Fighting arena
In the middle of the battle stage, the two finalists of the Hell Competition just stood there gazing at each other, none of them made a sound or an attack on each other. Even though they haven't made a move on each other yet, but there was this chilling sensation in the air that made you think otherwise. It's like the battle has long started.
Despite the enormous size of ji Feng, The swordsman Li Nan wasn't intimidated by him in the slightest. From the looks of it, it seemed like that it wasn't the first time that the Swordsman Li Nan has seen this giant.
"Ji Feng, Also known as the War beast by the people of Iron fist city. I have to say, I am impressed that you made it this far, but you'd better give up right now because there's no way you can win against a 7th rank warrior with just your brute strength alone. Listening to Li Nan's words, Ji Feng seemed to be enraged as he faced the sky and let out a Roar like a beast. He waved his giant Battle Ax in the air which let out an ear-piercing noise.

He moved towards Li Nan step by step while revealing a fierce looking smile on his face. Each step he took was like a moving tower, and the ground of battle arena seemed to be shaking with every step he took.

A matchless oppressive sound can be heard as he swung his battle Ax towards Li Nan. Every vein in his arms, legs and upper body became visible as he poured almost every bit of his strength into this single attack. It's like his veins were going to burst out from his body. The long battle Ax ruthlessly smashed towards Li Nan. A noise in the air caused the crowd to shudder like birds. Several soldiers that were barricading the crowd from getting close to the battle arena couldn't help but retreat backward. There wasn't any battle qi in this attack, but the overwhelming brute force poured into this attack was too terrifying.
"It seems like your gorilla is trying to end the fight with this single attack." Watching the fight up on the guest platform, Tian-mu couldn't help comment on Ji Feng's attack.
"You are wrong brother Tian, Ji Feng is just trying to break through his limit by putting all of his Strength in every attack. The main reason he came to Iron fist city is to awaken something he thinks is dormant within him, and the only way he can do that is through battles. However, he can't go around fighting and killing people aimlessly, which is why he came to Iron fist city where all the outlaws and criminals live, in this city he can almost kill anybody without feeling any sign of guilt because he thinks that he is doing society a favor by eliminating any one of us."
"He doesn't care about the money or the reward, he just wants to break through his next limit, that's why he always goes for the kill by giving it all in every attack. In another, he is just getting started unless his opponent died in this attack. He is the perfect weapon." Answered Chu Yang with a wolfing and devilish grin on his face.
Listening to Chu Yang words, I couldn't help but smile devilishly. It seemed like that Ji Feng already knew that there's something dormant within him, but it's clear that he didn't know what it was precisely or how to truly awaken it. I already decided to establish my own influence, and I can't do everything by myself which was why I needed a lot of subordinates, the stronger the better and that Ji Feng already made it to the top of my list.
"I have warned you already. It seems like you are just a giant brute with no brain. I'll crush you along with that brute strength that you are so proud, and make you see the difference between us you arrogant beast."

From the look of it, Li Nan wasn't going to dodge the attack but blocked it instead. Earth attribute battle qi was always known for its impeccable and strong defense, now let us see if Li Nan can truly withstand Ji Feng's powerful attack. Instantly, the ground cracked open under both of his feet as they sunk into the ground.

As Li Nan faced Ji Feng's attack, he only coldly snorted before he slammed his silver sword which was imbued with an exceptionally powerful earth battle qi against the battle Ax.

When that battle Ax and the silver sword infused with earth battle qi collided, a ridiculously powerful earth battle qi mixed with pure raw power exploded forth, the impact ripped a thick crack in the ground. Dusk and rock flew forth everywhere as the collision of the attacks were quite formidable.
Ji Feng took a mere five steps backward while Li Nan stayed in the same place after their attack collided. However, Li Nan's both feet seemed to sink more than seven inches deeper into the ground after blocking ji Feng's Battle Ax.
"You are indeed strong. No wonder, you made it this far even though you can't cultivate battle qi or mana. Your physical power is truly terrifying. Nonetheless, it means nothing to me." When Li Nan felt how Powerful Ji Feng's attack was after blocking it, his pupils shrunk a little but he still kept his cool.
This outcome had also evidently surpassed the expectations of the crowd, as a shock expression emerged in their eyes. Previously, no one has ever successfully blocked the battle Ax of ji Feng known as the war beast, yet Li Nan was able to block it without a scratch and not even taking a step backward. Could it be that this man ahead of them, was actually stronger and more powerful than the war beast in term of strength? They have never seen Li Nan fight before as he was qualified for the final without even fighting because of his strength. In another word, none of them knew his true strength. Usually, when a warrior or a contestant was trying to block Ji Feng's strike, no matter how sturdy-looking they were, the war beast always bent them like shrimps and made them vomited mouthfuls of blood with a single strike, yet this time, it was the war beast that was forced backward.

