The true Emperor and Empress

"...Li'er, you know what I mean." Qing Su gave Qing Li a serious look.

"The things we have done are already etched into the history books of those who opposed us. You think just because what we have done isn't written in those common books found in libraries we can just get away with it? You can keep acting, but for those who really know, we aren't the kind and 'loving' rulers that we seem to be, there's a mountain of corpses underneath each step that we take." Qing Li replied with bad temper, and a hint of impatience.

"We have changed our ways." Qing Su flatly said.

"What about our nicknames. The 'Shameless Devils', or the 'Twin Disasters', the 'Deadly Old Couples', and the 'Run if you see them'...." Qing Li harped on.

"You think they stopped calling us these names because they thought we changed for good? NO. It's because they FEAR US. They don't want to suffer anymore torment." Qing Li said with a hint of pride and an almost unnoticeable sinister smile at the corner of her lips.

"Clearly you are not very fond of our new lives, our new personality..." Qing Su sighed.

Meanwhile...

"Ah. Looks like I'm going to be heading towards the 4 Elements Continent soon huh." Qing Yi thought to himself.

"What really has me confused is why the 4 Elements Continent only has 3 Elemental sects... From what I remember looking through the royal library, there apparently used to be a sect called the Water Sect. There aren't many records about it and I forgot to ask dad and mom. Ah well, I'll find out in time." Qing Yi mused.

While Qing Yi was thinking about the mysterious disappearance of the Water Sect, he arrived at his own area of the palace. Only the main bloodline of the royal family is permitted to stay in the palace, over the years Qing Yi had rarely interacted with other kids of the Qing family, except for a few. One of them was Qing Han, a fat, greedy, but brutally honest kid the same age as him, which Qing Yi somehow took a liking to.

"Qing Yi! I've been waiting outside your room for hours man. What have you been up to on your birthday?" Qing Han turned out to be waiting outside Qing Yi's room.

"Hahaha, father Emperor and mother Empress had some plans for my future in cultivation, so they had me attend the main hall." Qing Yi replied whilst walking towards his main chamber.

"What plans did they have for you?" Qing Han asked curiously.

"They want me to go to the middle continent, the 4 Elements Continent. What? You wanna come?" Qing Yi playfully asked.

Qing Yi was considered to be Qing Han's best friend, they often times ate and sparred with each other. They also had their fair share of creating ruckuses throughout the entire Imperial City.

"What!? You're leaving? Why?" Qing Han almost seemed to be a bit teary eyed.

"So are you going to follow me or not." Qing Yi probed.

"I want to... but I don't think my parents would allow me..." Qing Han's reply was filled with sorrow, it almost seemed that he really wanted to follow Qing Yi.

To Qing Han, Qing Yi really was as close as a blood brother could get. It all started from 1 year ago...

Qing Han was playing around in a forbidden area for non-cultivators, the Beast Ridge Mountain, which the Qing family sends their cultivators to to train. He was only skirting around the outer perimeter of the mountain when all of a sudden he fell into a trap made by other cultivators. Crying for hours, and being the glutton that he is, he started to feel hunger, thirst and also extreme tiredness. It was then that the hero of his life appeared.

It turns out Qing Yi was also near the Beast Ridge Mountain practicing his bow skills when he heard some ear wrenching sounds from the woods nearby. Slowly heading towards it, he realized that the sounds were coming from a trap he made a few weeks back, thinking it was faulty.

As he approached the pit the sounds were a bit more distinguishable. Elated, he thought:

"Yes! I've caught a wild pig! This new trap design really does work well!"

Lifting the cover of his trap, his excitement immediately died down.

"What the f*ck?" Qing Yi was feeling a plethora of emotions. Shock, Sadness, Anger...

Lifting what seemed to be the greatest disappointment of his life up, he was prepared to leave when Qing Han suddenly pounced at Qing Yi.

"OH GREAT BENEFACTOR! YOU'VE SAVED MY LIFE AND NOW YOU'RE GIVING ME FOOD?" Qing Han's hands found their way into Qing Yi's satchel and took what food was remaining out of them.

Perhaps it wasn't intentional and that it was just the pure instinct of hunger taking over him, Qing Han really meant no harm when snatching all that food. In his mind, Qing Yi's image just seemed to be like a god descending in his greatest moments of despair.

"WHAT THE F*CK! THATS MY LUNCH!" Qing Yi in anger almost did a full revolution kick on Qing Han's face but calmed down when he thought about how everything started because of his trap. In guilt, he decided to just give his food away as compensation and leave when Qing Han pounced at him once more.

"OH BENEFACTOR! I -" Qing Yi could no longer tolerate Qing Han's obnoxious voice so he cut in.

Thinking Qing Han was about to thank him for saving him and giving him food, he decided to just say a few words to push him off and continue on his hunting journey.

"Its okay, I -" Qing Yi was about to finish his sentence when-

*snatch*

"..." Qing Yi.

"I'M SO THIRSTY AS WELL! THANK YOU BENEFACTOR FOR THE WATER!" Qing Han finished his sentence.
