Silver Moon City

From what I've read in my late father's private library when I was a kid, Silver moon city was a vast land area, it was considered as one of the biggest city that constituted the State of Shen. Its population was three times greater than that of Red Cloud City.

At this moment, at the entrance of the Silver moon city, the carriage I was in as well the troop of the men guarding it was getting ready to enter the city.

" Sir Alfred, we have arrived." As I was indulging myself in an enjoyable recollection of the past events back when I was a kid with myparents, Long Mei's voice rang out.

After spending almost more than three hours in the carriage with the young girl as well as the middle-aged man, I've learned some things about them. Apparently, the young girl's name was Long Mei and she was the third child of the current city lord of Silver moon city. She was an early 5th rank water mage. As for the middle-aged man, he was Long Tian, her uncle, and a middle stage 8th rank warrior. As for me, I introduced myself as Alfred to them. After what happened to my family, nobody would suspect that I was still alive, so might as well keep it that way. Plus I was not lying when I told them my name was Alfred because it was really my name back on Earth. Also, I didn't get any great deal of information from them about the situation of the Archaic continent. I didn't ask them too many questions because I didn't want to appear too suspicious.

As the carriage was entering the city, I glanced outside the window and couldn't help but feel a slight tremble in my heart, not because of the majestic city walls which were over 20m tall, but because I finally made it to a human settlement or a city after all these years. I've spent so much time training and living amongst magical beasts within the forest that I started to act and think like them. Survival and getting stronger was my motto. I had viewed myself more as a beast rather than a human after spending all that time in the forest, especially after my Draconic transformation. So being amongst humans made feel like an alien visiting a new planet for the first time. I used to live a life without rules and constraints in the forest, I did whatever I wanted and whenever I wanted as long as I have the strength to do so with no one to judge my actions whether wrong or right.

As the carriage was entering the city, I could clearly see a queue of people, some on foot while others with their horses and low level domesticated magical beast which was being checked by the guards before entering the city.

As for us, we used a different gate void of any people. It seemed like this gate was made for the member of the Long Family or any powerful or important people going to Silver moon city. As for the other city gate, it was being used by merchant caravans, low-level cultivators or mages, regular mortals as well as adventurers and others.

Because it was my first time in Silver moon city, I carefully looked at my surroundings and checked every detail. The city was located on top of small hill and had a commanding view of the surrounding area. It would be pretty hard to attack a city such as this because any attacking force or enemies must climb the barren hillside under a rain of arrows from the archers that positioned on top of the wall before they could reach the outer wall of the city. Space along the wall are watchtowers, where guards can take shelter from the rain or blizzards. The city was well guarded and all of the guards were low-level warriors with one or two mid-level warriors.

The carriage as well the troop of men passed through the city gate without being stopped by any of the guards, instead, they couldn't help but bent down, lower their heads to show their respect as the carriage was passing by like subjects. Long Mei calmly cast ed a glance outside, and as she shifted her gaze towards me, the look in her eyes became very respectful like a child to his elder. She respectfully stated." Sir Alfred, Silver Moon City is the biggest of the four cities. It is divided into two parts, the outer city which is inhabited by the temporary visitors, commoners, as well people with no authority or money. The outer city is also the most densely populated region of the city as well."

As Long Mei was explaining the socio-economic structures of the city, my eyes didn't stop wandering outside. The street was very crowded with People, even though it was the outer city, the road was clean and neat. The street was very wide as it was the main road through the city. At some point the road of both city gates converged together and was divided into four lanes, three were being used by horses, carriages and other way transportation while the last one was being used by pedestrians. All the houses in the outer city were the similar Styles. They were made by some very neat brick while the floor up were made of woods. Despite being full of people, the environment looks very clean. There wasn't any trash on the street or contamination stink. Also, many guards were patrolling streets. They have a solemn and respectful look on their faces. They were mostly low-level warriors but they were well equipped with weapons and a thin black armor. Some of them were regular mortals as well with muscular bodies

" The inner city is constituted mostly of warriors and mages as well some major and minor powers, while the City Lord palace is located in the heart of the city." Voiced Long Mei as we entered the inner city. The speed of the horses pulling the carriage was really fast, so it didn't take us more than one hour to arrive at the inner city.

I just sat there without saying any word while looking out the window. Even though I was immensely shocked by the view, I didn't show it on my face. I would have never thought that this city was well developed to this point. Even though it wasn't as magnificent as those big cities back on Earth, but it was still beautiful, especially with its ancient western architectural structures. When I entered the inner city, all I could see was tall majestic buildings and a vision of prosperity everywhere. There were several main roads that converged together and lead simultaneously to the same place which was a big palace like a castle surrounded by a big 10m wall with a big gate in front. Two muscular men were guarding the gate entrance, and they were both 6th rank warriors.

" Where is this?" I asked Long Mei as we were passing through the gate. I clearly have an idea about this place but I just want to make sure. As for why she is taking me to her house, I had no idea. She wanted to apologize to me by giving me a ride to the city which I accepted, but now she is taking me to her father's palace.

" That's the City lord's Palace Sir Alfred, also it is where my family live."

"Come, we have arrived. Let us come out the carriage." As Long Mei's voice sounded out, one of the guards had already opened the door of the carriage. She came out the carriage gracefully like a noble followed by his silent uncle Long Tian then me.

Somewhere

" Is Imperial Father came back yet?." Questioned a young man to a middle-aged man next to him.

" Yes Crown Prince your highness, the Emperor just got back two days ago." Answered the middle-aged man respectfully.

" I should go pay him a visit to the Imperial Palace and explain the situation of the Nine Seas Alliance to him as well as the expansion of the Qin Empire." Said the young man with a solemn and cold expression on his face.

The Imperial Palace covered a huge area, the young man as well the middle-aged man had to pass through many great halls, big and small squares and many corridors before they stopped in front of a big door. There was a troop of guards that were lined up along the front perimeter. The young man pushed the door open, and what appeared in from of him was an enormous grand hall.

On the outer far end of the grand hall sat a man around his fifties wearing a red dragon robe. The man has a claw scar on his face Which make him look scary. He sat there with both of his eyes closed despite hearing the door of the hall creak open. his body gave off a cold and vicious aura.

Entering the grand hall, the young man as well the middle-aged man quickly moved forward to pay their respect.

" Imperial Father." Voiced the young man While looking at the man sitting on the throne.

" What is it, Yang Chao?." Asked the man sitting on the throne with his eyes still closed.

Yep, this young man was none other than Yang Chao of the State of Shen. As for the middle-aged next to Yang Chao, If Jin Longwei was there, he would have recognized him at a glance because he was none other than Lin Fei.
