the other geniuses of my generations. I challenged many dangerous missions and lived through all. I challenged the older generations and beat them. I will never be chained by love or men. Cultivation is my only goal." She squeezed the empty air on her hand.
Trevon was only hearing her. His grandmother was in her world.
"Sigh..." Issabella sighed. "After you live a long time, you will start to forget what love is. Some of my husbands died earlier, even some of my sons and daughters. Only by getting stronger is the way forward for us the cultivators. Remember that!" Issabella told her grandson.
Trevon knew that outside her carefree attitude, his grandmother had her own burdens. "What about grandpa Audermar? You haven't told me when you took him back."
"He begged me. I remembered the past him and allowed him to stay by my side, but only as another husband in my life. Our relationship was only for the bodily needs. The perfect Audermar who I admired was already gone. He had never returned from that mission. The past Audermar is only here." She pointed to her heart.
"Then, What about grandpa Douglas and grandma? How could you select each other?" Trevon asked.
"Elder Sister."
"Yes, Elder Sister." Trevon relented. He wanted to know his grandmother and grandfather's secret.
"As a family child, I had to contribute back to the family. I had received numerous supports from the family. A family child didn't need to face danger to obtain the best cultivation resources. The young Issabella had got everything that a cultivator could dream. I got the best teachers, the best manuals, best treasures, and the best protectors. All biggest secrets of the family were informed to me." Issabella looked into Trevon.
"I have to return this. What we have is what our ancestors had left. One day, I will leave this world, I would also leave a legacy for my family. So, I picked Douglas's proposal. He was the one who asked first. Hahaha." She bragged in front of her grandson.
Trevon heard a totally different version from his grandfather, each had their own ego. Those special family children had their marriage carefully planned. The family didn't care whether there was love or not. They wanted the best gene for the future generations.
"I had to provide three family children to the family." Issabella showed three fingers to Trevon. "Out of other family children who sent marriage proposals to me, your stinky grandpa was the best-looking one. He also only a few generations older than me. This was why I agreed to be his partner rather than with some elderly." Issabella said.
"Douglas hasn't changed. He still the same brave and valiant." Issabella continued. She showed a bit of admiration on her face."Yet! That bastard took a new concubine after I found I was pregnant with your father. I must be crazy when I agreed to your grandfather's proposal." Issabella suddenly reminded of Douglas. She pinched Trevon again. "Aw... I am not grandpa." The unlucky young master became the innocent victim.
"Yes. However, you learned his playboy side."
"That's why you gave birth of aunt Josephine after my father?" Trevon tried to change the topic again. He also felt that this was strange. [Why didn't his grandmother give birth to another child with Douglas? Why did she pick another man?]
"Yeah! Look all my children were geniuses! That bastard Douglas might have more children, but I have carefully selected my partners. The weakest child is still a family elder." Issabella said proudly.
Trevon knew high-ranking female warriors would be more selective in their partners. Unlike a male warrior who could have multiple women pregnant at the same time, a female warrior could only bear her own children. While with power a man and woman treated the same, their physical bodies were different. It couldn't be denied.
For strong female warriors, they had difficulty to get pregnant. High ranked warriors needed more effort to get children. This was especially if their partner was also another high ranked warrior. It was said Alvaro was a lucky strike. Issabella was pregnant after only ten years of marriage.
"I still have to bear two more children with that stinky Douglas." Issabella harrumphed. "I want to reach my peak first before giving birth to more children."
"Elder Sister could make my stinky grandpa wait until you reach Rank 4. Peak Rank 3 is not my elder sister limit." Trevon said. He didn't want to say about the immortal realm. That was too high.
"I have already said that we would have our next child after I reach Peak Rank 3." Issabella said. She still thought that Rank 3 was the limit for a McArthur.
"You could just seclude yourself in cultivation." Trevon suggested.
"This is why you are still a kid. The higher ranked cultivators would care about their face, even it was a shameless one like me. I have made my words. I will keep it. Besides, I have required him to remove all his harems during our time together." A naughty smiled appeared on Issabella's face.
"Since I reached Peak Rank 3, I believe it would take around one hundred years before he could return to them. I don't think his current harem could wait that long. They would become very old when Douglas returned to them." Issabella laughed.
Trevon could imagine the misfortune of his grandfather. He was similar to Trevon. A man dreamed to have a very big harem. With a single man, Douglas managed to create one of the biggest family branches. That was the prowess of Douglas McArthur.
"Now, it is your turn." Issabella changed the subject. "I have told you many things."
"Glup..." Trevon was forced to tell many of his love stories. All were unrequited young love. Trevon had a high standard. He wanted those elegant princesses like Olivia. Yet, he was the bane of those princesses.
Trevon started to tell his failed love life.
They continued their pillow talk until Trevon fell asleep.
