The System Finally Broke [C41]

Back in the forest.

Shu Himo was slowly waking up when he suddenly noticed a boar jumping toward him.

"WHAT?" Startled, he immediately trowed a kick toward the boar, sending it flying.

[This is why usually no one sleeps in a forest filled with monsters. Good job user.]

"How funny system, moreover, why did you say that the adult version of the slime was capable of destroying this universe? It was barely a one start threat!"

[The System managed to check for a couple seconds the Kingdom of your dreams and is confident to say that the user is crazy to compare a poor creature like the slime against your empire.]

"How did the slime became a poor creature all of a sudden? Didn't you want me to kill it?"

[Exactly. User failed the Quest. But somehow the User also managed to dodge the penitence, this is surprising.]

Only looking around himself did Shu Himo finally notice that the items he obtained for free all vanished. Filled with sadness, he tried to make the system pity himself. "System, I still resolved the problem with the slime, can I at least receive a reward?"

[Quest (Failure?): Slay the Otherworldly Monster!]

[Quest Difficulty: F~SSS]

[Quest Reward: A candy.]

[Quest Failure Penitence: Dodged.]

"Oh, the system broke. You can't assign if I completed the quest or not, you can't choose the quest difficulty, you give me a candy, and then you even say that I 'Dodged' the penitence..."

[The system never broke. Normally there would be no reward for this quest as it's a failure, but the system felt pity toward the User so it decided to give a candy.]

After hearing the bullsh*t from the system, Shu Himo then noticed a candy materialize in front of himself. "Whatever..." Taking it, Shu Himo was about to eat it when he suddenly noticed a green thing coming from far, stealing the candy. It was the slime.

Shu Himo was initially annoyed by it, but seeing how much it was cute while eating the candy he could not help but forgive it and started patting it. Focusing on looking the slime for a moment, Shu Himo then let out a laugh and said, "I heard you morphed into a woman during combat... As that seems your favorite form I shall call you Phylia!"

The slime seemed to not mind the name and only giggled. Was it somehow happy to have found a master? Shu Himo was unsure about it, after all, he could not communicate with it.

Phylia on the other hand, not knowing the language of his master was trying to learn it. Initially, she was reluctant about have this master, but seeing his strength in the dream and the fact that it gave to her such an awesome thing like that candy, it now completely swore to serve his new master, even with no need of the seal put by the taming item on herself.

One of the effects from the seal is to increase and stabilize the cultivation level of the slime to the same of his master, so Phylia is now at the Acupoint Opening phase. Shu Himo does not have an idea of how it works while the system would not explain so he just decided to not care about it.

Not having anymore the flying sword and being extremely far from the city of Arsia (he is now outside of the kingdom), the map he just bought is useless, so Shu Himo is now lost.

Now it's morning, but as the day will end Shu Himo will need a place to sleep, so he immediately started walking toward the highest tree he could find to get a high view, a tree high about fifty meters.

The forest seemed quite peaceful, the number of monsters was low, and even the ones that were here did not bother Shu Himo or Phylia, so it was a calm moment.

Now in front of the tree, Shu Himo proceeded to climb, reaching its peak. The scenery was beautiful.

"Phylia, come up here! I have something to show you!" While Phylia was not sure of what Shu Himo just said, thanks to the master-monster relationship she knew what he wanted, so she morphed into a small bird and immediately flew on the shoulder of Shu Himo, rubbing her head on his face.

The view is breathtaking: not only there is the forest but there is also a river with limpid clear water far ahead, and on the side of the river there could be seen a caravan similar to the one used during the Middle Ages with multiple horses riding toward the other part of the river, passing on top of a bridge.

Shu Himo, seeing that there is a caravan filled with people, immediately wanted to ask information, after all, he needs to know in which Kingdom he is!

Having taken the decision, he then descended the tree back to the ground and started walking toward the caravan.

While he was walking, Shu Himo suddenly turned around looking toward Phylia, "Can you morph yourself to not make them think you are a slime?"

Nodding, Phylia then morphed herself and became a little girl of seemingly 10 years old, barely higher than Shu Himo. Phylia also changed completely her colors, from the green she once was, her eyes became black, her hair became white, while the tail she created mimicking Shu Himo was also completely white. Her clothes are normally used shoes and normal clothes, nothing too luxurious.

The end result seemed like a normal child, completely different from a slime so Shu Himo was satisfied.

"This is perfect. I noticed that you are only morphing into the external part, once we find some enemies I will let you analyze all their bodies to morph perfectly, you should be able to talk then."

After barely a minute walking Shu Himo and Phylia approached the people Shu Himo saw from afar, to try to talk with them and get some information on the place.

Seeing them, Shu Himo immediately said, "Hello!"

Only to be answered with a, "Everyone, enemy attack! Defend yourselves! Get ready for the fight!"
