67 Back in the city

Ling Tian laid there on the grass for a whole morning. Without moving his body a single time, his eyes had remained closed for just as long.

The time quickly passed by as the afternoon approached. The blazing hot rays of the sun were slowly becoming moderately warm as it left the mountains.

At that moment, the stone like Ling Tian finally opened his eyes. After a full morning of healing, the soul Qi and spiritual Qi he had used up was finally replenished.

After the full morning of continuous healing, Ling Tian's body was finally back to full health. Upon getting up, he immediately left for the official road back to Ziyou City.

The official road was filled with caravans escorted by groups of armed yet blood-soaked mercenaries. Although Ling Tian was a lone traveler, no one paid extra attention to him. Despite his bloody clothes from the wounds he gained, to every single mercenary within the Divine wind continent, this was a very common sight to see. Practically every mercenary had seen these types of things every day.

Soon enough, Ling Tian entered Ziyou City and waited for the city guards to come and inspect him. Since he had the image of an injured and bloody survivor, there was no monetary tax to enter the city. Although the guards were greedy for money, their greed was not without morals.

Upon entering Ziyou City, Ling Tian didn't take a stroll and immediately headed towards the Chu'er house.

He reached the Chu'er house in a few minutes and started knocking. No one answered...

(No one is answering? I told them I will be here in the morning and it's afternoon now. maybe they went out for something)

*Growl*

The sound of grumbling came from his stomach.

"Oh, I forgot that I haven't eaten since yesterday. I will first eat then search for them."

After saying those words he started walking toward the restaurant.

Ling Tian entered a restaurant and ordered a few dishes to eat his fill. After hunting and killing made Ling Tian's stomach a bit hungry.

Right now was the busiest time for the restaurant, the environment inside was already very lively.

The people coming and going was like an endless stream and filled up the tables in a flash. Even the waitresses of the restaurant were constantly scampering around busily taking orders and delivering dishes.

"Little brother, the seats here are all occupied already. Could I possibly sit here with you?"???

At that moment, a deep sounding voice came from behind Ling Tian. Turning his head to look at the source, Ling Tian saw a middle-aged man with a big smile on his face. He stood across on the opposite side of Ling Tian and stared at him with a good-natured look.

The middle-aged man looked to be around 40 years old and wore a cyan colored robe. However, to Ling Tian's sharp eyes, this robe was made of coarse material and so was categorized as a cheap cloth. With his short black hair, there was nothing about him that stood out–even his good-natured smile wasn't a fake one.

Ling Tian nodded his head with a smile, "Since the restaurant has suddenly filled up, I can't possibly use up all this room by myself, come and sit with me!"

"Then, many thanks, little brother." The other man laughed as he cupped his hands together. Then he pulled out the stool and sat down on it.

"Miss, a cup of wine and a pound of your finest horse meat!" The man called out.

"Okay, please wait a moment honored customer!" The waitress called back.

Ling Tian stared at the middle-aged man in front of him for a while before finally tearing his eyes off of him and looking back at his own meal.

The middle-aged man looked at Ling Tian and chuckled, "And what should I call this younger brother?"

"Ling Tian!" He responded with a mouthful of meat, so the words did not come out as audibly.

"Ling Tian, heh, what a pleasant name." The middle-aged man sized up Ling Tian with his eyes and then opened his mouth to ask, "Brother Ling Tian, I'm assuming you are a mercenary as well."

He nodded his head, "Correct, but because my strength is quite low, I am only one of the lowest of D ranked mercenaries."

A mercenary's rank corresponded with their strength and their merits from missions done. The lowest of the D ranked mercenaries were generally newbie cultivators, however, there were a few cultivators that did not yet condense their Bloodlines were amongst the D ranked mercenaries. Even though the middle-aged man looked to be quite well natured, Ling Tian didn't dare to reveal his precise strength to him.

The man laughed with no ill intentions, "Little brother, you can't be any older than 20 years old. Once you've successfully condensed your Spiritual Qi into a Bloodline, then your potential will be unlimited." The man's words were sincere, but after he spoke, he gave a long sigh. "Thinking back, I was 22 years old when I first condensed my Bloodline and broke through to become a Martial Human Realm. To think the little brother here is only 20 years old and is a Martial Human Realm warrior. I don't think it'll be too far off until there will be another gifted Martial Emperor realm warrior in the future." When the three words 'Martial Emperor realm," was said, the man's face had looked almost expectant.

Hearing that, Ling Tian couldn't help but look at the middle-aged man once more. While he had a better impression of this man, it was still nothing more than just that.

"what Bloodlines could be awaken even after 20?!!!" Ling Tian.