While Ji Feng figure retreated, Li Nan didn't give him a chance to take a breather but continued to attack him. His silver sword became more than fifteen inches longer as it was infused with earth battle qi. With every three attacks launched by Li Nan, one landed while the other two was blocked by Ji Feng which caused some of Earth battle qi infused in the sword to be scattered in the air.
Even though ji Feng was in a defensive position, he managed to launch a few attacks with his battle Ax, but this time, Li Nan didn't bother to block them but dodged them instead. Every time his attack was dodged and landed on the ground, it left a deep pit which smashed open the ground.
"Stop dodging you coward, and stand still so I can crack open your skull." Ji Feng snarled out and continued to roar. Despite being cut by Li Nan's sword attack and bleeding excessively, he seemed to become excited by Li Nan's skill as well as his power. Not only that, the savageness in his eyes intensified as well.
He knew his limit and his power. He knew that he couldn't fight against an 8th rank and above powerhouse with his current strength, that's why he considered a 7th rank warrior as his limit. Until he defeated a 7th rank warrior, he wouldn't dare to challenge an 8th warrior. Even though he didn't wish to die until he truly awakened the thing inside of him, but still, he also didn't mind risking it all in the process, even his life.
Watching Ji Feng fight, was like watching a ferocious or a wild beast fight. He disregarded his injuries and the damages he was taking, the only thing he was focusing on was to crush the enemy in front him. Seeing this, everyone in the crowd couldn't help but moved far away from the two. Their eyes held endless terror as they watched the fight.

Seeing how Ji Feng didn't show any sign of stopping or giving up despite his excessive loss of blood, Li Nan became enraged as well. Also, he was running out energy. Ji Feng attacks were truly powerful, and he couldn't afford to block every one of his attacks. If he did , he would lose a big chunk of his stamina. He couldn't let the fight to go on like this, otherwise, he was going to run out of steam, his only option was to finish up his opponents. Truthfully, he didn't want to kill Ji Feng as he always fights vigorously when there was a beast tide. He was a good shield and he protected this city a lot even though he was doing so unconsciously. He was a battle mania. Even though this city was filled criminals and all kinds of monsters in human skin, this city was the only place they could call home and their safe haven.
Waiting for an Opening, Li Nan suddenly rushed at Ji Feng again. But this time, he went for the kill. He displayed his footwork skill without restraint to its full potential. He swished past the side of the tall body of Ji Feng, a trace of a smile flashed in his eyes as he jumped and tried to plunge the silver sword into Ji Feng's neck. In his heart, Ji Feng was already a dead man, even Ji Feng thought so too as it was too late for him to dodge this attack. The combination of his amazing footwork and his speed made it impossible for Ji Feng to react and stop his attack.

"I am in a need for this man, could you spare his life young man." Voiced an old man in the middle of the battle arena as he stopped the incoming attacks of Li Nan with his bare hands.

That was the three things that came into the crowd's mind as well the three districts Lord watching the fight up on the guest platform.
Yep, this old man was none other me, when I saw that Ji Feng wasn't going to give up the fight and Li Nan was going to kill him for real, I used wind magic to flew into stage as fast as I could as well as directed my frightful presence skill towards Li Nan in order to render him immobile because no matter how fast I was, I wouldn't be able to reach him in time. But with the frightful presence skill, I can make him unable to move while using wind magic to fly into the battle arena.
Seeing me into the battle arena, every person in the crowd, as well as the three district lords, became tongue-tied. This was beyond their realm of imagination.
However, before they can comprehend how awesome I was and what happened. Something more terrifying happened.

Two steaks of black energy flew high into the sky. At this moment, a terrifying scene erupted in the Archaic continent.

A little blue screen pops up in front of me as I watched the two black energy up on the sky, warning me about it.

The two streaks of black energy fused with each other up in the sky forming a small black sun and explode forth. After the black sun-like energy exploded, it was as If it was engulfing the whole sky and cloud. It was as if the sky and earth were turning upside down. Despite being far away, I could still feel the fluctuation of energy within that ball of black energy before it exploded and it was extremely terrifying. As matter of fact, calling it terrifying doesn't begin to describe it. It was as if the sky was being melted away or dissolved by the scattered black energy. I've never felt or seen anything like that, the black energy was as pitch as black could be. Even the sun started to lose out to that overwhelming darkness.

Fissures could be seen up in the air as the sky exploded and broke to pieces like a broken mirror. The earth was trembling violently as the pieces of the broken sky were falling down. However, they disappeared before they could even touched the ground.
Finally, all the black energy as well as the broken pieces of sky quickly dimmed down and disappeared. Everything went back to normal, the blue sky was still there as if nothing happened as if it was our imagination. The sky was still the same yet felt different. Everything seemed different about it, the sun, the clouds, and even the air felt different.
"The illusionary barrier, someone destroyed the illusionary barrier of the Archaic continent from within, but who and how?" My head went blink as I blurted out those words out loud. It was the second time I've ever felt true fear in my life after I've met the white frost dragon because I know that the doomsday came earlier than expected.
