Back at the club

While up on stage Fig hides in my hair close to my neck and he's loving every minute of it. I was enjoying myself as well until I spotted Keen. The same fae I encountered in the forest. No matter how much I wanted to act like nothing had changed... It had. I no longer saw people the same way either. I could feel them in ways I never could before. The same went for the music I created. I could mix my power into it and when I did the crowd loved it.

Even now the crowd cheered as the bass dropped and my power freely flowed. My power washed out over everyone and I caught Keen taking a deep breath in before smiling at me. I knew it was only a matter of time before they showed themselves. For the past week or so I've felt them creeping around and it was starting to piss me off. I didn't like being prey and I wasn't about to start now. I pull energy in through my feet to power up.

I see the moment Leon feels it because he stops talking and looks over to me in question. He scans the crowd and catches sight of Keen. His face changes and without saying a word all his men turn to look and stand, waiting for a command. Being Vampire Leon can communicate with his men without saying a single word out loud. Pretty cool trick.. one I'm hoping to pick up. I look back out to the crowd and grin at Keen causing his smile to fade.

Suddenly a larger man appears right behind Keen and the look on Keen's face is priceless. When the man looks up I see a pair of golden eyes. Shit. Rune? Rune says something next to the man's ear and he freezes as all the color drains from his face. Rune looks up to me and grins.. I don't know if it's the lighting or if he's just that terrifying. I try and act like nothing's wrong so my show keeps going but I can't shake the chill I got from his look. Keen and Rune disappear and I suddenly feel bad for Keen.. well kinda.

I try to stay focused but Leon starts to leave as well and I want to know what's was going on. Where had Rune come from? I hadn't felt him all night but he couldn't have suddenly shown up at the right time... He was a lot stronger than I had realized. He had probably been here the whole time and I just didn't know it. We were going to have a talk. I finish my show and step down for the next DJ.

I make my way over to the bar where Jay and Kat are waiting for me. "Awesome as always!" Jay says over the music and hands me a shot. I look at the shot then back at the grin on his face before smiling and taking the shot. It burned the whole way down but it was a good burn. "That smells horrible.." Fig says popping his head out a little. I laugh and say "Yeah well we all don't know fae princes who have awesome magically brewed alcohol." Fig grins and agrees. I can feel his little body slightly bouncing to the beat and couldn't keep the grin off my face.

"Fig, Keen was here and Rune took him away. Leon disappeared shortly after and if I'm not mistaken I think they're somewhere here in the building. We need to look for them okay?" Fig nods and says "I'm ready when you are." I turn to Jay and say "I need to go see Leon for a minute." He nods and I look at Kat hitting on some guy at the bar. She's been so distant with me lately.. I need to find out what's going on with her. I give Jay a small smile and walk away.

I push my way through the crowd and soon find my way to the back of the club. All the bouncers were gone except five which is unheard of in a club this size. They had to have Keen here. I start going to every door in the hall but couldn't find anything. I try and use my power to feel around and couldn't find anything except a hollow feeling at the end of the long hall. I turn and look but don't see anything.. It has to be there. I walk to the wall and put my hands against it. Nothing. Too much nothing.

I try to push at it but it gets me nowhere. I push with my power and it feels like something super powerful pushes back at me causing me to step back. "What the hell..." I say looking at the wall. "Looks like it's warded and it feels like it might be Rune. If he doesn't want you in there you aren't gonna be able to get in." Fig says eyeing the wall. I make a face and try again. The wall pushes back just as hard and I almost fall on my butt. "I swear I'm going to kill that fae.. first the necklace, now this!" Knowing I wasn't getting anywhere I walk off and decide to head outside for some fresh air.

I took a few deep breaths trying to figure out how I was going to handle Rune when I felt a different kind of power. I look up to find Ryder himself. My heart drops to my feet and I'm pretty sure I forget how to breathe. He walks up closer eyeing me from head to toe. Fig goes on high alert and growls in warning. Ryder ignores Fig and shifts right in front of me and slowly reaches out.

I thought my brain had stopped working but that wasn't the case at all. No. His power held me completely still and I couldn't move an inch. Fig seemed to be frozen as well and I suddenly realized we were in trouble. Rune had the same power to do this.. he just didn't. Ryder gently grabs the necklace hanging around my neck. He looks from it then back to me and slightly grins saying "Seems like I have found something extremely interesting."
