Worried

I lift Fig and watch with worry when his little body stays limp. "Don't do this to me Fig.. you're scaring me.." I say and quickly stand. I look from the wall then back to Fig feeling torn. Rune will be okay right? He is a big, bad dark fae.. I grit my teeth and turn away from the wall.

Rune better be okay.. but I just can't leave Fig like this. Please be okay. I try to shift to the healers but find that I can't. I sigh and take off running. I hold Fig close while I send out a silent pray out for the both of them. I bust through the door to find the entire place packed and filled with cries of agony.

Some fae were missing very important body parts while others were heavily bleeding. I walk into the room looking for the healer I was with earlier. "Lady Syn!" The healer says catching my attention. I rush over to him holding Fig's limp little body out to him saying "Something's wrong please help him." My voice shakes as tears threaten to spill.

"Lady Syn, I'm more concerned about you. Please allow me to heal you." I shake my head and say "No, I'm fine but Something's wrong with him. Please!" I shove Fig to him and the old fae looks at Fig with a frown before sighing and taking him. "Follow me then.."

I follow him on shaky legs. He leaves the room with all the other injured fae and leads me to a set of stairs that lead underground. I only hesitate for a moment before following him down. The stair lead to a long hallway that opens up to a large underground pool. It looked like the pool Fig and I came across when we first came here!

The old fae walks over to the pool and stops to look at me before saying "He's too tiny for our healers to work on and we normally work on fae.. I don't know how to help an animal but I do know these waters are healing for fae and animals alike. You will need to hold him in the water so he doesn't drown. Can you do that?"

I numbly nod my head and walk over taking Fig. "You should just get in with him, you are still unwell." The old fae says. I quickly kick off my shoes and slip into the water. It's warm and comforting and I find my stiff body slowly relaxing. I dip Fig into the water covering him from head to toe, making sure his little mouth and nose are above the water.

"I have to head back up and help the others but I'll be back in a bit." The old fae says before turning around and walking away. "Thank you.." I say in a soft voice causing the old fae to pause. He nods his head before turning back around and leaving. I look back down to Fig and feel a hot tear run down my cheek.

"You have to be okay Fig.. Please wake up.. if you wake up I promise I'll make you everything and anything you want to eat.. just please.." I hold him close and place my forehead on his tiny head doing my best to hold my tears back.. but I was failing. Hot angry tears burned their way down my face and before I realized it.. I was ugly crying.
