Playing Along

I stare at Ryder without saying anything.. He smirks a little and says "We got off on the wrong foot but I have the feeling that you and I will make a good pair in the future." He turns and walks back over to the papers he was reading. He picks them up and walks over to me holding them out. I look at the papers then back to him with a look of confusion.

I take the papers with a trembling hand. He watches me and waits. I look down and it takes a few moments for my brain to understand what I was seeing. My fear of Ryder is temporarily forgotten as my heart starts to freeze. This can't be... I look up in question and find Ryder watching me. Watching my reaction.

"This.. you can't be serious.." I say in a small voice and Ryder gives me a cold smile. "I'm most definitely serious. This will be the birth of a new world. My world and you will be there with me recreating the world as it was always meant to be." My head starts spinning as panic sets in.

"If you do this.. you will be killing all the humans.. all of them. There are children! Grandparents.. parents.. YOU CAN'T DO THIS!" I throw the papers at him shaking with fear and anger. This was an ancient plant that was poisonous to humans.. all humans. The plants where located here in the fae world and it was part of the reason humans couldn't survive here.

The plants were harmless here and as soon as anyone brought the plant over to the human world it would wither and die making it safe but this plan... Ryder has a way to grow the plants in the human world.. if he were to follow through with this then.. Mom.. Dad.. my friends. NO! I can't let him do this!

Ryder doesn't blink as the papers fly around him and to the floor "Oh it won't be me doing it dear.. it'll be you." My world tilts and I take a step back laughing but it was flat and lacking any true humor. "Me? No.. I'm sorry to inform you Ryder but I have no intention of helping with this and I will do everything in my power to stop this from ever happening." I say clenching my fist and finding my strength. He smiles and says "I thought you'd say that."
