Confusion

I watch as Rune quickly shifts away and I'm left with a blank look. What in the world was going on? He had seemed fine earlier... Then he became angry all of a sudden... really angry. I do my best to think back at the exchange but I couldn't think of anything. My eyebrows come together as I try to think.

My headache increases and I begin rubbing my temples. Forget it, I will just ask him when he gets back. I turn back to find Fig asleep next to his bowl of food and frown. He must still be tired... I walk over and scoop him up. My frown grows when he doesn't wake up. "Fig?" I ask in a soft voice.

He slowly blinks his eyes and says "I'm fine, I'm fine.. just tired." He closes his eyes again falling back to sleep. I decide that both of us could use a nap and try to shift to our room. My head explodes in pain as my world starts to tilt. I reach out and brace myself against the wall keeping Fig tucked in close. What was wrong? I look back down to Fig as I take a few deep, calming breaths.

I decide to head back to the healers and talk to the old fae. I wasn't sure why but... something just wasn't right. At the thought I begin to worry. After getting lost several times I finally find the healers and when I see the familiar old fae I make my way over.

"Lady Syn, how may I help you?" I shake my head and say "Just call me Syn please.. I want to know if Fig is okay." I lift Fig out to him and the old fae frowns. He lifts his old wrinkled hand and I watch as a pure, white light begins to flow out and onto Fig.

Fig doesn't seem to notice anything and continues to sleep peacefully. The old fae's frown grows and says "I honestly can't tell. He is an animal and biologically different. I can't see or feel anything wrong though.." The light fades and he pulls his hand back.

"And me? Am I okay?" I ask with uncertainty. He gives me an apologetic look and says "Again.. you were once human and now.. you are completely different. Nether human or fae… I am at a lost my dear. I wish I could but.. sigh.. you are more than welcome to soak in the healing waters if you'd like?" I give him a little smile and politely decline.

I turn and head for my room. I look down to Fig's sleeping body and feel my stomach sink. Something wasn't right.. I don't know what but it can't be good. I decide to head to the outer gardens instead. Maybe that cave can help.. It has magic of it's own.
