Academy Credit

"What did you do?"

Bai Li exclaimed and Zhao Fei remarked later on.

"You did say you weren't gonna give me the room, so I just got permission to break down the wall."

"Don't you need consent to do something like this?"

"Yes."

Bai Li was stumped, he couldn't really handle Zhao Fei's sudden simple answers that draw everything out of a conversation. He wasn't even mad of the wall being tear down, just that it was much of a surprise.

"I do not mind it, but tell me next time."

In all technicality, it was still a corner room. The case was closed and now they were going to be room mates due to Zhao Fei's sudden behavior. It was nice to have company at some point, humans are sociable creatures, going alone most of the time is okay, but having a few or at least one person to talk to is much better.

Zhao Fei's behavior when he looked defiant against Bai Li was due to his attire. He was dirty on a graduation that spoke great changes in their life and would change it once and for all. Anything but that, they both didn't care for one another.

"Whatever you say."

Life went on normally with the company of an extra person.

Bai Li was getting accustomed with his life there for a few days before noticing a system that piqued his interest. The Academy Credit Store.

His card had access to many functions and with the utility added by the Academy, he found a store where you could purchase things with your credits whether it be Arts of the Body, weapons, or nutrient solutions to permanently affect the body. As long as one had enough points, one could buy such, this was one of the reasons why people were green with envy of the Academy, some places don't even have such functions and only gave the soul crystal in the end.

Feather Feet and Tempered Will was also on the store at the price of 1,000 Credits. Both 2nd Generation Body of the Arts, going about at the A- Grade of Body of Arts.

He read an article with the access of the virtual web via card showed him that earning credits wasn't quite difficult.

Killing a Low Tier Novice Beast gave 1 Credit, Killing a Mid Tier Novice Beast gave 5 Credits, and Killing a Advance Tier Novice Beast was 10. A Peak Novice Beast gave 15. The beasts below warrior level did not give a soul so the whole monster identification was null since they measured bloodline and soul power. With no soul power why else would they not be part of the identification process.

Of course they still give chances of hunting a Warrior Level Beast that give them a soul if lucky. They were usually seen as the most you could ever get in the hunting grounds at an astonishing 100 Credits. The credits came from selling the flesh of the beast and with the 100 Credits, also came the beast soul. The beast soul could also be sold, outside the flesh.

The beast soul is an even rarer occurrence of the Warrior beasts than their flesh, which sold at an astonishing 500 Credits but if one wished to keep it, they were allowed to under heavy restrictions using against other students that do not own one.

The power of a beast soul was unique and could always overpower of someone with the same power but without.

That was the methods of obtaining credits using the hunting ground, though it is a great place for one to get credits, there was two more.

One was working jobs for the academy such as running the cafeteria, library, and desks for the academy. The credits given by such was much more minimalistic compared to the hunting ground but it was constant. Unless one gets a promotion, they won't receive anything higher.

And lastly but not least, the last way to earn credits was the internship. The internship allowed students to leave the academy grounds to travel with another group of warriors on their trips, the group would be the one's who create the terms and the academy approval. Which was most, since the only requirement to do the internship was so that the intern itself won't die. Those whose party do take the intern receive direct benefits from the government and thus created so far. But the outside world was much more dangerous and the credits received was solely determined by the group's demand. Ranking each by the amount of credits one can receive, the hunting ground was first, with internship and labor second to third. The signs of risk was also good.

Bai Li examined all the traditional methods of obtaining credits.

He was also esctatic to hear one could even convert the credits into money, the conversion rate was 1 Academy Credit to 100 Union Credits.

One could live in a one room studio for a year with minimum food and electricity usage for about 500. To which he proved when he worked for two years outside of receiving the funds from child services which barely gave funds for a meal per day.

He greatly cherished money and power but if he could receive just one, it would definitely be power.

Bai Li's phone was ringing harmonious tunes and he picked it up. He smiled as he knew who the person was with the tune.

"Yo, how are you?"

"Good, how about you?"

"Great, wanna go to the cafeteria, we should hang out, I just finished my classes."

"Sure thing." Bai Li smirked and ended the call, he immediately began prep and went outside.

Each step had a hint of confidence as he knew what he was going for when attaining points.

He was opting for the internship.

He met up with Wei Tao and ate out in the cafeteria, ever since he learned simple culinary arts from the Granny, he proved to be self sufficient in food, but eating out was a great thing to do occasionally. You could save more money that way but it consumes a bit of time.

Little did he knew, men with the academy's insignia showing their affiliation began delivering a box to each and every student.

It was finally time for them to start the cultivation of their soul energy.
