White Lotus

Goriness...Please spare me a little, I'm just a first year in high school. My point of view on ruthlessness is not just gory things, too. And the 2 chapters with 1,000 words more per week...I'm used to doing 3 chapters per week with around 700(more) words each, and I may forget to write - clumping everything to the end...not so good. Anyway, thank you for reading and give suggestions. I continued to write because there are people reading my works. If there weren't, I probably wouldn't continue...because I'm not getting pay, lol.

Note: Zhu Xiao Wan is still unable to use her legs and has no power(cultivation) yet, if she was to confront Tang Rue now, she would lose.

On their way back to Prince Shen's Manor, Song Hui Yao helped Zhu Xiao Wan dry her clothes.

Song Hui Yao eyed her before saying, "Why didn't you move away?"

"Why should I?" she answered nonchalantly. "The emperor was there, it may cause him to be suspicious of her if something were to happen in the future."

"So you're willing to become a wet dog?" He said, "There are many other ways to get the emperor to be cautious of his daughter."

Zhu Xiao Wan didn't reply. A while later when they were about to arrive at the manor, she opened her mouth to say: "I am currently powerless. So, I am willing to do anything as long as I find it undamaging to my pride."

He stared at her for the short while until they reached the manor and helped her down. When they got out of the carriage, Song Hui Yao drew out a wheelchair from his unknown storage space. "Yin Yi, help Young Miss Zhu with whatever she needs." With that, he turned and left without saying another word.

Yin Yi appeared with an expressionless face and bowed his head at Song Hui Yao. After seeing his master off, he turned to look at the indifferent person sitting in a wheelchair with a complex glint in his eyes.

"Take me back to my room."

The next morning, there were rumours within the nobility society. The rumours was all related to one thing: "The princess may be a white lotus" and "The virtuous Princess You Yan is not wanted by Prince Shen."

Thanks to those lousy noblewomen who had nothing to do and loved to gossip, the rumours spread very quickly to other places within the kingdom. But because Tang Rue was the emperor's daughter, it didn't come across the commoners. It was best for the nobles if they kept it to themselves. After all, the lower class made up most of the kingdom population. If something went wrong, it would be quite troublesome for the emperor to deal with them.

Tang Rue now was staying low as she hoped that the rumours would lessen and would be forgotten. While she was cursing Song Xue Lian, she also wanted to improve their relationship so that Song Hui Yao would want her again. But, she could do nothing about it as she was grounded.

For the next month, Zhu Xiao Wan was preparing for the search of the Vert Essence Fruit - by learning more about the forest. She also asked Guang Ling to teach her some poisons that wouldn't kill people.

One night close to the end of the month, Zhu Xiao Wan sent Cao Lin(the Cyan Spirit guy) to deliver the powder she finished into the palace. To where Tang Rue lived. Without any hindrances, Cao Lin successfully sprinkled the powder onto Tang Rue's face while she was sleeping.

Even when her grounded period was over, Tang Rue didn't leave the palace nor did she exit her room. Every now and then, there would be sounds of vasts or other porcelain goods crashing against the ground as doctors came and left.

Today, Zhu Xiao Wan woke up with her legs being able to function properly. With her legs moving finely, Zhu Xiao Wan walked around the manor a few times. Though she avoided being in the view of the Ning siblings, she didn't want to bother their practice with Zhuang Yang; she also didn't want to Ning Rou Li to cry out in front of her and drag her to go out.

Somewhere at noon, she started to feel strange. She felt fragile and felt like she was being plucked - it was uncomfortable.

"Now that you are able to walk, your contractual spirit should also wake up soon because...it's late," said Song Hui Yao who was reading through packets of papers as he noticed her aura was unusual.

Zhu Xiao Wan said nothing as she waited patiently; she didn't know what she should feel about being able to cultivate.

Soon, a ring was formed on her left hand's index finger. The ring was remarkably simple and really unnoticeable, what made it special was - the ring was crystal clear.

"I see a ring." Surprisingly calm, she asked, "How do I know what contractual spirit I have?"

Upon hearing this question, Song Hui Yao's gaze was a bit weird. It seemed like he couldn't answer. Hence, even after a period of stillness, there was no answer.

All of a sudden, the room was boomed with light that was so bright. Brilliant to the point where both Song Hui Yao and Zhu Xiao Wan had to close their eyes. Not just the light that made them shut their eyes, it was the sharp wind that blasted onto their faces.

It was unexpected that the contracted spirit would blind their eyes with its radiant splendour. This happened so suddenly. It was also astonishing to Song Hui Yao; he never had a contractual spirit.

Then the light dimmed and disappeared, they finally could see what was in the room. Their hair that was blown up by the gale that accompanied the light lowered. When Zhu Xiao Wan saw what was in front of her, she was stunned.

As for Song Hui Yao's reaction, he appeared surprised. There was a short tinge of nostalgia in his black eyes as he gazed at the thing.

"This..." Zhu Xiao Wan murmured.

It wasn't a baby beast nor was it an inadequate weapon and it also wasn't a plant.
