A one way trip

*BEEP!!

*BEEP!!

*BEEP!!

"Ah! Shut up will you!" a fist angrily smashed into the innocent alarm clock, scatter itself in all directions.

It took a good few second for Alex's brain to register both what he had done, and the pain that came with his action. Like a trigger, the pain kicked in, causing his other hand to subconsciously cover up the side of palm before he gritted his teeth and endured.

It didn't take long for the pain to die down since it was just a like any other paper cut or stubbing your little toe, a temporary but painful thing.

"Well… grandpa won't be happy, but at least he won't find out until I have left for king's cross," Alex softly chuckled before focusing his attention," I guess I have half an hour. "

In the year 2031, King's Cross station had grown to become 2nd largest station in the world which normally had over 1 million people use it in 6 hours, and that was when it was not rush hour. It was so large that the local government had to install experimental Diasporic pads which made use of Max's lukeman theory of light curvature and how it specifically ignore Newton's law of 'every action had an equal and opposite reaction' to create essentially, short range teleportation pads.

Platforms 3-20 were dedicated over ground hyper loop stations. Hyper loop had been in the testing for since the year 1968. At first it was a government military secret but when President Ronald Regan came in power, he cut the military funding for it so it became slowly more public. In truth it was not until 2027 when famous scientist Cheng Delan discovered the properties of Gravitons worked that gravity could become a factor that could be manipulated. This meant that the sudden Change in G forces that use to be a problem would no longer be one. This in turn meant that they hyper loop became a mainstream and cheap way to travel.

Alex was like a helpless chick that had lost its mother. Surrounded by countless people and daunted by the countless holographic display that lit up the station like fireworks. Too his surprise however, platform 3 seemed to avoid like the plague.

"Well I guess anyone would be afraid of those two hulks in sunglasses and suits behind a beautiful woman," Alex muttered to himself as gather the courage he needed and head to platform 3.

"Hello there, are you here for M.H?" The woman had a melodious voice that sounded like the devil temptation.

Alex felt his cheeks go red a bit and noticed the woman smiling and stuttered," U-U-Uh.. yes, my name is A-A-Alex."

Alex wanted to punch himself for making a fool of himself but the woman seemed not to care.

The woman took out a tablet and started swiping the screen downwards. Since the screen itself was see through, Alex could see countless names rapidly flickering by, faster than he could process.

The screen suddenly stopped," found it. Alex Hackett, correct?"

"Yes."

"Okay, please board the second carriage," the woman smiled innocently as she moved to one side to let Alex pass.

He swiftly nodded before walking with a swift pace towards his carriage. As he moved along he noticed how the glass wall of the carriages not only had the logo imprinted onto it, but more importantly the glass was reinforced with steel bars.

The hyper loop itself was designed to be made purely of glass so that in the case of an accident, the person inside go smash the one way bulletproof glass and safely escape. However by reinforcing it with steel bars, it was almost as if saying that they did not want people escaping.

Alex didn't ponder over it further as he got onto his carriage. There were a few other kids his age but no one was talking or anything so Alex decided to talk the less awkward approach and sat down in an empty corner, put some headphones in and sleep, unaware of the rest of the world.

"Madam, do those kids really deserve this?" one of the bodyguards turned to the woman who tapped the final student on the register.

"Well, it is not up to us is it? Their parents obviously agree since they sent them to hell and it is the higher ups jobs to be worrying about legal issues like. All we have to do is follow orders," the woman replied," okay then, let us get on now, this one way trip."

The woman started softly giggling with a sadistic delight as she jumped onto the last carriage.
