It was 08.00 in the morning when Red met Nong Gie in the village entrance. The group consisted of 5 wagons. Some merchants still tried to persuade Red to sell, but he professionally rejected them. Red was a 10-star negotiator in his past life.
He paid some money to the merchant and laid on top of the sack of grains. He talked with Nong Gie about the city.
This journey took him 3 hours. He finally arrived in the city at 11.00.
The city was small. Red had seen far bigger cities in other planets. On some planets, this place would be even called a small village.
"Welcome to the Hundreds Palm City!" Nong Gie said to Nong Xie.
Red wasn't impressed with the city. All buildings were made of dried mud. A wooden base would be built before the people would use mud to plaster the exterior. This would create a strong structure which was cool inside. Most buildings were only 1 floor high. There were few with 2 stories or higher.
"Come here! I will show you around." Nong Gie would only start to work tomorrow.
He went to show Nong Min to a few milling companies. Red used the chance to ask their rate. All were acceptable. However, his dream to sell directly would be hard. He had seen the people. There were too few rich people in the city.
He might need to find some merchants to sell his harvest to other cities.
"Do you know who the biggest grain merchant in the city is?"
"You want to sell directly?" Nong Gie was surprised. "You will need to sell at least 500 tons before they would accept you."
"I only want to know." Nong Min smiled. The landlords were smart, they had some shares in the business. If they limited the field for every farmer, they could get another margin by forcing the farmer to sell to them first.
"It is the Heaven Thunder Merchant Association. They have a branch here. You could purchase everything there. I heard you want a buffalo, they had a special mixed breed. Do you want to see the store?"
"Yes." Red was even happier when he heard buffalo. [Why am I happy because of a common buffalo?] He wondered. [This must be Nong Min memory.]
Red and Nong Gie visited the Heaven Thunder Merchant Association. Red knew from the building that it was different. Its exterior was made by using processed mud. It was softer than the other houses in the city. There were also various carvings which showed its luxury status.
The pair of villagers entered the store and looked around.
What was most fascinating for Red was a buffalo. It was a Primary 0-star Demon Beast. When he reached the pinnacle of the Lower Mortal Realm, he was a Perfect Heaven Tier demon beast. Heaven Tier was the name of 10-star on his former mortal planet. There were 10 small steps for each tier, which were Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Lower Middle, Middle, Middle Above, Top, Half Peak, Peak, and Perfect. However, this was not fixed. The owner of this universe loved to change the rules. Sometimes there might be 10 small steps for each tier. Sometimes there were only 3 steps.
In short, it was annoying. This was even more for the devils. They had a time limit before they conducted an attack. Most devils were unprepared during the last battle. Some were even still very weak mortals during the battle. They were easily defeated.
A fat but happy attendant came to the pair.
"Did you have any interest to purchase this earth grinding buffalo, boss?" The attendant treated the two with respect. This showed the class of this store.
"How much is this buffalo? I want to save money for it." Red didn't dare to say that he could buy it.
"This is only 10 spirit stones or 10.000 gold coins." The attendant said.
Nong Gie looked flustered while Red frowned. [My Nong Min part didn't want me to use my Red's wealth to purchase this buffalo. What a stubborn person, I am.] Red sighed.
"You can believe that this buffalo would worth the price. It could live until 500 years old. You could give it to your descendant. Do not ask about its power! 1 km square area could be plowed in 1 day. Its manure was also good for fertilizer. It was even better than the factory-made." The attendant promoted.
"Thank you. I will save money to buy it." Red said. "I also want to ask." Red opened his pouch.
I want to sell these grains to you. Is this store interested to purchase?"
The attendant showed a bit disappointed expression. "We will need a minimum of 500 tons before we talked about purchasing."
"I could supply that." Red said.
"Fine, follow me!" The attendant brought Red to a counter.
"Pst... Nong Min. Do you really have that many grains?" Nong Gie felt afraid.
