What now?

I lay there sucking in deep breaths of air as I try and think of what to do next. I just want to go home. Was that too much to ask? I felt a pair of eyes on me. I turned my head and came face to face with one of the cutest little squirrel...ferret? things I'd ever seen. It was a silver-white with black beady eyes. Its little nose sniffed at me and it's little head tilted to the side. "I'm confused too little guy," I say as I sit up and look around.

I could see what looked like a road in the distance and looked back at the large wall of the trees. My heart hurt thinking of the trees. I know I need to keep moving. It would only be a matter of time before they went back around to get out. Taking a deep breath I winced as I stood. I looked down at my feet and sighed. By taking my shoes off I bought myself a little time and I knew I could never run in the heels I had on from the club. Sighing I brushed it off and started for the road.

From what I understood this was another world and one with magic and power. I have no money I'm tired and hungry. I need to think of a plan. I suddenly remember the seed the old tree handed me and I looked down at it. It was all that was left. I refused to cry as I wiped my eyes. I lifted my head and started walking as I put the seed in my pocket. I was almost to the dirt road when I heard the grass moving behind me. I turn to see the little guy following me.

I frown as I look at him. He stops to look at me. "I don't have food... I'm probably going to die in the next day or so... so I wouldn't follow me okay? Shoo." I say waving my hand at him. "Don't shoo me! I'm very aware of your state and I'm following you because I have to." The little creature says walking to me. I take several steps back in shock. It talks... "You have to?" I ask with caution. If I was talking to trees I guess talking to animals would be expected right?

"Yes, you drank the water which was the very thing I need to grow stronger. It's no longer there so I will now stay with you," it says walking past me to the road. "Huh... I see." I say out loud but I don't see anything! I'm so confused but the idea of not being completely alone made my heart ease a little. I'm at my limit with taking in information. Nothing makes sense here so I decided to focus on surviving. If I managed to do that I will try and make sense of everything.

"Right... I guess that works... do you have a name?" I asked walking behind him. "Yup the name is Fig and you?" he asked as we stepped on the road. "My name is Syn... nice to meet you Fig," I say uncertain. Fig grunts and keeps walking like he knows where he's going. "So fig.. do you know where we're going?" I look up and down the road but I don't see anything. "I have no idea sweet cakes. All I know is that we need to put as much distance between us and the light fae prince who wants your pretty little head." Fig said picking up the pace.

How could something so small move to fast? I started power walking to keep up. "So the one on the horse was the light fae prince?" I ask trying to clear things up. "Yes, and he's a big nasty. I've heard the stories to let's keep moving." Fig says as his cute plumb little butt wiggles back in fourth at his pace. I smile as I ask "If he's light fae wouldn't he be good?" I asked confused. Snort "This isn't a fairy tale sweet cheeks. Light and dark don't mean anything here. All anyone cares about it becoming the strongest and you be wise to start yourself if you plan to live." Fig said as he kept his pace.

I nodded my head taking in the information. So the names don't imply anything and if I want to survive I need to become stronger. I'm not against that but I have no idea on how to do just that. People have powers here. Magic. As far as I know, I have no magic and the only power I have is the ability to sleep for twelve hours straight. Which I could totally do at the moment if I didn't have a horde chasing after me wanting to gut me. My stomach took that moment to let Myself and Fig know just how hungry it was.

Fig shook his head and said, "I know you're hungry but we can't stop until we get to the next town okay?" I felt uncomfortable having him tell me that... like he was taking care of the big dumb human. "I understand I won't slow you down," I said while rolling my eyes. I looked around taking in the plants and trees trying to see the difference between this world and my world. The plants were healthier and the colors here seem brighter.. more vivid. Then I noticed how peaceful it felt... I could feel it. I could feel the land, it's magic... My pace slowed as I realized things had changed. I had changed.
