Awkward

After changing I walk back to the living room to find Fig watching Rune look at everything in the house. "Look Rune, I really do appreciate you coming all the way here and wanting to protect me but I've got this," I say crossing my arms and leaning against the wall. He stops and says "I'm sorry to break it to you love but you don't have anything. Are you willing to put your life and the lives of your friends and family in danger?"

I bite my lip and his golden eyes catch it before going back to all the potted plants. "You really like plants.." He says poking at my fern. I stay put and keep quiet. "Look, I know you aren't just going to come back and even though I could throw your pretty little ass over my shoulder and bring you back.. we both know you'd hate me for it. I will stay here with you and do my best to keep you safe."

We stare at each other and I realize I'm not getting rid of him.

I sigh and say "Fine but this is all on you. I want you to go back but you're too damn stubborn." He gives me an evil grin and I don't know if it's hot or if I want to punch him in the face. He turns to me and says "Well since this has been cleared up I have a few things I need to take care of. I'll be back once I'm done." I give him a sarcastic look as he shifts right in front of me. I try to step back but I hit the wall behind me. He leans in and quietly says "This is for you. Try and stay out of trouble while I'm gone." I can feel his soft lips against my neck and it gives me goosebumps. Before I can say anything he shifts away and disappears.

Well, shit.. was I ever going to get the upper hand on him? I put my hand against the spot his lips touched and feel something like a necklace. Confused I pull at it and try to see what it is. It was hands down the prettiest necklace I'd ever seen. It looked like a single teardrop shaped crystal hung from what looked like a silver string... I walk to the bathroom to get a better look. The crystal looked like it continuously changed colors and it did seem like a silver chain. It was beautiful but I wasn't keeping it.

I reach up to take it off only to keep spinning the necklace in confusion. It didn't have a clasp. How had he put it on? I try to lift it over my head but the necklace is too small and won't go over my big head. Ugh.. Seriously?? I try everything I can think of before just getting pissed and trying to rip the thing off. I looked like a deranged dog. I pull but it doesn't give. I pull harder and my neck starts to hurt. "I'm going to kill him!" I yell as I make my way to the kitchen.

Fig only glances at me before going back to his TV show. Big help he was.. The house was still a mess and it took all the skills I possessed to walk across the floor still covered in soapy water. I pulled out the kitchen scissors I used to cut chicken bones in the past and take it to the necklace. Nothing.. I try harder and the scissors snap. I slowly put the scissors down and take a few deep breaths before calling Fig over.

"Get it off.." I say growling. Fig looks at the necklace then back to me and says "I can try.. but this necklace looks like it's enchanted." I pull my hair back and stare at him. He shrugs his little shoulders and goes to chewing. Nothing. "Syn.. if he put this on you then he's probably the only one who can take it off." Fig says rubbing his little teeth. Sighing I say "Thank you for trying Fig.. I don't think he'll take it off." I say sounding defeated.

"Well.. It's a nice necklace and judging by the looks of it... it's probably priceless." Fig says eyeing the crystal. I look back down at the crystal and sigh. Whatever. There are worse things and when I see him again I'll have him remove it no matter what. No matter how nice it is.. it's still a collar. I turn and look at the mess in the house and say "Well it was fun while it lasted. Are you gonna help clean up the mess you had a paw in creating?" Fig takes off running and says something about squirrel watching. "You know it's nighttime right?" I yell after him but he doesn't even flinch. "Turd.." I turn around and get to cleaning.