"Do not worry! I have a way."
The attendant brought him to an old man.
"Boss, these two wanted to sell you rice grains."
"I only purchased in 500 tons." The boss kept making his calculation.
"I could supply that amount." Red said confidently.
The boss finally stopped his calculation and looked into Nong Min.
"Show me! The grains." The old man felt strange with the aura. Nong Min was clearly a common farmer, but he looked like a cultivator.
Red took his pouch and gave it to the old man. There was a sparkle in the man's eyes.
"I will buy the usual price, 1 ton for 12 silvers. When could you deliver the grain?" The boss continued to his calculation back.
"I am not selling it for the usual price." Red was calm. "Thank you for your attention, I am looking for other channels."
"Hey! You have rejected the deal. They would purchase your grain at a 20% premium." Nong Gie whispered to Red. Normally it was 10 silver for 1 ton when they sold the grains in the village.
Red only smiled. He left the boss and the attendant.
"Wait! How much do you want to sell the rice?" The boss stopped Red. He knew this farmer knew the quality of his harvest.
"1 ton for 1 gold coin." Red said.
"1 ton for 80 silver coins. That is my final price. We need to transport this to another city."
"Fine. It's a deal."
"How many do you have? When could you deliver the grains?"
"As long as you give me a warehouse, I will deliver it to you tomorrow. I could supply 1.000 tons per season. If you want it to be milled first, I will need an additional 1 day." Red calculated.
"I will wait for you tomorrow." The boss continued his writing. He had his own milling factory.
"You managed to sell 1 ton for 80 silver coins. You are rich. Are you sure you have that many grains?" Nong Gie asked.
"I have some friends who also cultivate these grains. I need your help to rent a location! I also need a carriage to bring the grains."
"You ask the correct person. Do not forget your cousin! I know somewhere you could rent cheaply."
Red stayed with Nong Gie that night. He already rented a small house near the alliance and also rent a small carriage to carry the grains. He would pay the house rent after he got the money from the alliance.
The next day, Nong Gie needed to work so he went earlier. This allowed Red some freedoms. He went into the small house and started to take the grains from his universe into the house. He already packed the grains into several sacks each was 100 kg.
He brought the first batch to the alliance store and sold them for 80 silvers. He asked for more sacks and told that he would return to bring more grains.
This process took an entire day for Red but he only managed to pack 100 tons. [This could be considered as training.]
He heard a notification on his mind that day.
[Lv 0 Mission: Save 20 gold coins for the next farming season.]
[Mission Completed]
[User got 1.000 Destiny Energies.]
Red tried to absorb those destiny energies. While he still wasn't a cultivator, he could feel that his body had become stronger.
In the next 10 days, Red delivered the grains into the stores. He got a total of 800 gold coins for all his efforts. It was a huge number for Nong Min. Nong Min needed years of work to get that amount. He continued to purchase some farming necessities. Red even purchased several different seeds from a shop.
He knew while some couldn't be planted in his field. He could plant them in his own universe. He had several terrain types. Red could make some basic terrains for each crop.
Nong Min returned home 2 days later. He bid his farewell to Nong Gie while giving him some money in case Red needed to ask him to buy something in the city. On the other hand, several villagers who lived in the city asked him to bring some messages to the family in the village.
Red went a few hundred meters outside the city before he went into his universe. He already put 3 portals. The first was in his house, the second was in the mountain, and the third was in the city. He already purchased the house for 100 gold coins.
The house wasn't expensive. The place had been abandoned for a few years. There was also not enough protection in the city. Its wall was only a made from mud and was only 10 meters tall. The city would disappear if a beast wave occurred. There wasn't a single cultivator lived in the city, which increased the danger.
[I am back.] Red said when he saw the beautiful village from the mountain. He had got the money and completing some Nong Min's wishes.
What he needed to do was to train his physical body. That was the main reason for his current reincarnation.
To become a cultivator.
